Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 228 Little Brother, Little Sister

However, Charles grabbed Nancy's arm and said, "Nancy, will you hear me out? I can't forget about the woman of five years ago. What do you think I should do? She hadn't finished this painting. She must have been just as dexterous as you when it comes to painting. Maybe she was just as kind and beautiful as you."

"Charles, you must be mistaken. My hand is used to taking a scalpel, not a brush. I'm sorry!" After that, Nancy ran out of the room.

It was the same every time. Nancy wanted to solve the mystery, but in the face of action, she just stiffened.

Nancy didn't know what she was afraid of or what she couldn't face. She was haunted by that deal she made five years ago when she was unmarried.

Would Charles really not mind?

Shouldn't he scoff at girls who sell themselves for money? Just like how society despises and looks down upon such women.

Nancy ran into the bedroom as fast as she could, closed the door, sat down on the sofa slowly, and hugged herself tightly.

Charles picked up the brush and drew the painting. He smiled bitterly and thought, 'Nancy, I want to marry you. But what about you? Are you willing to marry me?' The next day, when Nancy woke up, she found herself lying on the bed.

Last night...

Nancy remembered that she fell asleep on the sofa. How did she get on the bed?

Nancy couldn't recollect what happened at all!

Nancy pulled her pajamas, and once again, she was unable to remember when she changed.

Looking around, Nancy realized that no one was sleeping beside her; the mattress on the other side was still cold.

Did Charles not sleep with her?

When Nancy walked out of the bedroom, she saw him cooking in the kitchen.

She walked up to him, and in a guilt-ridden tone, said, "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You look cute while sleeping. How can I bear to do that?" Charles said with a smile.

"M-my pajamas?" Nancy asked with embarrassment.

Charles looked up at her.

Last night, when Charles came out of the study, he went to Bobby's room to have a look. He saw the little boy tossing and turning in bed, unable to fall asleep. Charles didn't know what he was thinking about. Maybe he was still wondering why his mother was not giving birth to a brother or sister for him as soon as possible. Charles came in.

"Bobby, it's so late. Why aren't you sleeping?" Charles asked.

Bobby suddenly sat up and tilted his head to look at him, "Daddy, will you have a baby with mommy tonight?"

Charles was stunned that Bobby still remembered this thing.

How could it be?

Charles decided to have a talk with Bobby. Charles sat down on the edge of Bobby's bed and said, "Bobby, it's not up to me or your mother to give birth to a baby. It needs a process and that process... Uhm" Feeling awkward, Charles said, "How about this? I'll buy you a book tomorrow, and you can read it, okay?"

"Daddy, will the book tell me whether Mommy is pregnant with a little brother or a little sister?"

When children reach a certain age, they become curious about everything. To their pure minds, everything is a mystery that needs an answer. So, what about the first-ever mystery of their life? Where do they come from?

Charles didn't know much about books on this topic, so he decided to ask his assistant to buy some books.

The children needed to be guided correctly.

Rubbing Bobby's head, he said, "Bobby, I'll tell you where you come from."

Bobby nodded thoughtfully, "Oh, I see. Daddy, once I know where I come from, won't I also know when little brother and sister will come? But where are they now?"

Charles rubbed his forehead painfully. One really had to be on his toes and think like a machine when dealing with a curious child with near-infinite questions.

"Bobby, can you stop talking about this now? Let's talk about it tomorrow, okay?" said Charles.

"Okay, I'll wait."

"Bobby, now you go to bed. Do you understand?" Charles ordered.

"Got it!" Bobby closed his eyes obediently.

Charles didn't leave Bobby's room until he fell asleep.

When Charles entered the bedroom, he saw that Nancy was sleeping on the sofa with her arms wrapping around herself.

Charles walked up to wake up Nancy, but seeing her tranquil face, he couldn't bear to do it.

Instead, Charles carried her to the bed.

When Charles was about to leave, Nancy grabbed his arm and said, "Don't go! Don't go, Charles." Nancy still had her eyes closed.

Nancy kept muttering in her sleep. She frowned, and a touch of sadness appeared on her face.

Was she having a nightmare?

Charles' fingertip touched the frown between Nancy's eyebrows. "I won't leave, honey. I'll be here at all times."

Nancy leaned her head against Charles' palm, and in response, Charles lay down beside her and wrapped her shoulder in his arms. Nancy curled up in his arms and gradually calmed down.

Nancy calmed down, but Charles couldn't calm down with Nancy in his arms.

But Charles didn't want to disturb Nancy when he saw her face. After a while, he broke out in a sweat.

Charles' body was sticky and uncomfortable. He gently pushed Nancy and noticed that her pajamas were also wet with sweat. Charles had to change it for Nancy.

As soon as Charles changed Nancy's clothes, he heard the door of Bobby's room open.

Charles came out in a hurry and saw Bobby rubbing his eyes and staring at him in a daze.

"Bobby, what are you doing?" Charles scolded him, thinking that he was eavesdropping again.

"Daddy, I am going to pee," Bobby said and went to the bathroom.

Charles felt that he was too nervous. A kid could never do something so cunning; after all, how complicated could they be?

So... he waited for Bobby.

Unexpectedly, the moment Bobby walked out of the bathroom, he said something that made Charles break out in a cold sweat. "Daddy, why don't you go and have a baby with Mommy? Why are you standing here?"

"I... I'm going to take a shower!" Feeling speechless, Charles walked into the bathroom.

Alas, what a trouble! Raising a child was really a hard thing.

After taking a shower, Charles didn't dare to go to Nancy's room anymore and went to the guest room obediently.

Even so, Bobby still ran into his room in the morning.

"Daddy, why are you sleeping in the guest room? If you don't sleep with Mommy, how can you give birth to a little brother or sister for me?" Bobby pouted and asked angrily.

Charles used to think Bobby was adorable whenever he said "little brother or sister," but now, this became a trigger word for his migraine!

Charles sighed, "Bobby, can we just stop talking about little brother or sister?"
