Chapter 162
Millie found it hard to believe that some people were kept in the dark about her marriage. Sheshuddered to imagine how Winston had been introducing himself to others. Did he describe himselfas a bachelor?
“Mr. Anderson, do you think my husband’s support is enough if I were to join the entertainmentindustry?” she taunted Gideon.
He smiled stiffly. Of course, Winston could afford to back her up. There was only one problem…
He prodded cautiously, “Isn’t his wife Joanna Lowell?”
Millie’s heart dropped, and the smile vanished from her face. Arching an eyebrow, she downed thealcohol in her glass and replied flatly, “Mr. Anderson, I suggest you read actual news instead oftabloid gossip.”
Gideon shot her a scrutinizing look before leaving in shame.
When Thomas came over to check on Millie, she was drinking alone.
“What are you doing? Trying to get yourself drunk?” He snatched away a glass of alcohol, whichshe was about to drink.
Sighing, she snatched it back. “Leave me alone.”
“Someone’s throwing tantrums again,” he grumbled.
Millie frowned and felt anger rising in her. “Why? Am I not allowed to throw tantrums? I, too, am ahuman with emotions!”
Thomas was taken aback by her outburst. What exactly did Gideon say to her that pissed her off?
“I don’t feel so good. I need to leave now.” She grabbed her bag and proceeded to leave.
Thomas tried to follow her, but she turned and warned him, “Don’t follow me. I’m not a three–year–old.”
Feeling exasperated, Thomas had no choice but to stay put.
Millie pushed open the door of the room. Gideon’s remark echoed in her mind, ruining her mood.

“Isn’t his wife Joanna Lowell?”
She trudged down the corridor. It wasn’t long before she passed by another room and overheardthe laughter from within.
Someone said, “Of course! It’s everyone’s dream to work with Mr. Greer! I will have no regrets if Iget the opportunity to partner with the Greer Group.”
The mention of Winston made Millie roll her eyes. Walking to the restroom, she wouldn’t stopcomplaining, “What’s so good about the Greer Group? No regrets in life? Seriously?”
She continued through gritted teeth, “Ugh, that 50–year–old is greasy as fuck! He’s into youngladies, too. How disgusting! I’ll teach him a lesson for taking advantage of me!”
As her cursing intensified, fueled by the effect of alcohol, she heard a man tutting behind her. Heremarked sarcastically, “How odd is it to replace you scolding me when I haven’t wronged you.”
Caught by surprise, she looked up and noticed Winston leaning against the wall. He examined herwith a hand in his pocket with an air of indifference. “What a
coincidence, Ms. Caldwell. We meet again.”
While speaking, he wandered over and joined her to wash hands at the sink.
Millie gaped at him in confusion. Weren’t they in the ladies restroom?
He washed his hands and grabbed a napkin to dry them. Next, he warned her icily,” This is thegents. Ms. Caldwell, did you purposely curse me out loudly, knowing I’m here?”
Raising an eyebrow, he bent over slightly. “I thought you said yesterday that you wanted us to stayout of each other’s lives.”
Winston had just left the men’s restroom when he spotted Millie in it, a scene that made himoverthink.
She choked. Never had she expected to run into Win
