Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 273 Unreasonable

Why was Charles so fixated on this topic?

When she turned to look at Charles, Nancy haughtily looked down on him and said, "Charles, there's no reason for you to be so jealous because between us, I wasn't the one who was really fooling around. Last night, I was only drinking with him and did not do anything out of line."

Charles wasn't in any rush to defend himself. He simply said, "Do you really want to go?"

After observing him for a while, Nancy could sense from his tone that he wasn't happy about it. She decided not to respond and said, "I'm going out to see Doris."

"No, you're not!" yelled Charles in an arrogant manner.

"Why?" she asked angrily.

"Because now, I am your man. And I order you to stay at home with me today!" blurted Charles as he threw the bread in his hand and stood up.

Following that, he walked closer to her.

"You're being unreasonable!" Nancy shouted discontented from what she was hearing.

Charles pinched her chin with his slender fingers and raised her face towards his. In a devious voice, he said, "Well, if I am unreasonable, what are you going to do?" When he spoke, a strong and domineering force escaped from his cold lips.

"Well..." Realizing that any effort of refuting him would turn out to be in vain, she simply gave it up.

Nancy grasped the backrest of her chair with both hands and submit herself to his authority, allowing him to do whatever he wanted.

A few moments later, with much reluctance from his side, Charles let her go.

He glared down at her with eyes that exuded dominance.

While he dragged his fingertips all the way from his lips down, he said, "Nancy, don't ever forget that from here... until here, every inch of your body belongs to me. I will never allow another person to touch you. You better remember that!"

There was a charming, but slightly sardonic smile plastered on Nancy's face. She pointed directly to where her heart was beating and said, "But what about here?"

"There..." Charles blinked and continued, "Well, you better keep an eye on it. If she ever dares to provoke me, I will..."

He stared down at Nancy with frozen anger.

The look on his eyes caused Nancy's heart to tremble.

"You will dig it out?" A subtle smile remained on her face, but the corners of her lips were twitching ever so slightly.

"Well, I am definitely going to dig it out!" he scoffed.

Charles always appeared to be gentle on the outside, but she never expected that he would turn out to be such a tyrannical beast.

She patted her heart softly and said, "Be a good girl. You better not mess with Charles, or he will really lose his mind and dig you out! Don't you forget."

When Nancy said this, she mocked both Charles and her own dignity.

Charles glared at her with a cynical grin. In a tone of bitterness he said, "Nancy, why are you so annoying? You're getting on my nerves!" "Annoying? Charles, do you even realize that your domineering attitude is imposing with my life? We don't live in a patriarchal society anymore. Why wouldn't you allow women to have the same freedom that men do?" She paused, looking at him straight in the eye and continued, "If you can still go out at bars to look for women with Jay, I have the right to go out with Doris and look for a man!"

Charles frowned when he realized that all his efforts to teach her a lesson was to no avail.

"How dare you!"

"If you dare, I dare!" she shouted, cradling her neck.

"Nancy, can you say that again?" Charles' perfectly chiseled face turned dark. He was completely dumbfounded as to why she was like this. She was acting like a little wild cat.

He thoroughly wondered if there was a reason she was acting this way.

'Tm going to say it again! Marriage is a bond that is built from a foundation of mutual respect between two people. If there's no respect, then what is the point of us getting married?" Nancy opposed. "What makes you think I don't respect you? I just went out to grab some drinks with Jay. We are men, but you're a woman. Aren't you afraid that people will be talking about you if you go to a bar in the middle of the night?" Charles was trying to be patient with her.

"I don't mind you going out to drink in a bar, but why didn't you let me know? Besides that, your phone was turned off the whole time! And, what struck me the most... You were out looking for women?" Despite starting off as very angry, as she spoke her voice slowly became softer. It was apparent that she cared so much about Charles holding hands with another woman.

Even though Lilian was only a young girl, that didn't mean that he could just hold her hands casually.

There should always be a safe distance between men and women.

"It was Jay who found and invited those women. I only took them as my little sisters. Besides that, it was also Jay who turned off my phone. It seemed as though he was badly mistreated by Doris lately. I could tell he wasn't feeling so well, so he asked me to get some drinks with him. He's my best friend, so why would I refuse him?" Charles explained in a gentle voice. He continued, "Nancy, you have to trust me. I have a huge respect for you; furthermore, I respect my own choice."

When she saw the sincere look on Charles' eyes, Nancy couldn't bear to make things any more difficult for him. "Really?" she asked.

"I'm telling you the truth. I would never lie to you," said Charles.

After hearing his comforting words, all the resentment she was harboring in her heart immediately vanished.

A genuine smile appeared on her face and she said, "I believe you."

"Well, we should stop fighting. The kids are getting up soon. You should finish your soup quickly, okay?" At the same time, all the anger and jealousy Charles felt in his heart also dissipated. He watched over Nancy with eyes overflowing with compassion.

"Okay," said Nancy in a cute manner. She placed her hand on Charles' shoulder and said, "I have something to tell you. It's about Jessie..."

"Why? What's wrong with her?" asked Charles.

Before Nancy had a chance to explain, her phone started to ring.

It was a call from Doris.

She knew that Nancy got completely wasted last night, so she gave her a call this morning to ask about how she was doing.

Nancy picked up the phone and placed it on her ear.

"How's it going, Nancy? Are you hung-over?" Doris asked with an evil grin.

Nancy's looked over at Charles and said, "I'm doing fine. What about you?"

"I didn't drink that much. I'm fine." After a short pause, Doris continued, "You better keep an eye out on Charles from now on. I asked Jay some questions about last night and he told me that Charles was the one who ordered the two women. He also said that it was his idea to turn off their phones. You haven't even gotten married. Do you think he's getting bored with you?"

Nancy's eyes widened with her face stuck in an incredulous expression.

It was a completely different story from what she heard.

"What's the matter with Charles?" asked Nancy in confusion.

Charles was just standing by her side the whole time.

'Damn it! Jay is making up stories!' he thought.

He couldn't let that guy get away with slandering him like that.

It wasn't easy for him to calm Nancy down. All his efforts turned to vain from just a simple sentence from Doris. He didn't know what more he could explain if she ended up misunderstanding him.

So, he took the phone and said, "Doris, Jay isn't telling the truth. It was all his idea. Nothing that happened last night had anything to do with me." "Charles, don't be so patronizing. Jay told me that he wouldn't dare turn off his phone because I'm pregnant. It was all your idea. When did you become such a scumbag? Why can't you just admit what you've done?" Doris said in a jarring tone.

Scumbag?

Charles was completely infuriated. Who dared call him a scum?

This brave woman dared to provoke him!
