She Will Be Mine
YBTM | Chapter 28

**Violet** Hearing the word "Angel" brought a glimmer of hope to my mind. I was so excited he was here, but I was also scared of what Ted would do. When I felt the cold metal of the gun on my cheek, I knew he was staking his claim. A million things were going through my head on how this would end. Would I make it out alive? Would Mike? What would happen to Ted after this, and would he come after me again? I was praying that we would make it out alive until I heard Ted talking about me. I turned my attention to the conversation and was not happy with what I heard. Mike was really trying to make a deal with Ted to work for him. What shocked me the most was when Mike said he didn't want me, and Ted could have me. He was so calm, and his demeanor was relaxed. I guess he was really done with me and no longer loved me like Ted had said. I did my best to keep the tears from falling from my eyes as I looked at Mike with pained eyes. I couldn't believe he was giving up on me. The thought alone made my heart break into a million pieces. I guess this was really my life now.

As I sat there with tears brimming in my eyes, I felt Ted pull me up as he put his arm around my shoulder as he put his other hand on my stomach. I could feel that he was still holding the gun, as he pressed it into my stomach as a silent warning. He rested his chin on my shoulder as he continued to talk to Mike. I stole a glance at Mike to see his reaction, but he was as calm as one could be. I took a deep breath as I bit my lip, getting ready for my fate. Just as I exhaled, I heard a door slam open and the sound of voices. I felt Ted stiffen next to me as he moved his hand with the gun from my stomach and pointed it at Mike. Before I could do anything, the first shots started to sound throughout the building we were in.

"Fuck!" I heard Ted yell as he pulled me down and flipped a table. "Cody!" He yelled as he raised his hand up and started shooting over the table.

"You're fucked now." I stated as a matter of fact.

"Not if I kill them first." He gritted his teeth as he continued to shoot blindly.

"Capo!" I heard and looked behind Ted to see Fallon covering him. Here I thought he was on our side. I guess not.

"Fallon. Cover me." He ordered as he grabbed my arm and started puling me toward the back of the building.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" I smacked his shoulder as he kept pulling me further and further away.

"Oh really?" He swiftly picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I started punching his back and kicking my legs in an attempt to get out of his hold. "Knock it the fuck off!" He spat as he squeezed my thigh.

I winced in pain as he turned a corner into a dark hallway. Once in the hallway, I lifted my head and saw Fallon right behind us as he was looking for anyone who would be following us. I don't know how far down the hall we went or what way we were going. All I knew was I was getting further and further away from Mike. Suddenly, light flooded the hall, and I felt the warm air on my skin. I knew we were outside and if we got to the car, it would be all over and I would never see Mike or my family ever again. **Mike**

As soon as all the shooting started, I flipped over and table and took cover behind it. It was pure chaos with bullets flying everywhere and shouting coming from all directions. I tried looking around the table to see where Vi was and if she was safe from the bullets. I knew he wouldn't let anything happen to her, but that didn't help. He still had her, so she was still in danger.

"Alex!" I called over my shoulder as I emptied my magazine and reloaded.

"I'm good!" I heard him faintly over the sound of bullets.

"You have eyes on them?" I asked and finally heard him through the earpiece.

"No, but the other fucker Is at your 9 o'clock."

"Fuck." I grunted. "They are messing with us. Trying to split us up."

"Alex, don't you dare!" Nicole chimed it.

"I got this love." He said over the gunshots.

We kept going until little by little everything started to stop. I snuck a peek around the table and saw most of his men were down or missing. They must have been pussies to run off like that. Once all the shooting stopped, we slowly stood with our guns still drawn. The only ones left on their side were, who I'm assuming were, the undercover agents. I slowly made my way over to where I last saw them and kicked the table to the side.

"That mother fucker!" I yelled as I kicked the table, cracking it in the process.

"Mike!" I heard coming from my left. Turning my head to the side, I saw someone walking toward me.

"You are?" I asked with a raised brow. Right now, I don't trust anyone.

"Nico." He announced as he stopped in front of me.

"Right." I nodded. "Where did he go?" I pressed.

"Through the back hallway. One of our men are with him."

That was all I needed to know before I took off through the back and down the hall. I heard footsteps behind me and knew our men were right behind me. No one was going to rest until we got our Capo's daughter back. I wasn't going to stop until I had my Angel back in my arms. As we neared the end of the hall, I could see light from an open door. The closer we got, I could make out voices. One was Violet as she was yelling and that of two others. Just before we made it to the door, we heard a gun go off. My blood ran cold as all I could think of was if Vi was hit or not.
