Xavier let out a chuckle that carried a tinge of affection. "We're taking photos. What else can it be?"

Xavier, who never accepted any interviews from the press, could not remember when was the last time he took a picture.

Truth be told, he never liked doing so. Just sitting without moving or posing while standing had always been difficult for him.

Nevertheless, he felt the sudden urge to take a photo with the woman next to him so that he could record the moment they spent together for eternity.

"Give me your phone," Xavier urged when he saw Winnie still engrossed with her chicken wings.

"Help yourself, Handsome. Don't disrupt me from my food."

Only then did Xavier reach out to take her phone. "What's your passcode?"

Despite hearing the question, Winnie could not be bothered to answer.

Is he actually asking a retard for a passcode? Would a retard give it to him? Didn't he just buy the phone for me today? Or....

Winnie knitted her brows slightly. Has he noticed something?

Putting down the bone, Winnie picked up the grilled mutton skewers. While eating, she would openly observe Xavier's expression.

However, nothing was suspicious about how earnestly he was looking at the picture.

In spite of that, he was no fool. There was no way he was oblivious to the flaws in her story about how she suddenly appeared on the island.

But so what if he's aware of them?

All that mattered to her was that she was happy and could achieve her objective.

"Handsome, have some." Since she did not like the fatty parts, she decided to give them to him.

Xavier was never keen on grilled food. Hence, he felt an inherent sense of resistance when Winnie held the mutton up to his mouth.

Even so, upon seeing the look of anticipation in her eyes, he relented by opening his mouth, despite knowing that this was nothing but an act.

Even though he felt the meat was too tough, spicy, and rich for him, he still swallowed it in the end.

After that, he pulled her into his arms and began taking selfies like the inexperienced photographer that he was.

Not only did he fail to pick a good angle, but his expression also looked rigid all the time.

in fact, it was so awkward that Winnie felt the urge to hire a professional photographer to do it.

"Handsome, you need to smile to look good in photos. Just do as I do."

While Winnie patiently smiled at the camera, Xavier just gawked at her like an idiot, almost causing the woman to burst her vessel.

Does he even know how to take a picture? Just get it over with and give me back my phone. I still need to continue discussing business with Christopher.

In the end, she decided to snatch back her phone and pressed the button for consecutive shots. In the midst of doing so, she swiftly stole a kiss from him with her lips still oily from eating. The slightly mysophobic Xavier would never allow his face to be stained by oil. At the very least, that was how it was in the past.

Now, he was not bothered by it at all.

He knew that she had stopped kissing him on her own accord ever since he kept his distance from her, brought Yulissa back to spite her, and was addressed by her as "Mr. Xavier." However, on that very day, the oily kiss she planted on his cheek felt like a signal to him.

Reaching an arm out, he wrapped it around her waist.

Caught by surprise, Winnie stumbled forward into his tight embrace.

Blinking her eyes, she waved her phone at him. "Handsome, now that we have taken the pictures, would you like to see them?"

With a darkened gaze, Xavier leaned closer to her. "Can I? Can I kiss you?"

Ahh... I just love the look in his eyes and raspy voice. If only I had a whip in my hand, I'd make sure he groveled at my feet. But forget it. I no longer need to play such games. Throwing her phone aside, Winnie raised her hands to touch his ears, which were already red just from her kiss.

Amidst the soft sand below them, she could feel his large hand on the back of her head.

To her, there was nothing more pleasurable and exhilarating than being with a desirable man, surrounded by the blue sky and turquoise ocean.

It was not until she got a grip of her hormones that Winnie turned around to pick up her phone.

Although it was on silent mode, she noticed the message light blinking and figured that it was likely from Christopher.

She then sat up with her back facing Xavier.

All of a sudden, a pair of hands grabbed her by the waist and pulled her back. Before she knew it, she was cocooned in a warm embrace.

Xavier rested his chin on top of her head. "Are you happy staying here? If you are, let's remain here for a few more days and just ignore everything else."

"I am. I'm happy spending every moment with you, replied Winnie, fiddling with his hand.

Unexpectedly, his grip around her waist tightened.

Holding her in a tight embrace, he added in a deep voice, "Don't lie to me, Dumbo, for I truly believe everything you say."

Winnie's mouth was left agape.

His words sound familiar. I feel as if I've heard the exact same thing recently. What does he mean by it? I'm sure he now knows I'm "Paulina," and the fact that I'm pretending to be a fool. After pondering for a moment, she let go of his fingers and turned around.

"Since when have you known-"

Just when she was about to come clean, the driver suddenly came over.

"Mr. Fairchild, I have bad news. Someone from the Briggs family led the island's residents over here. They were so despicable, as they asked an old lady to attack us. The bodyguard hurt his eyes because of that."

Xavier's brows furrowed the moment he heard the report.

Immediately, he grabbed his cane and stood up before ordering the driver, "Take me there."

Winnie, too, got to her feet.

When Xavier saw her swollen red lips, he could not help but want to leave his mark on her. Lowering his head, he held the back of her head and gave her another passionate kiss.

When he was done, he instructed, "Stay here and don't go out."

"All right." Winnie had no desire to continue her act. "Please be careful."

Xavier was stunned by the sudden change in her temperament, for she was no longer the Dumbo he knew.

If the driver had not interrupted them, she would have revealed the truth to him.

He nodded in acknowledgment. "I will. Just wait here for me."

With that, he turned around and walked toward the mansion.

It was not until he was gone that Winnie took out her phone and went through Christopher's messages.

When she was frolicking with Xavier on the beach, Christopher had sent her a few messages. A couple of them were long and required her undivided attention to read through. Just as she was doing so, Xavier turned back to look at her.

After all, she was everything to him. There was no way he was going to leave without looking back.

However, the moment he did, he realized she was not looking at him.

It's just been a few seconds, and she's already engrossed in her phone. Who sent her the message? Is it a man or a woman? What is their relationship?

As burning questions began flooding his mind, he felt suffocated by them-a sensation that he hated.

He wanted her to look at him as if he was the only person who mattered.

Driven by his possessiveness, Xavier strode back to Winnie's side.

Fortunately, she turned off her screen in the nick of time. "What is it?"

"Nothing much." Xavier took a deep breath as he leaned his head against her forehead, explaining in a deep voice, "I was just missing you and want you to always be by my side. Winnie, you have to come with

me."
