Chapter 389 Sophia, I Miss You
Chapter 389 Sophia, I Miss You
Inwardly, he added, 'I miss you, too, Sophia.'
"How about tomorrow morning? I'll be free."
"OK. I'll pick you up."
Before Sophia spoke again, he asked, "Don't you want to get down?"
She had to push the door open and get off.
Actually, she wanted to refuse his proposal of picking her up the following day.
However, the next second, he started the engine and pulled away.
Frowning, Sophia had a headache, realizing Drake was still like before.
The next day, Sophia got up early to avoid Drake. Some indescribable charm in him almost made her feel uneasy.
Much to her surprise, after she got ready and left the apartment, she saw Drake waiting for her, leaning against his car.
"I thought it would take you longer."
Sophia felt too embarrassed to ask him why he had arrived so early. However, since he was waiting, she couldn't refuse him. Hence, she sat in the passenger's seat. "Did you have breakfast?" Drake asked.
Sophia dared not to look at him. "Well, I did."
"You have nothing in the apartment. Tell me what you had."
Was so fond of exposing her lies?
Sophia probably had used up all her strength in the past few days. She looked up at him and asked, "Mr. Riley, what does it have to do with you if I had breakfast or not?" "You are my mother's student. After you return, I'm supposed to take care of you. Sit still, Ms. Lawson."
Sophia was rendered wordless.
They pulled up to a five-star hotel. When Drake pursued her, he insisted on having breakfast with her every day.
The memories were beautiful. However, recalling them right now tortured her.
Drake didn't let her order but ordered food for her.
While eating, they didn't speak.
During breakfast, Bonnie made a video call to Sophia.
Thinking Drake couldn't see Bonnie's appearance, she answered it.
"Morning, Mommy!"
"Morning, Bonnie. Did you miss Mommy?"
"Right. I miss you every second, every minute. Where are you now, Mommy?"
The little girl's voice was pleasant to the ear. Although Drake couldn't see her, he could imagine she should look like Sophia.
He used to imagine Sophia and he would have a lovely child countless times.
However, everything between them had become bygone.
Drake believed the child of Sophia and Noah should also be adorable.
After exchanging a few words, Sophia hung up.
"Your... daughter?" Drake asked subconsciously.
Sophia's heart jolted. She said slowly, "Yep, my daughter."
They fell into silence again.
The tense atmosphere suffocated them. Both felt it hard to catch up their breath.
Finally, Drake asked, "I'm full. Have you done?"
"Me too."
Sophia didn't eat much, only wishing to leave as soon as possible.
When they bypassed a store, Sophia asked, "Can you drop me off here and wait for a moment?"
Drake pulled the car over.
Sophia pushed the door, got off, and strode towards the store.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Drake watched. In the past, he would follow her into the store. She even didn't need to prepare any gift as he would have done it earlier.
However, he could only sit and wait without doing anything now.
They had broken up, and he didn't have the right to do those things.
After returning to the car with the gift, Sophia asked Drake to open the trunk and put the gift in.
Then they headed to Emma's villa.
Sophia had a lot of memories in this house as well. Once, she had thought she would spend the rest of her life there. However, it had been only a few years, and everything had changed. Emma seemed to know she would drop by, waiting at the door since early morning. When she saw Drake's car, she hurriedly strode towards them.
Sophia got down. She kept in touch with Emma in the past two years but not as frequently as before.
If it weren't for Chloe's wedding, they would hardly meet each other again.
Emma and Sophia hugged each other tightly.
"I miss you, Ms. Glass," muttered Sophia.
"I miss you, too. Let me take a look at you, Sophia."
Emma scanned her carefully and concluded, "Sophia, you've lost too much weight. It's only been two years."
"Ms. Glass, so have you."
Sophia's smile wasn't as bright as before. Instead, it looked bitter.
Emma felt sorry for her, realizing the breakup between Drake and Sophia must have changed her significantly.
She hugged Sophia again.
"Sophia... My dear sister-in-law..." Aria sniffed, walked to Sophia, and hugged her.
Patting her back, Sophia chuckled. "Aria, just call me Sophia in the future."
"No way! You are my sister-in-law forever. And the only one who I admit."
Aria had been successful in her acting career in the past two years. As her acting skills improved, she became an A-list actress winning many awards. Sophia was at a loss for what to say.
When she carried out the gift from the trunk, Emma seemed to be upset. "Sophia, I'm unhappy. It's been two years. You are distant from us."
"Ms. Glass, I know you lack nothing, but the gift represents my kindness. In the future, I may not be able to return to Sealand and meet you again. Please do accept it." Everyone understood her implications. They had thought they would be a family back then, but they parted eventually.
All felt frustrated. Emma accepted the gift and took Sophia into the house.
Everything remained the same, but Sophia had different feelings.
"How's Noah doing, Sophia?"
"Much better."
"It's all Olivia Grant's fault. She's gone, but she also forcibly separated you and Drake..."
"Ms. Glass, please let the bygones be bygones. Let's change the topic."
Emma subconsciously checked on Drake. "All right. Let's not talk about it."
After exchanging a few words with Emma, Sophia learned Chloe still needed her help. Therefore, she bid Emma farewell.
"Sophia, are you leaving so soon?"
"Sorry, Ms. Glass. I'll visit you some other day."
She was being polite, but Emma asked, "Some other day? I'm afraid there won't be a next time."
