Sir, Please Mellow Down A Bit -
Chapter 215
Chapter 215 To Be a Servant
The mirror in the bathroom was covered with a layer of mist. The man raised his hand to wipe it, revealing his cold and cool side profile. There seemed to be no sound in the room outside.
His eyes were slightly heavy, and his mind constantly revolved around the appearance of Lyra and Nore.
After putting on his bathrobe, he laughed at himself.
If he had realized what he wanted earlier, he would not have been tortured like this right now.
The bathroom door opened and the water mist dispersed. Sure enough, Lyra was no longer in the room. He could not tell what he was feeling. His eyes darkened a little and he was taking off his bathrobe when the door was pushed open. Lyra was stunned and quickly turned around. "You... you put on your clothes!" She did not expect him to come out so soon. And, she had witnessed this scene. Hank quickly put on the sweater and his Adam's apple rolled.
and asked in a clear voice, "Can I change the conditions?" Her fingers gripped the tray tightly. "Whether it is being a servant or going to the Barnwell group to sweep the toilet, I can accept it, except..." Except for the way he had mentioned, she was willing to put down all her pride. When she said this, she closed her eyes in pain. Hank's gaze fell on her. There was a bit of anxiety and hesitation. Lyra kept her head down and did not hear his response. She frowned. If he did not agree, she had no choice. "Or, can you give me a few more days? I can replace a way to get rid of the trouble. At most, one week. If I can't do it, I wil take all the responsibility for breaking the promise." The air was quiet for a long time. "What do you have to take the responsibility?"
He suddenly spoke. His voice was very close to her, almost above her head. "Nore?" "Can you not keep mentioning him?" Lyra frowned. It was a matter between them. Why did he have to involve others? She raised her head and suddenly bumped into his shoulder. Looking up, it was his extremely dark eyes. He slowly said, "Or you can stay by my side and work like a cow and a horse until the cooperation is over." Lyra did not catch the first part of what he said. She only heard that he agreed to her bargain. She immediately nodded. "Okay." "I will let Keith sort out the contract and give it to you later."
As Hank said this, he picked up the fruit tea on the table and drank it all in one gulp. Lyra breathed a sigh of relief. As she listened to the sound of footsteps fading away, her heart still beat non-stop. An hour later, Keith arrived.
"Isn't it a cooperation plan? What is this?" Lyra looked at the few pieces of paper in front of her and frowned. It was clearly an unequal treaty that Hank used to restrict her freedom. "This is the contract Mr. Barnwell wants to sign with you personally. If you break the contract, the cooperation between the Barnwell group and the Jones Group will immediately be void. Moreover, the Barnwell group will pursue all the responsibility of the Jones Group." Lyra gritted her teeth. She flipped to the last page and signed her name. "Miss Jones, aren't you going to read the content carefully?"
"There's no need for that."
Just as she finished speaking, Sister Zhang walked over and said, "Miss Jones, Mister just told me that he wanted to eat fish for dinner." "Let me cook?" Lyra was stunned for two seconds. "Yes," Sister Zhang nodded tactfully. Lyra took a deep breath and forced out a smile. "Okay, I'll go."
Anyway, it was not like she had not been ordered by Hank.
Lyra was busy in the kitchen and did not notice the figure walking through the living room and dining room after Keith left. "Sir, I'd better go in and help Miss Jones." Sister Zhang listened to the sounds coming from the kitchen from time to time and leaned over worriedly to look over.
"No need." Hank took a sip of coffee, frowned, and then dropped it on the table. "Lyra, pour coffee." Lyra was busy cutting vegetables. When she heard the sound, she walked out with a kitchen knife in her hand. "What?" Her face was still stained with fish scales. The man's gaze fell on her and he knocked on the table in displeasure. "Alright, I'll do it right away." Lyra had also adjusted her mentality. She poured water and made coffee in one go. She turned around and quickly walked into the kitchen. Then, there was a series of crackling sounds. The man picked up his coffee cup and took a sip. His lips could not help but curve into a smile. Sister Zhang wiped the decoration of the living room beside him. She shook her head helplessly and muttered in a low voice, "He clearly wanted to keep her by his side so that he can see her every day, but he doesn't say so." Hank heard it very clearly, and his smile instantly faded. Only then did Sister Zhang realize that she had been too nosy and hurriedly lowered her head to focus on her work. Suddenly, she felt a wave of dizziness. Sister Zhang shook her wrist and broke the vase in the living room.
Lyra heard the sound and hurriedly ran out. Seeing that Sister Zhang's hand was cut by a fragment, Hank stood at the side with a cold face, motionless. "Sir, I'm fine." She apologized while packing up her things. "Sister Zhang, don't move. I'll clean it up. You deal with the wound first. Mr. Barnwell, if you don't help, please move aside!" Lyra hurriedly pulled her up and looked at the stunned Hank. He was truly cold-blooded to the extreme! Lyra pulled Sister Zhang to bandage her wound. She lowered her head and picked the pieces out of her flesh bit by bit. "Sister Zhang, it might hurt a little. Please endure it a little." "It's fine. I can't feel my hand anymore," Sister Zhang smiled. Lyra's hand paused.
Sister Zhang sighed lightly, "The only wish I have now is to do something in the remaining time." Lyra had never seen Sister Zhang so sad. All of a sudden, she did not know what to do. "Miss Jones, do you think Sir is really cold? In fact, when he was young, he was a very lively and cheerful child. It was because his days were too bitter and there were thorns everywhere that he became colder and colder." Sister Zhang looked out of the window and thought of what had happened a long time ago. Lyra lowered her head to deal with the last piece of slag, then disinfected it and put on some medicine.
Throughout the whole process, Sister Zhang did not show any expression of pain. Instead, she told Lyra many things about Hank when he was a child. "In the past, Sir really liked reading storybooks..." Lyra just listened with no expression on her face. Sister Zhang tilted her head, and unknowingly, her entire wrist was bandaged. "You don't have to be so exaggerated. I can't work anymore," she said with a bitter smile. "I'll do your share." "Sister Zhang, no matter what he looks like in front of you, he is not like that to me." Lyra did not want to understand the person she once had loved so deeply, and she knew she hated him now. Besides, she had no ability to understand others in her current situation. “But..."
"At least, he can now have everything he wants as he pleases, right?" Lyra opened the door and went downstairs to the kitchen. At the corner of the door, Hank's deep and cold gaze followed her figure all the way until it was completely dark.
