Speak To Me -
Chapter 139 –
(Gabriella)
"Yeah, r-right there..that f-feels so good b-baby." I moaned, tilting my head back as I let out a content sight.
"See..and that's why we don't spend two hours shopping at the mall..you need to start taking it easy baby.." Jamie scolded me as he pressed his thumb into the arch of my foot, making me groan.
Wow, this feels so good..it's exactly what I needed after the long day we had.
Grant asked us to meet him at the mall to get some things for Sammy. He has decided to take him back to the home he is renting currently until we figure out what to do exactly.
Eva still hasn't reported a single thing to the police...Mr. X is watching her closely and at one point she went out and began searching for him. She spent two hours looking and gave up, going to the bar and getting wasted instead. Jamie had to stop telling me things because he saw how mad it made me..and for our babies sake, it probably was best I didn't hear it..
That woman just makes me so angry! I swear the next time I see her I won't he able to hold back..
Stephanie, Dr. Steven's daughter, has been keeping in touch with Grant just to make sure things are going smoothly..which they are. Sammy is totally coming out of his shell. He even FaceTimed with us a few times.
We haven't exactly told Jolie or Rylan about what's been going on..in fact..Jamie hasn't heard from Rylan in a week. He has gotten a few texts here and there..but no calls or random visits..it's weird.. Even Jolie doesn't know what's going on exactly.
I can see it's starting to get on Jamie's nerves a little. But I say it's a small taste of his own medicine..he used to ignore Rylan's calls all the time! I just hope he is okay and nothing bad is going on. I know they had that fight with their mom, so maybe he is just going through a rough time.
"Next time we are stopping when I say we need to..I knew you were going to be sore. I can't believe Grant dragged you around all those places..doesn't he realize you are carrying twins?!"
Jamie ranted, getting fired up for no reason.
"Mhmm..less t-talking, more r-rubbing." I grumbled, waving my hand at Jamie dismissively.
Jamie just laughed, his head bending down as he placed a soft kiss on the inside of my ankle.
"How the hell can your feet be perfect too..I swear you don't have a single flaw." He mumbled, making me giggle as I looked into those mischievous honey-brown eyes..
"Are y-you trying to s-seduce me Mr. S-Sinclair?" I asked suspiciously, making Jamie smirk before shrugging his broad shoulders sheepishly.
That's when he dragged his lips up, trailing kisses across my smooth leg.
"Is it working?" My husband asked curiously as I just nodded in response before pulling my foot from his grasp.
"I b-believe it is." I breathed, feeling that desire I always have for Jamie rising as I sat up and went to crawl into Jamie's lap.
But before I could even reach him, my phone started to go off, making Jamie frown.
"If that's Rylan calling now..I'm going to snap." He mumbled while I let out a laugh.
Jamie reached over, his hand grabbing the phone as I just sat in his lap, waiting patiently.
"It's your dad." He informed me before handing me the phone.
"I wonder if h-he is heading t-to the airport already." I said curiously before hitting the green button on the screen and putting the call on speakerphone.
"Hi D-Daddy." I answered, watching as Jamie reached his hand up, tucking my long hair behind my ear.
"Hey Bunny, how are you feeling? Any news on the babies?"
"I'm feeling g-great. We have our n-next ultrasound in t-two weeks." I informed him wondering how Katrina was doing and if their dinner went okay.
Dad has been keeping me informed with texts and pictures. He usually calls once a night while he's been gone and tells me all about Katrina's recovery and the time he spends with her.
"H-how is Katrina doing? Are y-you at the airport already?" I asked, feeling Jamie start to play with my hair as he kept one hand around my waist, holding me firmly in his lap.
"Not yet, I'm going to be leaving in an hour or so..but, sweetheart, Kat is here with me..and she says she would like to speak with you." Dad suddenly said, making my eyes widen as I looked at Jamie, feeling surprised.
"If it's too much right now, I understand..we can do it another time."
"N-no.....I would l-l-love to." I stuttered out, prompting Jamie to shift slightly as his expression turned more serious.
"Just take it slow baby. I know you are nervous, deep breaths remember?" He coached me, knowing that my stutter was about to get worse.
I nodded hastily, taking in a deep breath as I let it out slowly. I knew this day would come eventually..but I wasn't sure when. I didn't want to put any pressure on Katrina, considering her situation but I know this has to be done. "Okay Bunny, here she is." My dad informed me as the phone went quiet for a moment.
Then another male voice began to speak as I heard some type of talking.
"It's okay, just start by saying hi." The man said and then I felt my heart start to race.
