Revenge On My First Love
Chapter 348 The Heated Game

Chapter 348 The Heated Game

In the next round, Sophia won. Edwin was the only person who never won once.

"Mom, I suspect they have conspired to swindle me!" With that said, Edwin went to hug Laura.

"Hey, hey, how old are you? How can you hug my wife?" With that said, Abbott hugged Laura into his arms, not giving Edwin a chance at all.

Edwin, who was hurt, felt even sadder now.

"I'm just an unwanted child!"

As soon as he got off the table, Bard took Edwin's place while rubbing his hands.

Every year he lost. This year he must win.

Sophia, Travis, and Charles didn't know what he was thinking. But they would like to check if his skills had improved.

As expected, after four rounds of the game, Bard lost all his money.

"Mom, I lost everything I earned this year. Everything!" Saying that, Bard went to Laura for comfort too.

But Abbott's warning look was terrifying.

As the youngest boy in the family, Bard shouted angrily, "Dad, how can you do this? How can you occupy my mother? That's not cool!"

"What's wrong with that? She is my wife, so I can occupy her for as long as I wish. Why don't you go get yourself a wife?"

Bard was heartbroken! He couldn't replace a wife.

"But she is my mother!"

"She is my wife first, and then your mother!"

Bard was speechless.

He suspected that he was adopted. But he dared not say it, he was afraid that his father would beat him!

They played games until it was afternoon.

Drake never sent Sophia a message or called her during this time.

Travis noticed that Sophia had checked her phone several times. So he asked, "Didn't Drake call you?"

"He did it last night."

Drake did call to check if she had reached home.

"But today you've got tons of messages. Was none of them from him?"

Sophia suddenly didn't know what to say.

"Since you came back, I've noticed that something is wrong, Sophia, tell me honestly, is Drake treating you badly?"

Sophia knew she couldn't hide things from Travis, or anyone in the family. They were all outstanding people.

"Travis, to tell you the truth, he treats me well, but he didn't say that he would come to visit us this time."

Travis frowned. "Didn't he say that?"

Sophia nodded.

"It's too much. He doesn't take you seriously at all, Sophia, can you bear this?"

Sophia smiled, "Not every relationship can be restarted. Now that it has restarted, I choose to believe in him. Besides, I have made an agreement with Mom. If he neither comes this year nor next year, I will give up this relationship."

Drake didn't mention he would visit this year, so he was very likely to stay at his home this year.

Travis knew his sister very well, and knew very well that once she made a new choice, she was serious.

Drake didn't even think about visiting them. It meant that he wasn't taking Sophia seriously enough.

"Sophia..."

Travis would never allow someone to hurt his sister and make her sad.

Sophia smiled again with a bit of disappointment. "It's okay, Travis, this is life, right? We come across hardships and become stronger each time after."

"But you know, we, as your brothers, would never want you to get hurt, not even once. We just want to protect you."

"But I have to grow up, after all, don't I? Travis, sometimes I think, maybe I encounter more difficulties because you guys protect me too well and don't let me know the hard parts of life. If you let me face things by myself, maybe I wouldn't have had so many troubles."

It was true!

"Okay, I get it. Sophia, we can let you face things. But don't forget, we are always behind you."

Sophia nodded.

Travis could force Drake to be here. But what was the point of doing so if Drake didn't want to come here?

They could only let nature take its course.

In the evening, they had a big supper.

Then they watched the Christmas Gala.

They were a relatively wealthy family, they could have gone abroad to spend Christmas. But the Lawson family was conservative. They followed the Christmas tradition strictly.

Abbott began to distribute gifts.

Bard shouted out, "Oh, our stingy dad actually gave out gifts"

Glancing at him, Abbott said, "Don't you want your gift?"

Bard felt threatened!

Shoot! That was unfair.

But Bard immediately gave in.

"Mom!" The next second, he shouted again, "Is that all?"

Before he finished, he noticed Abbott's warning look, so he could only button his lip.

Sophia said proudly, "Bard, I have more than you"

Bard thought Abbott was just going through the forms, but it turned out he was serious.

Edwin also shouted proudly, "I have more than you too!"

"More than you!" Charles had always put things succinctly.

"More than you, too!" Travis didn't say much either, but it was definitely insulting.

Bard looked at Laura pitifully, and Laura looked at her phone, "Sorry, I got the most!"

Bard was speechless.

Why were they being so mean to him?

"So, it's a matter of luck!" Abbott said deliberately.

How could Bard be so unlucky? He lost at games earlier and got the least gifts now. Boohoo. Fate is so unfair.
