Chapter 161

Upon noticing Alex, Reuben turned to him and scoffed, "Alex, do you really think this bunch of lowlifes is going to be enough to stop me from leaving?" "Well, they aren't going to be able to stop you. But I can," Alex declared confidently.

After studying Alex from head to toe, Reuben burst out laughing, "Have you mistaken me for someone of Freddie's caliber?"

"It doesn't matter how powerful you are. If you want to live to see tomorrow, return me my black card and destroy your own Mortal Force," Alex warned.

Since Reuben hadn't been planning on taking Alex's life, the latter was prepared to spare his in return.

There were many things that Charlie wasn't telling him. Thus, he planned on capturing Reuben and questioning him instead.

"Fine. Since you're forcing my hand, don't blame me for what happens next."

With a faint smile playing on his lips, Reuben pounced at Alex like a jaguar pouncing at its prey.

Unfazed, Alex calmly turned his body sideways and dodged Reuben's attack.

The moment Reuben missed his target, he immediately went in for his second attack.

Alex's eyes narrowed. Reuben was much stronger than he had expected.

Although their battle had just started, he could sense that Reuben was at least twice as strong as Freddie.

However, he wasn't afraid in the slightest.

He had been practicing the Nine Heaven Scrolls for some time now. What was more, he had completely assimilated the Divine Priest's relic. Thus, his Mortal Force was a lot stronger than it had been before. However, Alex soon began to have the upper hand.

Only then did Reuben start to get slightly flustered as a serious expression crept across his face.

He hadn't expected Alex's Mortal Force to be so strong.

As Alex slowly forced Reuben into a corner, things began to look rather bleak for him. There were even several instances where Alex nearly hit one of Reuben's vital points.

Upon seeing how strong Alex actually was, Charlie was incredibly surprised. His surprise, however, soon turned into excitement.

Among Susan's subordinates, Reuben ranked third in terms of combat prowess.

Now that Alex could easily defeat Reuben, didn't that mean that his combat prowess was nearly on par with the other two subordinates of Susan's who were stronger than Reuben? There's hope after all! Charlie thought excitedly.

Jack, Flynn and the rest were completely astonished as they watched both of them fighting.

Every blow between both of them seemed to ripple through the air. How many of those blows will our bones even be able to take?

They're so strong!

"This ends now!" Alex suddenly bellowed as he dashed towards Reuben.

Before Reuben could even finish his move, Alex had landed a blow on his chest.

Thud!

Reuben grunted heavily as his entire body flew backwards like a rag doll.

"Mr. Fuller!" Those young men exclaimed as they attempted to go to his aid.

However, Flynn and company immediately barred them from getting close.

The tiles on the floor shattered into a million pieces as Reuben came crashing onto it. "Blaargh!"

Ashen-faced, Reuben proceeded to spit out a mouthful of blood.

"You... Haha! You really are your father's son. And you certainly are a Jefferson. I underestimated you!" Reuben smiled wryly while watching Alex walk towards him.

He knew that it was over for him. Furthermore, he had a feeling that Susan was going to be defeated at the hands of Alex as well.

Alex's combat prowess was beyond his wildest imaginations. Coupled with the fact that Susan had always been rather arrogant, she was bound to be defeated by Alex. "You win. Here's your card," Reuben conceded and tossed the black card back towards Alex.

Catching the card, Alex put it in his wallet and said, "You have two choices now. I can allow you to live if you let me destroy your Mortal Force. Otherwise, I'll kill you right now." His voice was deep and resolute.

The only reason he was giving Reuben a choice was because Reuben hadn't planned on taking his life since the very beginning.

But of course, that didn't mean that he was letting Reuben off the hook.

He couldn't risk that man telling Susan what he knew.

"Living in shame is much better than dying, isn't it?"

Smiling dejectedly, a determined expression flashed across Reuben's eyes and he proceeded to hit one of the vital points on his abdomen.

This was one of the key vital points where one would accumulate his or her Mortal Force. Once it had been penetrated, one's Mortal Force would rapidly leak out of his or her body. Reuben's face immediately became as pale as a sheet.

He seemed to have aged a decade in a matter of seconds.
