Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 188 Raging Hormones
As soon as Charles turned around, he was dumbfounded to see the girl's clothes stripped. But what was surprised him more was what she shouted, "You molested me, you bastard!" He might be a shrewd man, but he knew as hell when someone was blackmailing him.
"What are you talking about?" Shoving off the girl's hand, he quickly opened the door and got out of the car.
But at this moment, several police cars had already rushed over.
And with the presence of the officers, the girl suddenly got out of the car and threw herself on the ground. Her clothes were in a mess, exposing some of her skin.
She looked like she was dying. In fact, she could be an actress with such acting.
As he stared at her in disbelief, Charles shook his head, knowing what was about to happen once the police questioned him.
The first thing he thought of was to call Jay-the man, who'd always save him in such situations.
At this moment, Jay just returned home, and the first thing he did was check on the kids. After seeing that Bobby and Nadia had fallen asleep, he went back to his bedroom.
Meanwhile, Doris had already lay down, facing him with her back.
And to her surprise, he suddenly came over and planted a soft kiss on her belly.
"Hey, Jay." She suddenly sat up and stared at him, angrily.
"What's wrong?" he asked in an indifferent voice, taking off his tie.
"Why did you kiss my belly instead of me?" asked Doris, touching her belly while her lips protruded.
"What? Is it wrong for me to kiss our baby?" It wasn't just Landon's condition, which was unstable, but so as Jay's mood.
"Of course. Without me, you wouldn't have a baby at all! So you should kiss me first." Up until now, it was still evident how insecure Doris was. Perhaps it was her hormones acting up, but Doris knew better. The incident with Winnie had greatly left a mark on her, and she couldn't get herself to admit it.
'He only kissed my belly.
Does he love the child more than me?' Doris asked herself in doubt.
Since they got married, she felt that she couldn't understand him anymore.
She couldn't figure out whether this guy loved her or not. And that thought had been eating her up.
With a snicker, he bent over and looked at her. "It seems that I should be the one saying that. Without me, there's no way you could have the baby in your belly."
"Humph! Sounds like I won't be pregnant without you. I tell you, I can get pregnant without you!"
She was so careless that she didn't even care about what she said. But it was already too late to take it back. Jay's face grew colder and grimmer.
"What do you mean by that, Doris?" His stern voice and brooding eyes sent chills down her spine.
"I, I... I said what I said!" Doris tried to sound confident, but her trembling lips gave her away. Although she didn't mean it, Jay obviously took it seriously.
He was so angry that he threw away his tie and stormed out of the room.
In fact, he knew Doris well; he was really mad that he had to take off the steam.
As a man, he could do nothing but kiss his pregnant wife's belly at night. He could not make love to her or even kiss her now that her hormones were raging like wildfire. More than that, he found it unfair that Doris had never shown him any affection or lest be sweet with him.
She even admitted to wanting abortion because being pregnant was too hard for her!
He was afraid that this woman would lose her mind and have an abortion, so he always followed and did her caprices to appease her!
Even when she went to work, he sent Hanson to follow and wait for her outside. That was how paranoid he was that Doris would abort the baby.
Once, when she went to the washroom, the sign accidentally fell.
Hanson just broke in nervously, thinking that Doris might have been in danger.
Upon checking that she was perfectly fine, Hanson realized that he had made a big mistake. So, when Doris came out of the bathroom, he apologized immediately.
Because of this incident, Doris reprimanded him to set him straight.
As she was making a scene, Jay merely looked at her and didn't say anything.
"If you let Hanson follow me again, I will really have an abortion!" Doris threatened, pinching his neck to ease her frustration.
"I will only tell him to stop if you promise me that you will never think about abortion or even do it."
"I promise I won't abort the baby, okay? Now, tell him to stop following me!" Doris ordered as her nostrils flared in utter anger.
"Words have no basis. We must put in writing!" As soon as he finished his words, he asked his secretary to bring a pen and paper for her to write on and then sign her name on it.
After doing as he said, Doris thought that he would keep the end of the bargain.
And while Hanson really stopped tailing her, it was another man who followed her.
She even once thought that someone was stalking her!
Once, when she went to the underground parking lot after work and sensed a man behind her. Fearing that he was a bad guy, she walked in a hurry. Because she walked too fast, she accidentally stumbled. But before she could even hit the ground, a pair of big hands held her waist. "Mrs. Fang, be careful."
Hearing that, it suddenly occurred to her that Jay had sent another one of his men.
"Go away. I won't fall down even if I'm not careful!" she shouted at the man angrily.
After that night, Doris thought that the man had completely disappeared, but the following morning, she saw him tailing her at work again!
She was so annoyed that she told Nancy about it.
"Silly girl, it's a good thing that he is worried about you. Would you prefer that he doesn't care at all?" the latter teased with a smile.
"But it's very uncomfortable to be followed every day. Even when I go to the bathroom, I feel like someone is staring at me." Doris ranted to her friend, sporting a long, brooding face.
"If I were you, I would just ignore him. It's mainly because you're pregnant. You know he wouldn't do that if you weren't."
"Nancy, do you think I'm more important to him than the baby?"
At that sudden question, Nancy was stunned to her seat. She had never expected Doris to be this insecure.
"Doris, are you jealous of your own baby? My god! It hasn't even been born yet!" she said half-jokingly and half-seriously.
Nancy knew that some men would be jealous of their children after their wives gave birth, but she had never heard of it turning around.
She loved Doris as her friend, but frankly, the latter could really be weird at times.
"Of course, I'm not! I just think that Jay values his child more than me!" Doris tried to feign a smile, but it turned out to be so bitter.
"You are a doctor, and you know it's bad to be sad when you're pregnant." This time, Nancy stopped teasing her. The former was evidently more worried about her now.
"I know. I just can't help it." After ending the call, Doris tried to calm herself and make sense of the situation in a positive light.
Perhaps Jay was really looking after their baby, and in
turn, her safety too.
