Sold To The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 49
Aria’s POV
“Are my eyes deceiving me or are you wearing a pair of jeans today?” Sophia said with a whistle as we walked out of the servants quarters of the mansion together and I bit my l*p shyly, knowing that nothing got past Sophia without her speaking her mind about it.
But today, I was kind of hoping that she did because I wanted to know what she thought of my outfit. This morning, I had decided to wear a fitted small top and jeans just like Sophia had been hounding me about since I came to the pack.
I knew that I was curvy with my small bust, giving me the hour glass figure but I’d never thought about flaunting it, always being content because I loved sundresses and the freedom that came with not having my legs in a pair of jeans.
“Yes I am” I answered and she whistled, taking slower steps so that she could be behind me before she moved forward to where I was and matched my strides.
“Look at all that a*s that has been hiding away in all of those dresses. Girl, you are a total knockout and I’m sure that I’ve told you this a thousand times.”
As we turned to the right, she looped her arm through mine and whispered in my ear.
“Does this have anything to do with your special assignment?” She whispered in my ear with a devious grin and for a minute, I wondered why I had told her about it, because now she was going to definitely tease me to death.
Special assignment happened to be code word for going to see the Alpha to sing for him. It had been over two weeks since I was first gifted the guitar and since then, I had played for Roma almost every night. In his bedroom, in his study and even in the garden. He had requested that I played him some songs while I had selected some personal favorites and even the ones I had written.
At this point, singing was quickly becoming my favorite thing to do again. Especially because of who I sang to. There wasn’t a time where he wasn’t listening to me with rapt attention when I sang and then there were the times when he would sleep off and I’d spend time watching him like a creep.
He looked so gentle and young when he slept, all of the masks that he used to guard himself when he was awake stripped bare and I knew that it was wrong to keep my hopes up but I wanted him to like me the way I liked him.
And I liked him a whole lot. I didn’t know when it started and everytime that I reminded myself about the fact that I was embarking on something that could be futile, I’d see him and all of those doubts would evaporate.
“You’ve turned different shades of red. I’m assuming that I’m right.” Sophia nudged me and I laughed, reaching out to ruffle her hair.
“I’ll be going to the infirmary now” I told her and waved as we parted ways.
When I entered the infirmary, Scian wasn’t here yet but Scott was.
Besides Sophia, Scott was one of the wolves who had been exceptionally nice to me when I got to the pack. It helped that he was also one of the healers who had attended to me a couple of times.
His brown eyes brightened at the sight of me and I grinned, walking over to meet him.
“You look different today.” He said, looking at me from head to toe curiously as he tried to figure out what was different and I shrugged.
“Ah” His eyes lit up “Your hair is down again and you’re not wearing a dress. You look really good by the way and I mean everyday.” He answered with a smile and I smiled back, relieved to have gotten a second opinion on my wardrobe change for today.
Roma hadn’t called me yet to come and play for him today, but I was going to go regardless. He was busy with the preparations to host different packs in the coming weeks and the upcoming ball and I was sure that he’d need to relax.
I made a mental note to pass by the kitchen to ask for a lollipop on my way to his study. I’d found out that Roma had an obsession for sweets, especially the lollipops. When I had asked him about it, I’d found out that it was because of Scian. He used to smoke a lot in his teens when he was going through what I would call a rebellious phase, even though I was sure that Roma and rebel was a match made in heaven and he hadn’t stopped being one just because he was no longer a teenager. Scian had given him a lollipop and asked him to take that instead whenever he was stressed.
It was almost comical the first time I had seen him do it. Big bad Roma with a stick of sweet in his mouth and then once when I was playing a song for him, he had stuck out his purple colored tongue at me to make me laugh.
“What are you thinking about? You’re smiling really brightly.” Scott asked and I shrugged.
“Just here and there.”
Reaching into his pocket, Scott brought out a chocolate bar and handed it to me.
“I realized that you like chocolate and I I thought to get you one.” He rubbed the back of his neck shyly and I smiled, nudging him playfully.
“Awwww, now that you’ve done this, I’ve got to get you something too. What do you like?”
There was an expression on his face that I couldn’t quite decipher before he shrugged.
“The list is long, I guess. But I’d start with pastries. Lots of pastries.”
I nodded.
“Then I’ll get you something from the kitchen anytime I’m coming here. Is that good for you?”
He nodded with a smile and I turned around to head to Scian’s office to wait for her when he called out my name.
When I turned around, his expression was serious.
“Would you like to hang out some time? I mean, to like get to know each other and all? I like pastries and you like chocolates. I want to know more about you, if that’s okay.”
I nodded with a bright smile. It was nice to not feel like an outsider anymore.
“Sure, just let me know.” I replied and headed to Scian’s office.
For the rest of the day, I looked at the clock a thousand times, waiting for my free period and when it came, I ran to my room to get my guitar and head to Roma’s office.
If he wasn’t there, I’d check the West wing and if he wasn’t there, then I’d call him.
I wanted to surprise him today. I hoped he liked it.
But the first thought that came to my mind when I opened the door to his study excitedly without knocking was that maybe I was indeed delusional.
Because my eyes widened at the sight in front of me.
