Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 172 The Baby Couldn't Be Kept
When the car neared Doris, Jay rolled down the window and shouted, "Get in the car, Doris!"
However, Doris turned a deaf ear to his words and continued walking away.
With gritted teeth, he parked the car and took out the umbrella from the trunk.
As he was about to catch up with her, she suddenly turned back and glared at him. "Jay, you are wicked! Don't follow me. I don't want to see you anymore!"
In her eyes, he was a wolf in sheep's clothing. The rain was nothing compared to his cruelty. It gave her comfort, while Jay had given her pain. Doris' clothes were drenched by the rain, and she looked even more vulnerable. It looked like she would fall onto the ground at any moment.
This sight of her gave a pang of pain in his heart. "Damn it!"
He had no idea who he was cursing. Was it Doris or himself?
The scene she had witnessed was still in her mind. She felt downcast and betrayed.
Her inner voice kept shouting, 'I will never go back to him. I have regretted so much that I promised Landon to marry into their family.'
Preoccupied with her thoughts, she didn't notice the truck approaching.
"Move!" The umbrella in Jay's hand dropped. In a split second, his slender body pounced on her. His hands wrapped around her small frame as they rolled over to avoid the truck.
When the truck passed by them, the driver poked his head out. "You bastard! Do you want to die?"
But Jay couldn't care less about the driver. Instead, he held Doris' face up. His breathing labored and he felt something clutched his heart when he saw that her eyes were closed as if she was lifeless. Her face was pale and there was blood on her forehead.
It seemed that Jay finally knew what fear was.
He didn't want to lose Doris!
"Doris, are you okay? You are tough. You will be fine!" Frightened, he carried Doris in his car.
He had never lost anything since he was a child. It turned out that the feeling of losing was so painful!
He drove to the hospital at full speed. On their way, he decided to call Nancy. "Something happened to Doris."
Nancy was shocked. "What's wrong?"
"Nancy, get the best doctor ready. I'll be there in a few minutes." His voice cracked.
"What's wrong with you, Jay? What's the matter with Doris?" Nancy didn't have a clue about what happened. She just spoke to her last night and she sounded happy.
But today, she received a call from Jay who was on the verge of tears. What happened to Doris?
That girl was heartless, and she had never been sick easily. Even when she was still in the university, she hadn't been infected by sick people as if she had antibodies. It was Nancy who was always sick back then.
And of course, Doris was the one who took care of her.
"Let's talk about it when we arrive!" Unable to make any explanation, Jay ended the call.
Nancy was left dumbfounded. This man hadn't told her what exactly she needed to prepare for. He just called to break the news and asked her to replace the best doctors. It was ridiculous!
Nancy had no choice but to call Charles and ask him to put the best doctors of each department on stand by.
The doctors and nurses were all lined up in front of the emergency building when they arrived.
"Doris!" Nancy sighed in relief when she figured that Jay was okay. But when her eyes fell on Doris, her heart was in her throat again.
The girl's face was pale. Her eyes were closed and she was unmoving.
"What happened?" Nancy asked the nurse to prepare the stretcher.
"I don't know! I'm not a doctor. She fell down and passed out. I don't know why!" Jay laid her down on the stretcher.
Not until then did Nancy notice the beads of sweat on his forehead.
"It should be okay. Don't worry!" Nancy comforted him.
The first thing she needed to do now was to give Doris a physical examination.
When a doctor suggested that Doris needed to do CT scans, a bold idea occurred to Nancy. "Is she pregnant?"
Jay was shocked. He just lied to his grandfather about her pregnancy a few days ago.
He had never expected that she was really pregnant.
If that was the case, should he feel glad or scared?
"How about we do B scan first?" a doctor suggested.
"Okay," Jay stammered.
It didn't take long for the results to come out. Doris was pregnant.
It had been six weeks.
Nancy handed the result to Jay. "You are going to be a father soon. You should not make Doris angry anymore. She needs to stay healthy. Keep her healthy and don't stress her too."
As a friend, she felt genuinely happy for Doris.
"Okay." Jay sounded like he was still in shock.
"Remember, you owe Doris a wedding." Nancy still remembered this thing.
"I'm sorry. My grandfather's health condition is not very good now. Let's wait and see." His face turned red in excitement.
"You decide!" As she spoke, she walked up to Doris and said, "You're going to be a mom. Do you hear me?"
When Doris heard this, she was in half-coma. She couldn't fathom whether she was asleep or awake.
Slowly, she opened her eyes.
"Nancy, what did you say?"
With a wide smile, Nancy held her hand.
"Congratulations! You are going to be a mother."
Her eyes went wide. "I'm... pregnant?"
she asked in disbelief.
"Yes, you are going to be a mother!" Nancy said excitedly.
To everyone's surprise, Doris jumped out of the bed directly, and grabbed Nancy's hand. "Help me get rid of this child. In any case, the child can't be kept. I'll divorce Jay!"
"What?" Nancy's jaw dropped. "How long have you just got your marriage certificate? You haven't even held a wedding ceremony yet. The people outside don't know that you have married Jay. How could you divorce him right after you got pregnant? What are you thinking? Do you think marriage is a joke?"
Holding Nancy in her arms, she sobbed, "Nancy, Jay cheated on me."
The medical staff who overheard it snickered.
There had always been a lot of women around him.
It sounded strange for them to hear that he was having an affair.
He was just a playboy!
"What's wrong with him?" Nancy's expression changed.
"Honey, I swear it wasn't what you thought it was. There is nothing going on between Winnie and I. For the sake of our baby, don't be mad at me, okay?" Jay convinced her in a soft voice.
"You love the baby in my womb, not me. So I have to have an abortion and divorce you!" This time, Doris didn't want to compromise.
