Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce! -
Chapter 759 He Is Fine for Now
Sydney thought, 'A car accident? How did that even happen?'
Sydney was in disbelief.
She had only just texted Julien no more than ten minutes ago. And he had told her he was on the way home.
And now, she suddenly heard that he had been in a car accident!
She thought, 'How the hell am I supposed to cope with that?'
She bit hard on her lower lip as her eyes turned red with tears. She felt a tightness in her chest, and she was heartbroken.
She knew how terrifying a car accident could be.
It could result either in minor injuries or end up being fatal.
Julien had already been through an accident once. Although he survived that one, could he survive this time?
Sydney had only just gotten him back. She wondered if she would lose him again.
The more she thought about it, the more frightened she became, and her breathing grew ragged once more.
On the other end of the phone, Zach had heard her question and cast Julien a brief look before saying, "Don't worry, Ms. Raines. He's fine for now, though he is still unconscious. I'm on my way to take Mr. Flint to the hospital."
"Is he really okay?" Sydney was worried as her nails sunk into the fabric of the armrest.
It was a car accident, after all.
Zach nodded vigorously. "Mr. Flint will be just fine. I was the driver. And if I am okay, Mr. Flint will pull through as well. More importantly, the accident wasn't a serious one. We merely ran into the flower bed on the sidewalk."
Upon hearing this, Sydney was relieved and believed his words.
Indeed, there were plenty of accident cases where the first to die of grievous injuries were the driver and the passenger in front. However, those in the backseat had a higher chance of survival.
If Zach was fine, Julien would pull through as well.
Thinking about this, Sydney let out a sigh of relief and was relieved. Her heart stopped twitching.
But why would Julien blackout?
Given his physical condition, he would not have passed out.
Zach had said that they ran into the flower bed on the roadside.
The impact on Zach was more harmful than that on Julien. However, if Zach was fine, it didn't make sense that Julien had fainted after the accident.
Narrowing her eyes, she was deep in thought for a few seconds. Then she gave up as she couldn't figure out an explanation for this. She didn't want to dwell on it, either.
What mattered now was that she could get to the hospital to see Julien.
With that in mind, she squeezed her hand and forced herself to stay calm. Then she stood up again. Bracing through the pain, she headed into her room. "Zach, which hospital are you heading toward? I'll be right over."
"The hospital where Dr. James works," said Zach.
It turned out Julien was going to be sent to the Prima Hospital.
Nodding, Sydney said, "Got it. I'll be on my way. Take good care of Julien. Call me if anything else happens."
"I will, Ms. Raines. Don't worry," said Zach.
Sydney forced out a smile and hung up the call. Then she hurried to put on a change of clothes and rushed out to the Prima Hospital.
Along the way, she clenched the steering wheel so tightly that her hands trembled, making the car swerve out of the lane every once in a while. Her driving was so dangerous that the other drivers even rolled down their windows to curse her as they overtook her.
But this was the least of her concerns. She bit her bottom lip as she stared at the road in front of her with red eyes. At the moment, all she could think about was Julien's safety.
Zach had said that Julien was fine for now, but it was only for now. She still didn't know if he was fine. Besides, Julien was on his way to the hospital. She couldn't completely rest assured until she heard the doctor's diagnosis.
Thus, she had to get to the hospital and stay by Julien's side as soon as possible.
However, sometimes, the more eager one wanted to achieve a wish, the harder it was to fulfill it.
Sydney had only just gotten onto the elevated bridge when she saw that there was heavy traffic on the bridge. It irritated her so much that she slapped the steering wheel hard. Then she burst into tears. Meanwhile, Zach had managed to get Julien to the hospital in time.
And Finn happened to be on duty tonight. Upon seeing Julien on the stretcher, Finn was astonished as he asked, "What the hell was going on?"
"Mr. Flint blacked out following a car accident, but your questions will have to wait, Dr. James. You need to save Mr. Flint right now! Come on!" Zach quickly pushed Finn into the emergency room. Finn frowned sternly. It was obvious that he didn't like someone treating him like this.
He was not a man of compassion. Most times, he would refuse to perform operations even though he could.
He knew full well that he could save lives if he had performed those surgeries. However, out of laziness or apathy, he had watched those patients die instead.
And he had done so without feeling even a trace of remorse.
Finn was not sentimental or humane at all.
Then, Finn shoved Zach aside and straightened his wrinkled sleeve as he said coldly, "You should be grateful that your boss is Sydney's boyfriend. Otherwise, given your behavior, I wouldn't save him, no matter how powerful he is."
"How could..." Zach was so surprised at Finn's outrageous words that he went furious.
However, Finn did not bother waiting for a response from Zach before he turned and went into the emergency room.
Seeing this, Zach had no choice but to hold back his anger.
Now that Finn had gone to save Julien, Zach couldn't lash out at Finn.
Scratching his hair in frustration, he crouched down and pulled out his phone. Then he informed Sydney through a text that Julien was currently undergoing emergency treatment by Finn.
When Sydney read this message, her knitted brow smoothed out. And she was finally relieved.
Now that Julien had safely arrived at the hospital and was receiving treatment from Finn, she believed that he would pull through.
She clutched her phone to her chest and tipped her head up slightly. Then she cried for joy. The frustration, helplessness, and desperation she had felt when she realized she was going to be held up in traffic and that she wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital in time finally subsided.
Over at the hospital, Zach was not anxious when he read Sydney's reply, which told him that it would take her a while to get to the hospital due to the traffic jam.
After all, the traffic was usually heavy in Port City.
And they would have been caught up in traffic as well had the traffic cop not turned on the siren and cleared the way.
"Excuse me, sir, now that your boss is receiving treatment, I'm going to need you and the lady to come with me so I can get your statements on how the accident happened," said the traffic cop as he approached Zach with a pen, notebook, and law enforcement recorder in hand, gesturing at the woman in the wheelchair.
"Alright." Zach gave the woman a cold look. He put the phone away and wiped his face. Then he got up and nodded his head in agreement.
The woman also agreed as she whispered, "Okay."
It wasn't a malicious car crash but rather an accidental one, so the traffic cop finished taking the statements soon.
Then they had to agree on a solution.
"I'm willing to pay the medical and rehabilitation bills. And I'll take care of him until he fully recovers." She said and glanced at the door of the emergency room as she clutched the armrests of her wheelchair tightly.
While it sounded like the most sensible solution, it would only work out if the person lying unconscious was not Julien.
"My boss doesn't need your petty money," Zach stared at the woman, deadpan.
For some reason, he found the woman familiar, even though he had never seen her anywhere before the accident.
Shaking his head, Zach did not ponder on this and brushed the thought off. Then he looked cold and furious. "My boss is the one who got injured, so I don't have the right to decide on these matters on his behalf. We'll have to settle this after he wakes up. As for you, don't you dare think of leaving until then!"
