Son-In-Law Gets an Upgrade -
Chapter 163
Chapter 163
He's in Doomsday Prison," Reuben replied.
"Doomsday Prison?"
Alex's heart skipped a beat. "Where is this Doomsday Prison? What kind of a place is it? Why is my father there?"
Faced with this barrage of questions, Reuben explained calmly, "The Doomsday Prison is an extremely mysterious organization. Its prisoners are some of the world's strongest fighters. Other than the patriarchs of a few families in Lumenopolis, not many people know the exact location of this prison. And not many people know what kind of a place it is."
He continued, "But you have to remember that it would be foolish for even a Master to try and break into that prison. The prisoners held inside are at least at the levels of Masters and Grandmasters. As for why your father ended up inside, he fell for one of Susan's schemes and was sent in there after she used her connections within the Morrison family."
Putting down the bowl, Reuben looked at Alex and said, "Alex, I know that you're really strong. In fact, it seems like you're on the verge of becoming a Master yourself. But you're still too weak to save your father. Even if you are a Grandmaster, you still might not be able to save him."
After a moment's silence, Alex nodded his head.
He did know a thing or two about these rankings.
Disciple, Warrior, Expert, Master, Grandmaster...
There were rumors of even higher ranks as well. However, Alex had yet to learn much about them.
He was now currently at the later stages of the Expert rank and he had no idea when he was going to achieve the Master rank. What was more, in order to break into the prison, he would still have to attain and surpass an even higher rank- Grandmaster...
Alex had no idea when he would be able to do so.
"Just keep your head down and live through these couple years. Once Susan dies, you guys will be able to regain your freedom." Alex got to his feet and opened the metal door before walking out. Doomsday Prison!
Surpassing the Grandmaster rank!
Alex balled his fists. No matter how hard it was going to take, he was going to save his father!
By the time he had returned home, it was already midnight.
Heather hadn't turned in yet. Upon hearing the sound of the door opening, she came out to see who it was. She then prepared to head back to her room without even saying a word after seeing that it was Alex.
All of a sudden, she found the clothes that he was wearing rather familiar.
Wasn't Chairman wearing this shirt back in the bar?
Dumbfounded, she stared at Alex in disbelief.
She couldn't believe that the person who had saved her back at the bar was Alex!
Impossible!
That's impossible!
Chapter 163
If that guy were Alex, then would mean that he's Chairman!
How could that even be possible?
Heather shook her head to clear her thoughts. That's crazy!
I actually thought that Alex is Chairman for a moment! How ridiculous!
Upon coming to this conclusion, Heather asked him coldly, "Where have you been? Why did you come back so late?"
"I went to have a drink," Alex replied.
"Have you thought over my proposition?" Heather asked after a brief pause.
Alex halted in his tracks. Gazing at Heather, Alex replied firmly, "Stanley's only four, Heather. If we are to get divorced, it will definitely affect his upbringing negatively. Just take a look at the children from broker families. They all have a certain degree of psychological trauma. That's why, for the sake of Stanley, I won't get a divorce with you."
Heather fell silent after hearing what he had said. Indeed, she hadn't thought this far.
All she felt was that Alex and she were no longer suited to be husband and wife. That was why she just wanted to end this marriage.
"Do you
think that both of us are still suited for each other?" Heather mocked.
"Can't you sacrifice just a little so that our son can grow up healthily?" Alex frowned.
"I'm capable of bringing up our son right. You don't have to worry about that," Heather snapped.
"Haha. Fine, we can have a divorce if you insist. My only condition, however, is that Stanley stays with me. Come look for me again after you've thought it through," Alex snorted before pushing open the door to their son's room and going in to rest.
Heather was dumbfounded. Of course, she couldn't hand her son over to Alex. Upon seeing how firm he was, however, she couldn't help but start to hesitate. After giving it a lot of thought, she eventually sighed and returned to her room. Since they couldn't come to an agreement, they could only take things slowly.
