Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce! -
Chapter 835 A Face-to-Face Talk
As expected, Sean was relieved when she found that Sydney just wanted to talk about work with her.
She lightly rubbed her tense face and then typed a reply.
Sean: [Okay, Ms. Raines. Where will we meet? I can go out anytime.]
Anyway, she was still on vacation and had a lot of free time..
Sydney looked at the watch on her wrist.
Sydney: [How about we meet at the cafeteria next to our company at ten o'clock?]
Sean agreed.
Sydney put down her phone and continued to eat.
Because of the phone calls and messages, her breakfast had almost turned cold now.
After taking a few mouthfuls in a hurry, she put down her fork and stopped eating.
Then she cleaned up the table, picked up her purse and went out.
While sitting in the office, all Sydney thought about was Sean's pregnancy, and she was in no mood to deal with the work.
Within an hour, she had only completed two or so tasks, and her work efficiency was far lower than usual.
She didn't calm herself down until receiving Julien's messages.
Sydney and Julien didn't chat for long, as Julien was very busy and he squeezed replies to her in.
After sending a few messages, he went on to work.
It was almost ten o'clock, and Sydney went downstairs to the cafeteria next to the company.
Sean arrived in advance. When Sydney stepped into the cafeteria, Sean had been waiting for her.
The moment their eyes met, Sean greeted Sydney with a wave.
Smiling, Sydney waved back and walked towards her.
Seeing Sydney coming, Sean immediately stood up and pulled out the chair opposite. "Ms. Raines, please sit down."
"Thank you." Sydney thanked her with a smile and sat down.
Then Sean sat on her own chair.
"What would you want to drink?" Staring at Sydney, Sean handed her the menu.
Sydney reached out to take it, flipped through it casually and ordered a cup of juice. Then she handed the menu to the waitress next to them without asking Sean what she wanted to drink. "Give her a cup of hot milk."
Before the waitress could respond, Sean frowned. "I don't want to drink milk. It smells too fishy."
"No." Sydney looked at her seriously. "You are pregnant. It's best to drink milk."
With a bang, the water glass in Sean's hand dropped on the table. The water in the glass splashed, wetting the tablecloth and the table in front of her.
Fortunately, the glass didn't roll to the ground. Otherwise, it would have been broken.
But Sean didn't care about the glass at all. She gazed at Sydney with a pale face, her pupils dilated. She opened her mouth and uttered in a flustered voice after a while, "Well, how..."
"You want to ask how I know it, right?" Sydney glanced at the mess calmly and interrupted Sean.
Sean opened her mouth again, but she didn't say a word this time, as Sydney's guess was right.
Sydney didn't explain it to Sean immediately. Instead, she said, "Be relaxed."
Then she faced the waitress. "Could you please tidy the table up for us?"
The waitress smiled politely, "Okay."
She took a rag and other cleaning tools to clean the table.
Only then did Sean realize that she had knocked over a glass in a panic just now, and she apologized guiltily, "I'm sorry."
"Madam, don't feel apologetic. I can clean it up. Luckily, you were not injured," The waitress responded with a smile and quickly wiped the table clean.
After the waitress left, only Sydney and Sean were there.
Facing Sydney, Sean became even more flustered and nervous.
She was so nervous that her hands on the table began trembling slightly, and she kept scratching her hands. There were several bright red marks on her fingers and the backs of her hands. Seeing this, Sydney sighed. "Well, don't scratch your hands. They were hurt."
When Sean looked down at her scratched hands, she immediately put them under the table.
Sydney picked up the glass, took a sip of water and then asked slowly, "You went to Prima Hospital for a prenatal checkup yesterday, right?"
Sean dilated her pupils, wanting to lie subconsciously. But meeting Sydney's dark eyes, she was stuck for words, remaining silent.
Sydney smiled. "Actually, the future dean of Prima Hospital is a friend of mine. You have also met him before."
"Do you mean Doctor James?" A man in a white coat crossed Sean's mind.
Sydney nodded. "Yeah, it's him."
When Sydney went to the hospital for an examination, Sean would accompany her sometimes.
So, Sean had met Finn.
"He saw you in the hospital yesterday. As you were my assistant, he paid special attention to you. Then he found out that you went to the department of gynecology and obstetrics for a checkup, so he called me and told me this morning," Sydney put down the glass and explained.
Sean bit her lower lip. "It turns out to be so. I thought that you discovered it yourself."
Sydney gave a smile. "You hid it so well. How could I replace out about it by myself? Well, you had a pregnancy reaction in front of me and deceived me by saying that you had got the runs. However, I didn't doubt your words. I had also been pregnant, but I was cheated so easily."
Sean laughed.
She knew that Sydney said these on purpose.
Sydney deliberately said that she was easily tricked by Sean, just to create a relaxing atmosphere and mitigate Sean's nervousness.
And Sydney's words worked, as Sean felt less tense.
"You've only been pregnant for more than two months. It's normal that you don't know much about pregnancy and was tricked by me," Sean replied after taking the milk given by the waitress.
Sydney took her juice, sipped it, and continued, "Yeah. But I didn't give you enough care. Otherwise, I would have realized that you were lying to me."
Sean shook her head. "You've been very kind to me, and you especially gave me a vacation."
Sydney looked at her. "How do you feel now? Finn said from the medical report, you were not in a good condition, as you were preoccupied with things. It would be bad if you continued doing so." "Doctor James even told this to you?" Sean was surprised.
Sydney stirred the juice in the cup. "Since he wanted to tell me about your pregnancy, he told me all the details."
"I got it." Sean nodded, not asking anymore. She answered, "I'm well now. It's just that my blood sugar is a little low, so I often feel dizzy. Besides, I tend to feel uncomfortable during pregnancy. There are no other problems."
"But these reactions are serious." Sydney frowned. "How about pausing work and taking a rest at home? You can come to work after you are three months pregnant."
"No, please don't bother." Upon hearing it, Sean shook her head and waved her hand. "I don't need more rest. I can go to work."
