“I’m sorry.” Cara’s voice stopped Millie in her tracks.

Millie stood at the end of the bed and gazed at her calmly. If she had fell pity for her yesterday, itwas now replaced by indifference.

“Don’t engage with her anymore, or you might replace yourself in trouble,” Lainey reminded her.

Millie nodded and followed Lainey into the operating room.

The operation was completed late at night, and Millie finished work very late.
