Rewriting My Heart's Fate (Ethan and Evelyn) -
Chapter 372
"Okay, wait for me then. I'll come get you at the airport."
After hanging up the call, the anxiety in my heart seemed to be comforted by a sense of warmth.
Kevin's arrival had given me great courage and hope. I knew well that one additional comrade would mean a higher chance of victory in this complicated situation.
I packed up the necessities quickly to make sure that I did not miss out on any clues or evidence that could benefit me.
I may still feel slightly uneasy, but my heart was filled with even more determination and conviction to face the upcoming trials.
While I drove to the airport, I thought about all sorts of possible scenarios that could happen. I also thought about how I could maximize Kevin's help and protect myself at the same time so I wouldn't fall into the enemy's traps once more. The airport was bustling with people. I waited anxiously for Kevin to appear.
Finally, in the chaos of the airport crowd, I saw his familiar and kind face.
He held a luggage in his hand as he walked toward me with a smile on his face. At that moment, it was almost like I had seen my savior.
"Are you okay, Eve?" Kevin asked with concern the moment he saw me.
I nodded my head and forced a smile. "I'm fine, I just got entangled in some trouble. Thank you for coming all the way to lend me a hand."
Kevin patted my shoulders as his eyes overflowed with encouragement.
"No need for that between us. Let's go, let's get out of here and talk in more detail when we reach somewhere safe."
We drove to a more secluded hotel and in a hotel room, I told Kevin in detail about what I was facing and the Grayson family's complicated background. He frowned after hearing it but his eyes held a firm determination.
"Don't worry, Eve, I'm here. I won't let you go through all of these alone Kevin said solemnly. He was very considerate of my feelings at this time as he consoled me incessantly.

I looked at him gratefully as I felt moved.
Yes, with him by my side, I felt like I had more courage and strength to face all difficulties.
"But, no matter what the Graysons are up to, at least you're safe now, so let's not think too much about this."
I nodded. Kevin's words felt like a shot of valor to my heart, freeing me temporarily from my anxiety.
However, also understood that temporary safety didn't mean that I could rest assured completely from then on. The shadows lurking in the background were still following
closely behind me.
I took a deep breath and tried to silence the turmoil in my heart as I discussed with Kevin what our next steps could be.
"I feel like we need a detailed plan, Kevin. We need a way to protect ourselves and at the same time, a way to replace out the truth about all of these."
I expressed our current situation clearly and hoped to get some support.
"Also, I feel like this isn't just something threatening my safety. It seemed to also involve a conflict of interest that is bigger than me."
Kevin nodded in agreement. He was silent for a while as he pondered. Then, he gave me a few possible options.
"Firstly, we need to amp up
protection for your safety. We can't let these people have their way. Then, I'll use my connections to try to replace out more details about the Grayson family and the unknown forces.
"Lastly, about your designing job, I'll try my best to share your load to ensure that this matter won't cause harm to the development of your career."
I listened to Kevin's arrangements and my heart was filled with gratitude.
At this crucial time, it was my biggest fortune to have a friend like him by my side.
