Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 167 Where Are The Two Kids

If Doris were to accept these properties, it would imply that what Jennie and Eric guessed was in fact true. That she got closer to Jay for financial benefits.

Doris was aware about this.

She watched Landon in a coma, bid goodbye to him in silence, and walked out.

Tears welled up in her eyes and streamed down her cheeks.

She wiped her tears with a tissue.

At that moment, Nancy came.

"What's wrong, Doris?" she asked gently.

Yesterday, she got the news that Landon was seriously ill. In the past few days, she had been busy with the hospital's affairs, and she didn't get along well with Charles. She was so preoccupied that she didn't even have time to care about other things.

After she and Charles went back from the hotel yesterday, the cold war between them ended and their relationship improved, at least for the time being.

However, Nancy didn't dare to mention about Dorothy.

A moment ago, Frederic called Nancy and asked about Charles' stand on the matter. Nancy said perfunctorily, "Mr. Frederic, we'll take it slow. I think we should wait for some more time." "You know Dorothy has been in prison for a long time. Aren't you afraid that the Zhuang family will do something desperate?" Frederic said anxiously.

"I will try my best to convince Charles!" Nancy assured.

But she had her concerns. She didn't know how to persuade Charles in favor of Dorothy.

Charles didn't want Dorothy out of the prison. Once Nancy make an attempt to talk about her, he would leave immediately.

However, to her surprise, Frederic's words were turning prophetic.

Nancy didn't leave Landon's ward until she would decide to call it a day.

It was one of those rare occasions when she had some spare time to drive to the kindergarten.

She reached there on time and waited for the children to show up. Usually, Bobby and Nadia would wait for her or Charles in the kindergarten's yard.

But they weren't there today.

Nancy wondered what they were doing.

All the children left one-by-one, except for Bobby and Nadia. They were nowhere to be seen.

Nancy felt a bit uneasy. She walked straight into the classroom and asked, "Excuse me, I came to pick up Bobby and Nadia. Where are they?"

"Oh, but they have been taken away. It's been a while!" the teacher said.

"May I know who picked them up?" Nancy asked.

No matter who came here, he or she was supposed to give her a call.

The teacher thought for a while and then replied, "Well, Mr. Fu sent someone to pick them up." "Was it Hiram?" Nancy asked curiously.

Because only four people came to pick up the kids, Nancy, Doris, Charles and Hiram.

No one else came other than the four of them.

The teacher shook her head and replied, "No, it was not him. But the guy had Hiram's mobile phone with him. He said that something happened to Hiram, so he was here to pick up the children." When the teacher had just finished, the expression on Nancy's face changed suddenly.

She felt something wasn't right. Immediately, she rang Charles up.

But Charles didn't answer the phone. Nancy was anxious and directly drove to his office.

At this time, Charles was in a meeting. The real estate's business was on a downslope. He wanted to sell a few lands and transfer the capital to the renewable energy sector.

The executives had differences of opinions about the proposal, so they were having a heated discussion.

While attending such meetings, Charles would turn his phone to silent mode, so he didn't hear the phone call from Nancy.

At this moment, his secretary came in and said, "Mr. Fu, Miss Ning is here."

When he raised his head, he saw Nancy at the door, who seemed anxious.

"Let her in."

She had just eased her relationship with him a little bit yesterday, but now she seemed as if she wanted to kill him again.

Well, it was really difficult for a man to see through a woman's mind!

Before the secretary passed on the message, Nancy had already come in.

"What's wrong?" He knew that Nancy wouldn't show up this way if nothing had happened.

"Where are the kids?" Nancy asked.

"I have already asked Hiram to pick them up." Till now, Charles hadn't thought about the kind of dangerous things that would happen. As his bodyguard, Hiram had been with him for many years. Charles considered him as a man with great composure, loyalty and reliability. He was the most trustworthy person for Charles. Therefore, Charles felt very reassured to have him take good care of the kids. Nancy was so anxious that she was about to cry. She said in a trembling voice, "No. He didn't pick up the children. Someone took them away..."

She tried to stop herself from trembling, but the fear still made her tremble.

Charles rang up Hiram at once, but could only hear the voice prompt that the phone was switched off.

"The meeting is dismissed!" A cold expression appeared on Charles' face.

The executives looked at each other and left in fear.

"Jay is now at the hospital because Landon is dying, and Hiram is missing. What are you going to do?" Nancy said, repressing her cry. "Silly girl, you have me, all right?"

Charles asked his men to get the surveillance video from the kindergarten. Soon, he got the news that the kids were taken away by a strange man. "Call the police, Charles!" Nancy cried.

"No, we have to wait!" Of course, he was worried that the kids might get killed. Charles said, "Let's show some restraint. They will call us soon." However, he was wrong. He didn't receive any call even after a night.

Afraid to cry in front of Charles, Nancy could only hide in the bathroom and cry secretly.

While she was anxious and didn't know what to do, she got a call from Frederic.

"They called me and said the two kids were in their hands. Charles, you really don't know who did it?" scolded Frederic softly.

"Drew! It must be him!" Nancy whispered.

A sneer curled the corners of Charles' mouth. "Drew is quite bold," he said contemptuously.

"Charles, you have underestimated the love of parents to protect their children. Just imagine what would happen to you if you lose Bobby. Wouldn't you also lose your mind then? Dorothy is Drew's only daughter and you sent her to prison. How can Drew let you go easily?" Nancy asked, trying to sound calm.

Parents could do anything when it came to their children.

Nancy was deeply aware of this.

Nancy's words prompted Charles to call Drew immediately.

The fact was that Drew had been waiting for his call. Bobby and Nadia were in the living room. He had tied up the two kids with ropes and placed them on the sofa. He took care of their needs and served them with delicious food.

He didn't dare to kill them.

He knew it very well that Charles was quite cruel and ruthless in the business world. He didn't dare to hurt Bobby and Nadia unless for the sake of his daughter.

"Hello, Mr. Fu. It's so rare for you to call me. Please go ahead!" Drew said in a trembling voice.

Somehow, he was scared of Charles.

"Mr. Zhuang, you know why I made this call, don't you?" Charles asked in a gloomy voice.

"Alas!" Hearing what Charles said, Drew sighed and said, "Mr. Fu, let me be honest with you. I've been missing Dorothy recently. I miss her so much that my brain doesn't work very well. So I can't understand what you are talking about. What are you calling for?"

His words were very straightforward. He just wanted Charles to let off Dorothy, so that he could let Bobby and Nadia go back home.
