Millie shot Yoel a confused frown.

As he spoke, tears started flowing down his cheeks. He regarded his wealthy peers with contempt. After years of working hard to graduate from medical school, he was finally hired by Bifrost Hospital, unlike the rich kids who relied on their families to get hired.

And that wasn’t even the worst part, Joanna was his mentee when she first joined the hospital, buthe wasn’t allowed to criticize her. Not only that, she’d give him an attitude every day.

Half a year passed, and Joanna picked up nothing. When his superiors did a routine inspection, they criticized him for not being a good mentor. But what could he do about it?

He shook his head, thinking that this life wasn’t worth living at all.

“Dr. Marshall,” Millie called out to him earnestly when he was about to leave.

Yoel came to a halt. Sighing, he slowly took off his doctor’s coat. Underneath the coat was anordinary white tee.

She watched him tidying his hair and clutching his employee ID. He carried himself with the samehaughtiness that made up his entire personality.

Millie turned to look at everyone in the office.

Sebastian said to Winston with a frown, “Mr. Greer, I really can’t defend Joanna anymore.”

By now, everyone in the hospital had learned about Joanna’s falsified credentials. The best solutionwas for Joanna to resign willingly.

From Millie’s indifferent expression, Winston knew she no longer cared about the past incident with

Joanna.

He vividly remembered her excitedly telling him she had been admitted to the medical school. Sheeven offered to treat him to dinner, but she disappeared the next day.

When they finally met up again, she said to him, “Win, I lied. I didn’t get into medical school.”

But that turned out to be a lie. In reality, she had been accepted into the School of Medicine butdecided to give up her spot to Joanna. The thought broke his heart.

“Dr. Lloyd,” he addressed Sebastian.

Sebastian nodded. “Yes?”

“Just punish Joanna according to the rules. You don’t have to be lenient.” Staring at Millie, hecontinued, It’s best if you could issue a joint statement with the School of Medicine to explain thesituation surrounding Ms. Caldwell-”

He frowned. “Don’t you want the world to know you’re not a loser?”

“There’s nothing wrong with that nickname. I’m used to it anyway.” She smiled.

After a short pause, Winston arched an eyebrow and let her have her way. However, he wouldn’tback down on punishing Joanna. “Do not be soft on her.”

With that, he left.

Sighing, Millie wondered if he knew how to love. To love a woman was to side with herunconditionally. How could he refuse to settle the issue to protect Joanna’s dignity? He evenreminded Sebastian not to go easy on her.

Seemed like he didn’t know how to love at all.

She shook her head without a word. Just as she was about to leave, she heard a dull thud outsidethe opened windows.

Hazel leaned over the window to check out the situation. In the next moment, chaos broke out onthe ground. Hazel’s shriek cut through the air, attracting all attention.

Lainey looked annoyed. “What’s the screaming for?”

Hazel turned with a pale and stiff expression. She opened her mouth and whispered, “He… He’sdead… He … jumped…”

“What?” Lainey went over to Hazel, unhappy at the stammering. When she looked to the first floorand saw the bloody scene, she immediately turned and gulped.

She announced to everyone, “Yoel Marshall jumped off the building.”
