Sky’s Rejection Chapter 67

(Dimitri’s POV)

As I woke up, I looked around my room. Wait, MY ROOM?

s**t, how did I end up here? I should be with Sky. I jumped out of bed, quickly throwing clothes on as I ran out of the pack house. Damn it, how long has Sky been alone? Has those rogues gotten to her while I decided to snooze? Why would I have done something this stupid?

As I burst into the pack’s hospital, I ran through the floors until I reached Sky’s room, without even thinking, I threw the door open, looking around frantically for my mate.

“First dude, there is no way you showered by the way you smell still. I told you to sleep, eat and shower. Sky will kill us both if she sees you like this. Did you not listen?” Dean complained as he had his hand plugging his nose. I took a whiff and realized he was right. Now to think of it I went to Dean to replace out what he had done and then agreed to rest while he took a watch over Sky. Damn it, I really do smell. My nose cringes at my odor and I definitely know Sky will kill me if I stink up her room with this stench.

“I woke up and completely forgot our whole conversation. I thought I left Sky alone and all I could keep thinking was if she was in danger.” I said in exhaustion. How could I forget what I was doing?

“You are fine man. I know how exhausted you have been for the last two weeks. I mean you have been sleeping for the last forty – eight hours. I am glad you ate before going to sleep though. You really do stink though dude. Use the shower in Sky’s room. I will have Diane bring some clothes and I am fine sitting here until you are done.” Dean said, as if he had no problems with the words leaving his mouth. My eyes widened in shock, I had been asleep for the last two days and Dean had been with my mate that whole time. s**t, Diane must be pissed.

“You are right. Thanks Dean. I really hope Diane isn’t mad you have been sitting with Sky the last two days.” I said, not having the energy to argue with him right now. I rise from my chair, as I head to the bathroom attached to Sky’s hospital room.

“Dude, she didn’t mind at all. She took a shift with me and when I had things to do Ty kept an eye on Sky. Plus, I had the doctor check on you a few times. I almost thought I was losing my Alpha and Luna to a type of come. “Dean chuckled at his own joke. “Though, your father and the counsel will be here in the next few hours, and I honestly am happy you are awake. I didn’t want to wake you but would prefer not to deal with them alone.”

I chuckled at the horrified tone in Dean’s voice before closing the bathroom door. Breath Di. Sky is fine. You had people watching over her while you slept. Nothing bad has happened.

‘Yet.’ Demon butts in, making me sigh in annoyance. Seriously Demon, you are not helping. He has been quiet since Sky has been asleep. I am not sure what is going on with him, but I do know that he has the worse time to start stating his input. What the hell does he even mean? saying yet as if he knows something will occur. Damn it Demon, now you have me stressing out and you are choosing to be quiet again.

Of course, he would.

I stripped out of my clothes, lost in thought. I switched the shower as hot as possible, hoping it burns the stench off of me. I hear a click, telling me Dean has just placed my clothes in the bathroom. No commotion, meaning nothing bad yet. My senses are going to be working double time after listening to Demon’s words, or should I say word.

I scrub my body over and over again as I just keep thinking about Sky being by my side. I need her back to face the counsel together and discuss everything that happened the dreadful night of the rogues getting on my territory. No matter how much investigation we do, we can’t quite figure out how they got to my territory and why they are targeting Sky. I was hoping Sky would have some answers, maybe the rogues let something slip. Diane thought they may have teleported on to the territory and that would make sense, but we can’t replace the entrance point. Normally teleportation has a strong stench to the area. She had no reasonable explanation on why they targeted my Luna though.

It could be they wanted to weaken me or maybe they knew she was a hybrid and felt threatened. They could also have been loyal to the old vampire King and taking revenge on his death. We can’t be certain though.

‘Mate.’ Demon growled in excitement. What is wrong with you? Sky is unconscious still. We were just in the room with her. Were you not paying attention? Why does Demon have to be so aggravating at a time like this? Instead of helping me through this separation with our mate, he’s fantasizing about her.

“Dimitri.” Sky whispered, I looked all around the bathroom frantically, coming up empty handed as I saw no one in here with me. What the f**k is going on with me? Am I imagining things now?

