Chapter 391

In the end, Winston still went to the hospital. Lainey told him that Sonny might have been mistreatedin prison, which was why his health suffered greatly.

Winston strode into the ward. There, he saw that all the monitoring equipment had been removedfrom Sonny.

Sonny’s hand rested limply on the edge of the bed, and his eyes held a silent plea as he looked atWinston. He had something to say, but he couldn’t speak.

Winston understood that Sonny had no further use. Allowing him to survive this long had been anact of mercy.

Winston leaned in, his gaze cold and menacing as he stared at Sonny. “Sonny, I’m asking you onelast time. Was it Joanna who saved me back then?” he asked urgently.

Sonny looked at him, his eyes growing increasingly unfocused. His lips parted slightly, but his voicewas too soft for Winston to hear.

Suddenly, he grabbed Winston’s arm and gently traced a letter on his palm.

Winston frowned. “L?”

“Las in Joanna Lowell?” Winston pressed.

But Sonny continued to trace, over and over again. Just as Winston was about to ask further,Sonny’s gaze shifted to the door.

Winston followed his line of sight and saw Millie standing there.

Sonny tightened his grip on Winston’s sleeve. The latter turned back instantly. However, Sonny’seyes closed in the next second, and his hand fell.

Winston’s presence confirmed Millie’s suspicions. Sonny was indeed the one who had abductedWinston years ago. He was also the mastermind who had stabbed her.

But what was Winston doing there? Was he there to see Sonny one last time?

After that, doctors and nurses entered the ward to handle Sonny’s body.

Winston stepped back and grabbed Millie. Before he could speak, Eli suddenly barged in, saying,“Mr. Greer, there’s an urgent meeting.”

“Cancel it,” Winston instructed as he led Millie out.

“I don’t think that’s possible,” Eli replied, handing Winston the phone. It was a call from one of thesenior shareholders.

Eli glanced at the bed, only to see that Sonny was now covered with a white sheet,

Meanwhile, Millie pushed Winston away. She couldn’t help but think he was acting strangely.

“Millie, wait for me. I’ll come replace you once I’m done,” Winston told her.

He then cast a quick look at Eli and ordered in a low voice, “Let’s return to the office.”

Eli nodded in response.

On the way back to the office, Winston kept tracing the letter that Sonny had written on his palm.

When they stopped at a red light, he said to Eli, “Give me your hand. I’ll write a letter and see if youcan guess it.”

Though bewildered, Eli still extended his hand. Winston then imitated Sonny’s movements.

Eli looked up and asked, “L? Mr. Greer, you asked him who saved you, and this was the answer hegave?”

Winston responded with a grunt. It was clear that the answer had disappointed him.

“You’ve asked so many times, but the answer is always Ms. Lowell. Maybe it really was her,” Eliremarked while looking into the distance.

Winston massaged his temples, unable to hide his fatigue.

“Mr. Greer, if this meeting doesn’t resolve the issue, you might have to take another trip,” Elireported.

Winston said nothing.

Eli added, “Mr. Greer, can your body handle it? You need to be careful with your wound.”

Winston hummed in response and closed his eyes. Why was it “L“? For a moment, he wished ithadn’t

been so.

“The annual cruise party in Yerwick is coming up. Mr. Greer, I’ll make sure your formal wear isready.” Eli glanced back and asked, “Will you be attending with Ms. Lowell?”

Winston simply nodded lightly. “Eli,” he called out.

He lifted his head and wearily ordered, “I need you to check the medical records from the night ofmy abduction.”

Eli froze momentarily before promptly answering, “Gat it!”
