Revenge On Her Ex After Rebirth -
Chapter 677 Arrive In The Capital
Chapter 677 Arrive in the Capital
After Hannah got into the helicopter, Jimmy followed in.
While looking at her, Melvin let out a smile.
Hannah simply ignored it. Then she cast a look at Oscar, who was standing still with his eyes fixed on her.
Hannah looked away before she was overwhelmed by sadness.
Of course, the separation from him was the last thing she would like to experience.
She would rather expect any trace of nonchalance from his face so that she could turn her grudge against him into a kind of motive to convince herself to stay strong in the following days.
As the blades of the helicopter started rotating, strong whirr echoed around.
The strong wind ruffled Oscar's hair and wrinkled his shirt.
But he simply stood still to watch his beloved wife going up bit by bit until she totally disappeared out of his sight.
With his fists clenching hard from beginning to end, he felt like his eyes turned bloodshot out of rage. He struggled to hold back his surging anger.
He didn't dare to imagine how desperate she would feel as they separated from each other.
The helicopter continued to heave up to the sky.
Hannah looked down at him, seeing him standing alone as if he were deserted.
"Did you regret it?" said Melvin as he noticed her expression.
Hannah seemed hesitating.
Oscar's figure was getting smaller and smaller as they went up. Finally, he disappeared from her sight.
"No. I just wanna make sure I won't forget how impassive he looks right now."
"I doubt that." Of course, Melvin wouldn't be likely to believe that.
But Hannah didn't intend to argue. Nor did she want to talk to him, whom she wasn't familiar with. As always, she reserved the greatest alert to strangers.
After all, now she was under his control. Ending up dying for no reason would be the last thing she would do. She would never give up on the faith to survive unless it was no longer needed.
"I heard you are pregnant." Melvin broke the silence.
Hannah replied with a glance.
"I didn't hear it from Oscar. I bet you know how well-informed I have been." Said Melvin in an easy tone. He didn't mean to flaunt himself. Instead, he was making a statement of fact. Or exactly speaking, he was warning her of the risk of playing tricks.
"Yeah, I have been pregnant for three months."
"Well, I really can't tell if only judging by your figure."
"Uh-huh."
"Do you hate him?"
Hannah frowned.
"I mean if you hate Oscar? He leaves you alone while you are pregnant." Melvin continued casually as if he were talking about something common.
"Don't you think I should?"
Melvin let out an unpredictable smile. Then he continued, "Hannah, you are brilliant."
"So you mean I should put up with it."
"Cuz you got no other choice."
Hannah replied with a smile. Indeed, that was why she could do nothing but follow what was meant to be-she got no choice.
"You know what. I like brilliant ladies." Said Melvin.
Hannah was rendered a bit surprised.
"Don't be mistaken. I mean I appreciate your brilliance. I am not that despicable to deprive someone else of the one he loves, especially now you are pregnant." Then he continued to explain, "What I mean 'appreciate' is that I don't wanna waste time on you. Hannah, I bet you know what I am talking about."
Obviously, he was warning her again not to try anything stupid in the following days.
Of course, Hannah was clever enough to notice his indication. However, there was something she was still confused about, "According to Oscar, you need to make me hostage because you don't trust him. But I am curious. Now that you have taken me away, what if the Collins learn about that? Such being the case, don't you think Oscar will lose his value in the eyes of Collins?"
"Who do you think will be most impacted?" asked Melvin.
Hannah fell into a sudden pause.
Now she almost reached the answer.
Melvin also noticed that. So he added, "Oscar is the answer. Once Collins notices that I have taken you away, they will no longer trust him. As a result, he will be exposed to danger." "So you let him handle all these alone?"
Melvin nodded.
Gritting her teeth, she could tell how scheming he appeared.
Melvin clearly understood every pros and cons. What was more, he could clearly see through the essence, which he found easy to manipulate.
Hannah didn't intend to continue. She leaned against the seat and closed her eyes to rest.
Neither did Melvin intend or request to talk again.
However, as soon as she closed her eyes, he finished his words, "Hannah, the nature of all politicians is actually darker and eviler than you have ever expected. Neither Oscar nor I am the exception." "Yeah, I know." She answered with her eyes closed.
Watching her face, he added, "Just rest assured. You will be fine as long as he doesn't betray me. I am not a maniac who enjoys killing innocents."
Hannah made no response.
The air fell into silence.
More than three hours later, they reached the Capital.
Then the helicopter landed in a resplendent manor located in the downtown area, a land of incredible cost.
Hannah followed Melvin to get off the helicopter.
Jimmy stayed by her side with great alert.
Melvin led her into a separate courtyard with a house.
"Here is where you live temporarily. I am living opposite your place."
Hannah started looking around.
Though it looked tranquil and snug, perfectly fitting how people felt about Melvin from the surface, she could actually tell that there was also hidden his ambitious nature. "You will have servants. Just ask for whatever you need. I will try to give satisfaction. But remember, don't ever try to run away. That's my only request." Said Melvin.
"I know what's the wise thing to do," Hannah answered.
"I bet you do. Have a rest and refresh yourself from the trip."
Hannah nodded as well as replied.
Then Melvin left with his men.
Now only Jimmy and a middle-aged maidservant were left here except for Hannah.
The servant acted respectfully.
"Jimmy, I need some sleep. Do remember to take some rest as well." Said Hannah.
Jimmy nodded.
Then she walked into a bedroom, where the air was filled with the refreshing scent of sandalwood.
The decoration was vintage and special.
She lay on top of a queen size bed, the mattress of which felt comfortable.
She somehow believed that it would be a good idea to stay here till her due day.