‘MATE.’ Demon bellowed in my head; I arched over in the shower. Shocking me at how powerful Demon is calling for his mate. I squeeze my head between my hands, trying to stop the echoing pain he is causing me. Demon knock it off, you are hurting us, and Sky is sleeping. Do not jerk her out of this semi coma or you could hurt our pup and mate.

“Dimitri, are you alright? Why are you screaming and on the ground in the shower? Did someone attack you? Are you hurt?” Dean frantically searched around the bathroom, as Diane ran in with the doctor a few seconds later. They both tried to reach for me, though I scouted away quickly. Demon growled, causing to startle the three people in front of me.

“Alpha, we are just trying to help you. Let me check you out.” The doctor said slowly as he tried to approach me again, slowly this time. Demon did a warning growl, freezing him to his spot.

Within seconds, my body felt like it was dumped in an ice-cold lake. My anger dissipated as Sky’s tingling touch wrapped around my torso.

“Leave.” Sky whispered, as I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. Even if this was my imagination at least Demon was being calmed by this fantasy.

“Luna, please allow me to examine you.” The doctor whispered, making me realize how crazy my mind is right now. I am beyond unstable if I am making up conversations with others and my mate. What is happening to me?

“You will, as soon as I have time with my mate. He needs me. Leave the Alpha and I alone for now.” Sky whispered as I felt becks of k****s lining my neck, down my shoulder and onto my back. This feels so real, even when I know I am making it all up. Dean must think I have lost my mind at this point. Though I am not sure I care right now, this fantasy is better than any reality. All I need right now is my mate and pup.

Demon grumbled in contentment. He must be happy with this fantasy as well. I wonder if I have fallen and hit my head. I honestly don’t care, feeling my mate again is all I have wanted.

“Dimitri, look at me.” Sky whispered in my ear. Look at her? What if she disappears right in front of my eyes? My heart can’t take anymore loss. I ignore her request as I lean back into her, feeling her body against me as I feel our pup kick my back. I don’t think he or she likes me against his mommy.

‘Look at mate, I want to see our mate. Please?’ Demon begs in my mind; I stand my ground by ignoring both of them. I can’t have this fantasy ending so quickly, I need just a few more minutes feeling my mate against me.

“Dimitri? Demon? I am begging you to look at me. I have been asleep too long and all I need right now is to see my mate. We have many things to discuss and if I heard Dean right it seems we have a meeting with your father and the counsel. I would like a few minutes with you before they show up.” Sky begged as I opened my eyes in confusion. How did she know about that? I guess if it’s just my imagination it must be because I knew about it.

I turned around slowly, staring at my mate. She was in her hospital gown, soaked from the water still pouring out of the shower spout. Could this really be Sky? It feels real. I reach out, rubbing my thumb over her cheek. Her chuckles feel the bathroom.

“Come on.” Sky says as she pulls me out of the shower. I watch as she wraps a towel around me and then herself. She grabs my hand as she leads us into the hospital room. The bed is empty. She’s awake. Sky is literally in front of me.

“Sky?” I question, as I wrap her in my arms. Squeezing all of my love and longing into her.

Her giggles bounce around the room, music to my ears. I stare into her eyes as I feel the pup trying to kick me away.

“I can’t believe our pup is moving. I have missed so much.” Sky whispers, a smile spreading across her face. “I have missed you Di. Thank you for being by ymy side and keeping me safe.”

Keeping her safe? I couldn’t even save her from the rogues, she had to save the pup and herself all alone. Before I could say a word, her lips crashed down onto mine. I pull her body impossibly closer to me, as I deepen our k**s. My tongue battling its way into her sweet mouth as vanilla swirls over my taste buds. Sky wraps her legs around my waist. I lean down, laying her on the bed, my body flush against her. My hand explores down her body, feeling every curve of her perfect body, ripping her wet clothes out of the way. My towel falls to the ground, either by my movements or hers.

Goddess, have I missed the feeling of my mate.

“Dimitri, take me, please?” Sky begged in a husky voice. I knew what she wanted and I knew how much I needed her as well. I needed to feel as one with her. Without arguing, I did exactly as my mate asked. Connecting our souls, bodys and minds all over again in a way that will never get old.
