“It's not Kevin!" Monica immediately denied, afraid that her motherwould dig deeper into the innocent assistant's background. So shehurriedly continued, "Kevin is my boyfriend's assistant! My boyfriendasked him to help me book the room! Don't target the wrong person!"Belinda didn't believe a single word. She looked at her daughter,scrutinizing her. "Stop beating around the bush. I don't want to hear anyof it. Just a few days have passed, and you already found a boyfriend?"“The president of Clarke Corp, Tristan!" Monica had to make herbelieve. "I don't know if you've heard of him?"

Clarke Corp? Ha!

Belinda scoffed at her, "What nonsense are you talking about? Thepresident of Clarke Corp is Zack Clarke; we're old acquaintances!"“Tristan is his son, and the company has already been handed over tohim for management!" Her daughter countered, "Since you're oldacquaintances, how come you don't know about this?"

Seeing her daughter speak so confidently, Belinda didn't dare refute itoutright, as they hadn't been in touch for some time.

Belinda only said this, "Call him and ask him to come and meet me!""Belinda, he's a CEO, you know. His schedule is planned well inadvance, which you should be aware of!" Monica took a sip of tea andsmiled, "However, he knows you're coming, so he'll arrange time tomeet as soon as possible.”

Belinda stepped forward and handed it to her, “Take a look foryourself!"

The girl took it and sat down on the sofa. As she took out the contentsfrom the bag, she glanced at her mother a few times, wondering if shewas being forced to sign some unfair agreement.

Belinda stood in front of the coffee table, her arms crossed as shecalmly looked down at her daughter.

As she took out the documents, several photos of a man fell onto thecoffee table.

Monica was startled and picked up the photos to look at them, all of thesame man.

He was wearing a light blue handmade suit, holding a mocha, half-leaning against the corner of his desk, with a touch of tenderness in hisdeep eyes.

In the second photo, he was sitting at his desk, typing diligently, andlooking more composed in his black suit.

The third photo was a casual shot by the sea, free-spirited, andunrestrained. He was tall and had a sunny smile.

"His name is Tom Fritz, and he's your blind date," Belinda mentionedher prospective son-in-law, a soft light in her eyes. "He graduated fromColumbia University, is 35 years old this year, and all his experiencesand achievements are clearly shown in the documents. You can take acloser look; he's definitely a gem among men."

Monica didn't look at the documents; she even put down the photosand stood up. "Excuse me, but you've taken a liking to him, haven'tyou?"

"Yes." Belinda didn't hide it, nodding with a smile, "He's one in amillion.”

Monica didn't argue but just nodded thoughtfully, "Alright, since you likehim, I'll give you my blessing!" She smiled and asked, "Are we meetinghim tomorrow?"

Her daughter's change in attitude left Belinda a little confused. What didshe mean?

Wasn't she just saying she had a boyfriend?

Why did she suddenly drop that topic?

Hmph, liar! There must be something wrong!

So Belinda didn't think too deeply about it.

She was only half-believing her daughter's words, and anyway, shewouldn't sleep tonight! She would guard this door, making it impossiblefor Monica to escape under her watch again!
