Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 280 Irrefutable

'Why did Doris tell me that she was being pestered by an old man?

Was she referring to Jay?

Jay is a very good looking, wealthy man. If only I had known that Doris was going to use it to scare him, I never would have given it to her.

What should I do now?'

The more Owen thought about it, the more his nervousness was causing agitation.

At this moment, he wished he could just disappear into thin air in front of everyone.

So while the situation unfolded, he secretly stepped back and tried to run away.

However, before he could leave, he heard a loud roar coming from Jay. "Who here is Owen? Come out!"

When he heard this, Owen's legs trembled from weakness that he almost fell to the ground.

'Damn it! Why did I have to leave my name on the test report?'

He was definitely getting into big trouble.

"Owen, Mr. Fang is looking for you. Hurry up and come here!" President Hobart urged.

Obviously, he didn't have any way out of this, so he reluctantly came over and said, 'Tm here."

"Well, you stay put right there. You're not allowed to go anywhere. We're all going to wait for Doris' new test results," Jay commanded.

"Okay." By this point, Owen really wanted to shoot himself.

But more importantly, he was completely infuriated with Doris!

Feeling powerless, Doris looked up at Nancy, pleading for some support.

Acknowledging this, Nancy immediately tried to pacify the situation and said, "President Hobart, I'm sure it's just an allergy. It's not a big deal. Besides, isn't it inappropriate for a pregnant woman to get so much

tests?"

However, before Hobart was able to respond, Jay interjected in a pompous manner, "Dr. Nancy, it seems like Charles has been taking care of your children the whole day? Don't you have to go home and cook for your family?"

Nancy was stunned when she heard this, but only smiled awkwardly. Before she could respond, Jay continued, "It is exactly because Doris is pregnant, that she should have a thorough examination. In case she really does have an infection, it may cause dangerous risks to the baby. It would be irresponsible to keep this unchecked."

Everything that Jay said was completely true, so Nancy couldn't even refute.

"Dr. Nancy, you've been working the whole day during the weekend. You must be tired. Go home and get some rest," Hobart said earnestly.

Nancy shrugged. "Okay."

Feeling helpless about the situation, she glanced at Doris and said, 'Tm going home. Don't worry. It's going to be okay. It's just a simple checkup, so take it easy." Nancy was implying that Doris shouldn't be so hard on him. If only she softened her attitude and flirted with her husband a little bit, everything was going to be fine. Immediately understanding what she meant, Doris didn't have any other choice but to nod at her. "You should go ahead."

Nancy proceeded to turn around and left.

Several doctors took Doris in to take a series of tests, including a urinalysis and a complete blood test.

After a long while, the doctors finally went out and walked towards Jay. They announced, "The patient is in good condition, however, her heartbeat is slightly irregular." When Doris heard this, she started to get a little dizzy and felt like she could faint.

She thought, 'Irregular heartbeat? My heart is just racing because I'm scared witless from the situation.'

"Mr. Fang, you can now rest assured that your wife is safe. The test results I gave you are 100% accurate. Mrs. Fang is perfectly healthy!" said Hobart as he handed a large stack of test results into Jay's hands. Then, he asked some nurses to bring over some medicine and a glass of water for Doris.

Doris really didn't want to drink it, but she was enduring the rashes for far too long. She was afraid that if she would end up scratching the red rashes, it would leave scars.

After taking the medicine, Doris cowered her head down uncomfortably like a little child who had made a mistake.

These kinds of tricks made Jay angry and amused at the same time.

By now, Jay was really worried about what kind of tricks she would play whenever she wanted to take revenge on him in the future.

A deep frown was etched on Jay's face, while he looked thoroughly through the test reports.

After meticulously reading it, he walked towards Owen with his hands in his pocket. "Tell me, where did you get the data on the test report you handed my wife earlier?"

"I apologize, Mr. Fang. I probably made a mistake," Owen said vaguely.

"A mistake? Oh, that's good. President Hobart, how could you have such a careless doctor in your hospital? If the news gets out that this kind of negligence happens here, the reputation of your hospital will be damaged for good!"

"Owen, how could you make such a stupid mistake? You..." Hobart uttered in a distressed tone. He was confused and couldn't believe how such a thing could have happened.

'Tm sorry, President Hobart. I am completely at fault," Owen admitted with his head down. It wasn't like he could have said anything else to make it any better.

"Well, starting tomorrow, don't come back to work," Hobart said impatiently.

"Huh, why is the punishment so serious?" If Doris had known that there would be such critical outcomes, she never would've approached this so clumsily. She looked at Owen apologetically with sheepish eyes while he scowled back at her.

All of a sudden, Doris felt a flush of guilt sitting on her chest for her unforgivable behavior.

She mustered up the strength to take a step forward and with a meek smile she said, "President Hobart, it wasn't a result of negligence. What he did was unintentional. Besides, I'm perfectly fine. I don't take it against him. Please, I hope you can forgive him. Don't punish him too harshly, okay?"

Hobart was a wise man. From the get go, he found the whole situation to be quite absurd. He sensed that something was suspicious about it.

Hobart glanced quickly at Jay. When he saw his striking face, frozen with anger, he couldn't help but give a stiff response. "Mrs. Fang, even if you don't put the blame on him, he is still a doctor of high standing. Such actions can have severe consequences. Not only to his reputation, but the entire hospital. Especially here, we do not tolerate any kind of negligence. You shouldn't be worrying about this matter!"

Owen kept his head down all throughout. He really didn't want to be dismissed. Working for this hospital earned him double the salary of other hospitals. More importantly, if he was fired, his reputation as a doctor would be tarnished and no other hospital would ever want to hire him.

"Jay, can you say something?" Doris said helplessly. Having no other choice, she turned to Jay for some help.

Jay raised his eyebrows and answered, "Look. I could sue this man for what he did, but I'm kind enough to let it pass. Losing his job is even a considerate punishment for his faults."

"Considerate? Jay!" Doris gnashed her teeth, starting to feel really upset.

"President Hobart, the matter ends here. Whatever happened, stays here."

"Mr. Fang, rest assured." He continued, "If anyone even tries to spread this to others, he or she will end up like Owen." Hobart's voice was cold and uncompromising.

All the other doctors trembled with fear when they heard him.

"Let's go, Doris!" Jay said sternly as he pulled her into the elevator.

Doris kept her head down and didn't utter a word.

With furrowed eyebrows, Jay lit a cigar and inhaled it.

"How could you be so cruel? I already told you that Owen didn't do that on purpose. Why would you ask the damn Hobart to get him fired?" When Doris was looking at him, she really had the urge to slap him across the face.

In a calm demeanor, Jay leaned over to her and placed his hands on her face. He looked down at her and said, "He made a mistake. He gave the wrong test results to my woman. Don't you understand?" "But... That's because... Hah..." Doris sighed, not knowing how to argue against him. The thought of it made her heart feel sick!
