Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce!
Chapter 1170 Felicia's Teasing

Seeing her like that, Julien asked, "What's wrong?"

Behind her hands, the corner of Sydney's lips twitched.

'Do you have the nerve to ask me what is wrong?'

As she remained silent, Julien grabbed her wrist, trying to get her hands off her face. "Why are you covering your face? Don't you replace it hard to breathe like this? Put them down." But she wouldn't listen.

Sydney firmly pressed her hands against her face, not letting him take them off.

Unfortunately, her strength was not as great as Julien's.

He easily took her hands off, and then her flushed face was revealed.

His eyes darkened as he found that her face resembled a freshly washed apple with droplets of water on it. The scene was enticing.

If his grandmother weren't looking at them from the nearby pavilion, he would have cupped her face and kissed her.

After all, opportunities like this were rare.

A flicker of regret flashed across his eyes, and a nearly imperceptible sigh escaped his mouth.

'What a shame!'

"Why is your face so flushed? What's wrong?" he asked with concern, letting go of her hands and touching her burning cheek.

Sydney glared at him, sulking, "Didn't you hear what Felicia just said?"

Julien immediately realized the situation, and he chuckled. "What's the big deal? There is nothing to be shy of. Everyone knows about it."

He had thought she was blushing for some other reason.

It turned out that she was embarrassed by Felicia's teasing.

He had thought that she was sick.

"Of course, you don't think it's a big deal. You're thick-skinned, but I am not." Sydney snorted, glaring at him.

Julien patted her head, "Alright, alright. I am thick-skinned. But since it's already happened, there's no other way but to face it calmly. You can't be shy about it. What if Grandma teases you later? Will you be embarrassed again?"

Sydney pursed her lips, her silence indicating that she agreed with his words.

It made sense.

If she remained so shy, she would be embarrassed again later when Old Madam teased her.

'I couldn't just leave out of embarrassment. That would be rude.

'I have to face it.'

With that in mind, Sydney took a deep breath to calm down. Taking Julien's hands, she forced a smile and said, "Alright. There is no point in dwelling on this. I'm going to see Grandma, regardless of whether she will tease me. Let's go."

She then led Julien toward the pavilion.

But her stiff back, mechanical footsteps, and rigid smile gave away her reluctance.

Amused by her look, Julien scratched her palm.

The itch distracted her from thinking about how to deal with Old Madam's teasing later.

She clamped her fingers and looked at him discontentedly. "What are you doing?"

Confirming that she was no longer nervous and met with her dissatisfaction, Julien smiled with amusement.

'Be grateful, girl. I'm doing this for you.'

He had deliberately scratched her palm to divert her attention and ease her up.

But she repaid his kindness with a glare.

What could he do?

It was he who had spoiled her, and he had to live with it.

Julien groaned in his heart, but his eyes were full of indulgence as he shook his head with a smile. "Sorry, I didn't mean to. You can scratch back."

"I'm not as vengeful as you." Sydney snorted, turning her head back.

She continued to lead him toward the pavilion, and soon they arrived.

Sydney took a deep breath and gathered up the courage to call out, "Good morning, Grandma."

Keeping her eyes down, she didn't dare to look at Old Madam.

She was afraid of catching a glimpse of the same teasing look Felicia had given her earlier.

It would be super awkward.

Old Madam grinned from ear to ear, seeing how intimate they were. "Good morning. You guys are finally here. You were talking out there for so long. What did you guys talk about?" Sydney was relieved that Old Madam didn't tease them.

Julien led her to sit down across from Old Madam before replying, "Nothing. Just a little conversation between us."

"Alright! I won't press then," Old Madam said readily.

Then she laid her eyes on Sydney. A meaningful smile appeared on her face when she saw the lingering blush on Sydney's cheeks.

But just as she was about to say something, Julien suddenly pressed his fist against his mouth and coughed.

Old Madam looked over at him, and he slightly raised his eyelids.

Their eyes met, and they silently communicated.

Old Madam looked back at Sydney and gave a knowing smile.

She had taken the hint and decided not to tease Sydney.

She was afraid that Sydney would be shy and run away.

"By the way, when Leaf and I came over, we ran into my mom." Julien suddenly changed the topic and brought up Velma.

Old Madam paused from drinking tea. "You encountered Velma?"

"Yes." Julien nodded and got up to pour Sydney and himself a cup of tea.

He handed one cup to Sydney and asked, "Why brought her here?"

"Didn't you ask her?" Old Madam asked back.

Besides them, Sydney finally put her mind at ease as they talked about something serious rather than teasing her. The last bit of blush faded from her cheeks, and she relaxed, taking the cup and sipping the tea. She listened to their conversation quietly with no intention of chiming in.

It was about Velma, and she wasn't interested anyway.

"I asked her, but she just said goodbye and left," Julien replied.

Old Madam nodded. "It's nothing important. What else would she want to see me for? She wants me to persuade Jayden to focus on his studies rather than basketball. I ignored her and sent her away." She would honor her promise not to reveal the purpose of Velma's visit to Julien.

Velma truly cared for Julien, and she didn't want to see the mother and son drift apart because of the McDaniel family. It was not worth it.
