Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 80

Sophia’s POV

I woke up feeling great. I actually thought I might be able to eat something. These meds were amazing. I just hope that it is enough that I continue to feel better. I had a mind link for Xander last night, but I didn’t reply back to him. I was tired and wasn’t ready to talk to him yet. I was thinking about pressing the call light button to see if I could eat when Doc came in pulling a machine with him.

“Good morning, Sophia, how are you feeling?”

“Much better, thank you. I was actually thinking I could eat something.”

” That’s great, I will have a nurse bring you something to eat. How about if first we take a look at your baby.”

“Really?”

” Yes, I want to make sure that it is growing good. Lay back and we will try an ultrasound on your belly first. If we can’t see them that way, we may have to do an internal ultrasound since it is early. Go ahead and lay back and pull your shirt up for me.”

I laid back on the bed and pulled my shirt up. I closed my eyes. I can’t look yet. It had to be OK. I couldn’t handle another loss. Not like this.

“Oh, my. I know why you have been so sick.”

“What is wrong doc?”

“Nothing, take a look for yourself.”

I finally looked up and saw two little blobs flutter in there.

“Is that?”

“Sure is, you’re having twins and you’re a little further along than we originally thought. I would say you are about four to five weeks.”

“Oh, my goddess. I am having twins.” I said as I started to cry.

“I am going to say you will deliver anywhere from four to five months. As you know, a wolf’s gestation is shorter than a human’s and since you are having either Alpha or Beta pups and it’s twins you will likely deliver early.”

“I will print you some pictures and get you some breakfast and then you can go home.”

“Thank you, doc, and please again don’t say anything.”

“Of course not.”

“Stella, can you believe it were having twins.”

She didn’t respond to me but started purring. She was so happy.

Doc came back in with an envelope with my pictures and a tray of breakfast. He set them both down and walked out of the room.

I dug into my food. I had scrambled eggs, bacon and some toast. It was so good. I hadn’t had real food in what felt like forever. I finished my food, and a nurse came in and took out my IV. I walked out Jarrod stood at my door.

“Ready to go home?” He asked.

“Extremely ready.”

He walked me back to the pack house. When we entered the pack house, everyone scattered away from us. I am sure yesterday’s incident had them scared to be around me. Emerald wolves have a reputation for being uncontrollable. I didn’t care, she deserved it. She deserved more.

“I think I will go take a shower and then replace Lucy. Thank you for staying outside my door all night.”

“It was my pleasure, Luna. Please let me know if you need anything else.”

I headed upstairs to the beta floor. I ran into Ashley as I got up there.

“How are you, Luna?”

“Please call me Sophia and I am OK, how are you?”

“I am OK, can I ask you something?”

“Of course, you can ask me anything.”

“I think I am pregnant, and I don’t know the doctor here. Can you point me in the right direction?”

“Seriously, that is amazing! How are you feeling?”

“Scared, we weren’t exactly planning this, but I know we both want pups.”

“Let me shower and change and we can walk over together. Doc is amazing. He will help you.”

“Thank you, just knock on my door when you’re ready.”

I walked into my bedroom. What are the chances that she was pregnant at the same time as me? Kane and Konner grew up with Xander and they were like brothers and now we were both having babies at the same time. Our kids would grow up together.

I took my shower and walked her to the hospital. She asked me to stay, and we learned that she was definitely pregnant and was due the week before me. Our babies would be close. I loved this idea. I wasn’t ready to tell her about me though. When we got home, I went to replace Lucy and Luna Caroline. I found them in her room. When I walked in Lucy ran right to me.

“Mommy, your back!”

“Sorry princess. I didn’t mean to scare you the other day. I just haven’t felt good. Have you been having fun?”

“Grandpa played princess with me last night. He even wore a crown.”

I looked at Luna Caroline who busted up laughing.

“Trust me I took pictures.”

“Thats great, you will need to make me copies.”

“Grandma said I was staying with her until daddy comes home. Are you here to take me home?”

“Do you want to go home?”

“No grandpa said we could have a tea party tonight.”

“OK princess. How about we go and have dinner together?”

“Can I have chicken nuggets?”

“I don’t know what they have down there, but if there are chicken nuggets down there you can have them.”

She grabbed my hand and led me downstairs. When we entered the dining hall, it got eerily quiet. Everyone just stared at me.

“Girl, let them stare. They are just jealous that we are awesome, and they aren’t.” Stella linked me.

I just took Lucy to sit down and then went to fix our plates. She was sad there were no chicken nuggets, but I told her I would put in a special request with the kitchen. This seemed to appease her. After finishing dinner, I walked her back up to Luna Caroline and Alpha Ty was there.

“Grandpa, we can have our tea party now.” She yelled as soon as we walked into the room.

“Yes, we can, princess. Let’s go get set up.”

“Thank you guys for taking her. I am going to go to bed.”

I walked back down to the beta floor and passed out in bed. I was exhausted.

I woke up the next morning and just laid in bed thinking about everything that has happened lately.

It has now been four days since Xander left. He had not tried to mind link me since that first night. I was still so angry with him, but the stupid mate bond was making it hard to stay that way. I missed him but I had to stay strong and show him that I deserve better.

I got out of bed and went to shower but was hit with nausea again. I ended up puking up everything in my system and then some. Once I felt better, I was able to get in the shower. After my shower, I crawled back into bed and went back to sleep. I managed a few hours before the nausea came back. I ran to the bathroom dry heaving. I sat hovering over the toilet waiting for it to hit again and it didn’t take long. When I finally felt like I could get up. I stood up and got really dizzy. I reached out to grab the wall, but it was spinning, and I couldn’t get my bearings. I started to fall towards the edge of the tub.

I hit the edge of the tub with my face and started to see stars immediately. It didn’t take long for the blackness to consume.
