Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce!
Chapter 889 All Julien's Fault

This was all Julien's fault.

If it were not for him, she wouldn't have fallen asleep from exhaustion and delayed her business.

She was really pissed off.

She decided to settle the score with him.

Sydney turned sideways and turned on the bedside lamp.

The room lit up in an instant.

Her vision became clear. She put her phone down, lifted the quilt, and got out of bed.

As soon as her feet landed on the floor, her legs suddenly felt weak. With a thud, she fell on all fours.

Luckily, the carpet was thick, and the sudden fall didn't hurt much. She was just embarrassed and blushed.

She was so weak because she hadn't eaten anything all day, and a certain part of her body was aching. It was strained when she got off the bed, thus her sudden fall. She looked down at her knees and hands. A pang of grievance rose from the bottom of her heart. The rims of her eyes reddened, and she kept muttering Julien's name. It was all his fault.

If it weren't for him, she wouldn't have awkwardly fallen on her knees.

The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she got.

Sydney bit her bottom lip. The tears were welling up in her eyes.

She had never been embarrassed like this before.

She felt that she had been through all kinds of humiliating events since she met Julien.

This man was really her nemesis.

She took a deep breath to fight back her tears. Putting her hands on the edge of the bed, she slowly propped herself up and sat down.

She was wearing pajamas. Probably, Julien got her changed after carrying her back.

She bent down and rolled up her trouser legs, trying to check on her knees.

The fall just now was pretty heavy.

Although it didn't hurt, she was not sure if there were any bruises.

She needed to have a checkup.

Once her trouser legs were rolled up, her slender calves were exposed. In the light, they glowed alluringly like jade.

Sydney carefully examined her knees and found that they were fine. Relieved, she put her trouser legs down, got up, and headed out with the help of the wall.

She had to walk like that.

That was because she was feeling weak and hungry. She could barely stand.

It was seven o'clock, and Julien was not in the room. She was not sure if he was in the living room or outside.

If he was in the living room, she would definitely bite him to vent her grievances.

Along the wall, Sydney got out of the bedroom and came to the living room.

The lights were dazzling. It indicated that Julien was in the apartment.

No one was in the living room. Probably, he was in the kitchen or the study which was renovated from the secondary bedroom.

At that, she turned left and headed to the study.

The door was slightly open, and the light came out of the crevice. She also faintly heard the clicks from the keyboard.

Now Sydney was certain that the man was inside.

She took a breath and pushed open the door.

Her movement was gentle and soundless.

The man in the study was unaware of it. Sitting behind the computer, he was immersed in his office work.

Sydney entered the study on tiptop lest the man should be disturbed.

The study used to belong to her alone. She could get in and make noises as she liked.

Now half of it belonged to this man. There was an extra desk, computer, chair, and bookshelf that was filled with books she didn't like or couldn't understand. These were all Julien's stuff.

He had many more things than she did. Her desk and computer were placed in the corner. They only took one-third of the study. The rest of the space was Julien's turf. He usurped her role and became the owner of the study. Now she was like an assistant who only had a seat in the office.

And she had to prevent herself from making noises and disturbing him.

This wasn't fair.

Then again, her clothes took up two-thirds of the closet in the bedroom.

Julien's expensive clothes only took up one-third of the space. It made her feel better.

She smiled and cleared her throat.

The man behind the luxurious desk heard it, stopped tapping on the keyboard, and looked over.

When Sydney was seen, his serious face immediately softened and his eyes glimmered with pleasure. "You're awake."

He stood up, pulled up the chair, and walked over to Sydney.

He stopped in front of her and looked at her. "Why didn't you tell me when you woke up?"

Sydney rolled her eyes. "I didn't know you were here."

"You could call me," Julien said.

Sydney shook her head. "It's alright. I'm not disabled. I don't need you to serve me."

"Don't talk nonsense." Julien poked her brow and frowned, "You're fine, but I'd like to serve you. Are you hungry?"

Sydney looked down and stroked her stomach which gurgled.

Julien chuckled, "Looks like you are. Let's go and have dinner."

He grabbed her hand and led her out of the room.

Sydney looked at his desk. "Aren't you busy? You were occupied. Why don't you go on with your work? I'll cook something for myself."

"It's not important. I can do it tomorrow." Julien opened the door and said blandly.

To him, no work was as important as her.

Compared with working, he'd rather keep her company.

In the living room, Julien pulled up the chair and sat her down.

Then he said, "Given me a minute. I'm going to the kitchen to get the food."

"Get?" Sydney straightened up and looked at him, "Dinner is ready?"

Julien nodded. "Yeah, it's in the oven, just a second."

He patted her on the shoulder and headed to the kitchen.

Soon, he came back with the dishes and a bowl of chicken soup. It smelled appetizing.

Julien handed her the fork and knife. "Dig in."

"What about you?" Sydney took them and asked.

Julien sat down across from her. "I've had dinner. Try these dishes I newly learned to cook." Sydney paused from picking up the dishes and looked at him in surprise. "You cooked them?" "Of course," Julien crowed, holding his head high.

Sydney laughed, "I don't have to taste them to know they're good. You're a fast learner after all." With that, she picked up a chunk of meat and put it into her mouth.
