Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce!
Chapter 907 Sydney's Self-Reproach

A flicker of slyness flashed across her eyes.

Julien's eyes captured it, and his heart lurched. On the surface, he remained calm and acted as if he hadn't noticed anything. "What is it?" "She asked if you treated me well. If not..." Sydney curled her lips.

Julien slightly tightened his grip on the glass. "What?"

Sydney looked at his hand and smiled behind her hand. "To shut you out of the door, of course, and she advised me to break up with you."

Julien's face darkened when he heard that.

He naturally knew that Mrs. Chase wanted him to treat Leaf well.

He was just not happy to hear the breakup part.

It hadn't been easy to get her back, and this was an inauspicious expression.

He didn't like to hear it.

"Well, how did you answer?" Julien asked gruffly, pursing his lips.

Sydney giggled at the sight of his unhappy face. "My answer is naturally affirmative, or else she would have come over."

As soon as Julien heard that, his agitation was gone.

He knew that she would not disappoint him.

"Don't worry, I'm aware of how nice you're to me. I won't talk through my hat." Sydney picked up the glass and also took a sip of water.

Julien hummed with a smile. "I know."

"So, when are you going over tonight? I'll reply to Mrs. Chase," Sydney asked, putting the glass down.

Julien checked out the time on his wristwatch, thought for a moment, and answered, "How about seven? I'll go to the old house and confirm something with my grandmother." He narrowed his eyes and showed a serious look.

He wanted to confirm if his grandmother knew that his mother had trained him to be like Dallin.

Noticing the change in Julien's expression, Sydney opened her mouth.

But in the end, she said nothing.

It was alright. Since he didn't specify what he was going to ask his grandmother, she chose not to press.

It was his privacy anyway.

After lunch, Julien held her on the sofa and kissed her till she was carried away and looked blankly at the ceiling. He chuckled with satisfaction and got up to leave.

Sydney heard the leaving footsteps, but she didn't see him off.

In a feeble state, she didn't even want to get up.

She was kind enough not to scold him.

After she washed the dishes and came out of the kitchen, this man took advantage of her on the pretext that he was upset about being another person's substitute and needed consolation. He was so cheeky.

Sydney withdrew her gaze from the ceiling and touched her swollen lips. Shame, annoyance, and amusement were written all over her face.

Putting her hands on the back of the sofa, she propped herself up and looked into the hallway.

No one was there.

Julien had already left.

Sydney withdrew her gaze and went to her room to change her clothes. She planned to go to Skylight Corporation.

She had planned to go in the morning but got held up by Dallin.

She had to go in the afternoon.

If not, she would be absent for two days, and those executives would complain about it since she was no longer the VP of the company. She was the chairman now. Following a sigh, Sydney took out the clothes from the wardrobe, put on makeup, grabbed her bag, and went out.

Absent for one and a half days, she felt different when she arrived at the office.

Shaking her head with a smile, she received the employees' greetings on her way to the elevator. On the top floor, she entered her office and put her bag down.

Before she could sit down, there was a knock on the door.

Sydney pulled up the chair, sat down, and said, "Come in."

The knock stopped, and the door opened. Then a figure in a black suit came in.

It was her secretary.

Sean's look changed a lot. Her hair was short and almost flush with her ears. Her signature high heels had been changed into flats. She had even changed her glasses.

The frame was still black, but the size was much smaller.

Surprised by the change, Sydney asked, "You came back to work so soon. You don't need more days to rest? And your..."

She pointed to Sean's hair.

Sean put the documents on the desk and responded with a smile, "I felt better after the vacation and came back to work. I'm used to intensive work and afraid of losing my tempo. As for my hair..."

She touched her hair, "My girlfriend regarded my former hairstyle rustic and noticed my stress before taking me to cut my hair. According to her, it would lighten my mood. Never have gotten my hair so short, I'm not sure if I look good."

"You look stunning." Sydney nodded, "It suits you well. Your friend really has taste."

She gave a thumbs up.

Sean blushed with embarrassment. "Thank you, I'm flattered."

"I'm telling the truth. You really look good, and the melancholy about you has been reduced a lot. It appears you have put yourself together."

"Yeah," Sean nodded, "I won't tell Mr. Chase about my pregnancy since he doesn't know. I'll abort the child and take it as if nothing happened. As for his attitude, I've got over it. Affection should be mutual. Since he doesn't like me, I won't cling to unrealistic ideas. I choose to move on and see him as my college classmate and former boss. Then I won't be upset anymore."

She forced a smile.

Sydney was distressed to see her like that. "Are you sure about it? You have liked him for so many years. Don't you feel regretful about letting go?"

Sean shook her head. "It may be regretful, but I don't have a choice. Mr. Chase doesn't like me, and my persistence won't change it. Or worse, it will annoy him further." Sydney didn't know how to respond.

It was true. Persistence might not yield anything.

Things would not work out between Sean and Luke.

Luke and she were in the same situation.

Sydney sighed and looked apologetically at Sean. "Maybe, I shouldn't have encouraged you to court Luke."

Sean's feelings for Luke could be traced back to their school days. She had concealed it till a few months ago.

Sydney found out and encouraged Sean to pursue her love.

Sean got the courage to confess, but things came to this.

It was her fault.