"Hi Gabriella..um..how are you?" A small voice spoke, the sound so foreign to me as I honestly had no recognition of it. That's how much I didn't really know my own sister. I had forgotten what she even sounded like.
"H-hi K-K-Katrina..h-how are y-y-you." I choked out, closing my eyes tightly as embarrassment filled me.
Of course I had to sound like an idiot right now in front of her..why couldn't I speak like I usually do?
"Baby, look at me." Jamie rushed out, gripping my face firmly before I slowly opened my eyes.
"You can do this..just relax..I am right here with you okay?" He reassured me, making me nod once more as I took another deep breath and let it out..feeling much more calm this time.
"Wow..it's really great to hear your voice Gabriella." Katrina reaponded, her words surprising me as I cleared my throat and took one last deep breath.
"It's great t-to hear yours too..sorry my s-s-stutter gets worse when I'm nervous." I explained, feeling a lot better with that as I saw Jamie smiling at me now, giving me that confidence I needed.
"You don't need to apologize..you are doing well. A lot has changed the last few month, hasn't it?" She stated, sounding almost sad when she spoke. Hearing her compliment me was surprising..but Daddy did say Katrina has changed alot...maybe he was right. "Y-yes it has. Katrina..I'm s-sorry about what you had to g-go through."
"Stop..please don't don't that.." She blurted, making my brow furrow as Jamie stiffened slightly.
"D-do what?" I squeaked, feeling like I said something wrong now.
"Apologize..you are the last person who should be apologizing to me..in fact..I should be apologizing to you.." Suddenly she burst into tears, causing me to slap my hand over my mouth as the sound of her crying made my own tears appear immediately. "I have been so horrible to you Gabriella..some days..when I think about the way I treated you..I almost wish I died in that fire.." She cried.
"D-don't say th-that Katrina..I w-would never w-want that." I choked out, feeling Jamie wrap his arms around me now while pulling me against his chest.
"I wish I could go back and change everything..I would stand up for you Gabriella..I would protect you and care for you..I would do it all different..I wish I could do it all differently."
Her voice was raw with emotion, her words seeping deep inside of me as I thought I would never hear them in my life..not from any of them but my dad. I never knew Katrina felt this way..between her and Cecelia, she obviously wasn't the worst..but she also didn't seem to care. She would treat me like I didn't exist. Occasionally she would help Cecelia and Regina teach me a lesson, but she never instigated it on her own.
"W-well..now is our s-second chance K-Katrina..We can m-move on from the past." I sniffled, hearing the call go quiet now as Jamie wiped away my tears.
"Move on? After all I did to you? But.....I don't deserve that Gabriella.." Katrina stated bluntly, seeming to be shocked by my suggestion.
"Isn't that for m-me to decide?" I said gently, wanting her to know I was truly willing to do this. "Gabriella.."
"K-Katrina..things are d-different now..I'm different now..and I think y-you are too.."
I know this won't be something that happens over night..and I might not fully trust her..but if she is genuine about all of this and means what she said, then maybe one day we really can be sisters. I know..that is skipping a whole lot of steps..but it's something I always dreamed about. Even though my life is pretty full right now..this is something that can make it even fuller.
"Okay, I would love that..really..but if you change your mind, I totally understand. I want to do this at your pace.." She rushed out, making me sigh with relief as I heard someone laugh on the other end.
"See, I told you it would all be okay." The man from earlier spoke and I had a sneaking suspicion that was one of Grant's brothers. The one he has told me about that has been caring for Katrina. "W-well, maybe one day soon I can come d-down to visit you." I added, causing Jamie to frown as he shook his head no.
"The babies." He mouth, and I just patted him on the chest. You can still fly when you are pregnant..and it's not like I'm having the babies soon..we still have months.
"Really? That would be amazing. I mean, if you can..if not, we can just talk on the phone and stuff!" She added.
"I w-will talk to Jamie about it. I'm sure it w-will be fine."
"Okay..thank you Gabriella..thank you so much."
And with that, we hung up the phone.
I instantly fell against Jamie's chest, my face smooshing into him as I let out a loud sigh.
"You okay baby?" He asked, making me nod my head up and now.
"I think you could use a bath..what do you say Princess? I can finish that massage..is that what you want?"
"Yes." I sobbed, feeling completely overwhelmed as Jamie lifted me up, carrying me to our room as he kissed my face and cheeks sweetly.
"Let me take care of you."
That sounded pretty great..what would I do without this man? Seriously...he has changed my whole life..and I will never take a single second for granted.
