Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce! -
Chapter 1080 Luke Asked for Trouble
Sydney glared at Luke and hissed, "Don't you expect something good to happen to me?"
Julien also gave a solemn look. Luke was a bit intimidated. He waved his hand and gave a smile. "Sorry, Syd. I was joking. Don't get mad at me." "Hmph!" Sydney looked away and ignored him.
Seeing her put down her glass of water, Julien asked softly, "Is it about Greta?"
Although Julien asked the question, he was pretty sure of it.
It was Sydney who called the police to report the matter about Greta, so it was the only possible reason Sydney was summoned to the police station.
Julien contacted the police about ZX and the Squirrel team's bosses. If the police wanted to get more details about this matter, they should have contacted Julien, not Sydney.
Therefore, Julien guessed that the police called Sydney because of Greta's matter.
It turned out Julien's guess was right. Sydney nodded her head. "Yes. This case is many days old. Dallin got Greta a lawyer, so getting Greta's conviction took extra effort. I don't want to compromise, so the case was a dilemma. The police asked me to go to the station to discuss it."
Julien compressed his lips. His brows were furrowed.
Luke was leaning back on the couch, his hands behind his head. He grunted, "In my opinion, we had provided enough evidence that the court should not give the defendant a chance to defend herself. While in the end, she will be punished, the sentence will be postponed. Greta was exempted from the penalty for an additional period of time. It's annoying."
Sydney shrugged her shoulders.
She agreed with Luke.
She thought they had provided enough evidence and that Greta should be sentenced immediately.
But according to the law, Greta was entitled to get an attorney to defend her and try to get a reduced sentence.
While the attorney was trying to get her sentence reduced, she was detained at the police station, but she would not be transferred to prison.
The living conditions in police stations were much better than in prisons.
This was annoying to Sydney.
"It's okay." Julien responded. He suddenly stood up with his hands in his pants pockets. The cold look in his eyes was frightening. "Even though she's only staying at the police station right now, she'll be sent to jail sooner or later. By then, she'll pay her debt."
It was obvious that he would have someone get Greta in trouble in jail.
Sydney and Luke both understood Julien's undertone.
Sydney raised her eyebrows and said nothing.
Luke clapped his hands. "Good idea, Julien. Finally, you prove yourself as a man."
Julien narrowed his eyes and threatened, "Do you want to die?"
Luke shrugged his shoulders and answered, "No."
"Since you don't want to die, shut up." Julien hissed.
He then turned to Sydney and asked, "Are you going to the police station now?"
"Uh-huh." Sydney stretched and stood up. "I just promised the officer I'd be there in an hour."
"OK. I'll go with you." Julien lifted his wrist and looked at his watch.
Sydney smiled, "All right."
Seeing that the two had made their plan, Luke yawned and stood up as well.
"Alright. Since you guys are leaving, I'm not staying here anymore. You guys go to the police station. I won't go with you. I'm going back to my company."
"You should have gone back to your company a long time ago." Julien threw Luke a sidelong glance. "You can't keep following us. Don't you feel awkward always following us?"
Luke was infuriated. He pointed at Julien and retorted, his fingers trembling, "Julien, you..."
"Stop it, you guys." Sydney held his forehead and interrupted Luke, "That's enough. You must have been enemies in your past lives. That's why you always fight in this life. Luke, he didn't mess with you. Why did you mess with him?"
"I didn't mess with him." Luke retorted with wide eyes.
Sydney ignored him. She turned to Julien and spat, "You too! Sometimes when Luke doesn't mess with you, you mess with him to make him mad. Tell me, am I wrong?"
Julien's face froze. Then he looked away.
Sydney pointed at Luke.
Luke's mouth twitched. He turned his head to the side, too.
Neither man answered her.
Sydney wrapped her arms around her chest, stared at both men, and spat, "Why are you all silent? Guess I was right, huh? You guys are always trying to piss each other off."
Neither Julien nor Luke could refute her.
They didn't realize it before Sydney said it.
It was only now that Sydney picked it apart that they realized it was exactly like what she had said.
And actually, they knew why. It was simple.
They didn't like each other, so they picked on each other.
If one of them was happy, he'd try to piss off the other. Until the other was annoyed, he was satisfied.
Both men kept their heads down like children, and Sydney was amused. "Okay. I'm done talking about this. Luke, go back to your company. Thanks for what you did for me today."
Luke lifted his head up and waved his hand. "It's okay. I didn't do anything. I'd feel guilty if you thanked me."
Sydney laughed softly, "You worried about me and came here to help me figure things out. You issued a clarification. You did me a huge favor. I am truly grateful. I owe thanks to you. Am I right, Julien?" Julien cast Luke a cold glance; he didn't say anything.
Apparently, he agreed with what Sydney said.
"All right. Don't talk to him. Let's go." Julien took Sydney's hand.
Seeing Julien get so impatient, Sydney gave a wry smile. "Luke, bye."
"Bye." Luke waved his hand, "I'll leave in a moment. My assistant will pick me up. I drove your car here and parked it downstairs. I didn't drive my own car."
"OK. You can wait in my office. Bye." Sydney waved at Luke.
However, abruptly, Julien grabbed her wrist, pulled it down, and stopped her from waving.
'Julien is so jealous.' Luke mentally spat. 'He wouldn't even allow Syd to wave goodbye to me. He's so unreasonable!'
Sydney was speechless, too, but more than that, she felt amused.
She knew what a bossy man Julien was.
Especially when he was facing another man, he could easily be pissed off.
Eventually, Julien took Sydney out of the office. They drove towards the police station.
On the way, Julien suddenly asked as he was driving, "Do you think Luke will go to your secretary?"
Sydney was looking down at her cell phone. Hearing Julien's question, she immediately looked up and asked, "Will Luke go to Sean?"
Julien nodded.
Sydney shook her head in disbelief, "I don't think he will. Luke hates Sean. Why would he go to Sean? That would be asking for trouble himself."
Luke hated Sean. If he went to her, then he was out of his mind.
"Why are you asking me that?" Sydney blinked curiously.
Julien curled his lips and asked, "You just said Luke hates your secretary, right?"
