Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 708 Unbridled
"Did you hear that, Charles? It's all your fault. You shouldn't have gone to that bar with Brandy! Don't keep your thoughts to yourself! Our kids deserve to hear your explanation." Nancy found herself pushed to a corner, unable to answer her child. She thought it would be best if Charles handled the situation himself.
"Bobby, listen to me. You shouldn't believe everything you hear, especially those said by the paparazzi. Yes, Brandy and I went to the bar alone, but that was not a date. We've been friends since high school, dear boy. We had been drinking, dancing, and singing together even before we entered college. After we finished our college entrance exam, we partied so hard. You may not understand this now, but believe me when I say that we did not go on a date."
Charles could not help but sigh. Children were sometimes really hard to deal with. He knew that he must carefully explain everything to his son.
People always said, "Boys take after their father."
He must speak carefully and clearly so that Bobby would not misunderstand.
With a sinister smile, Nancy coyly added, "One last thing, Charles. Would you want to make a baby with another woman?"
"I am helping you out, Nancy. Why would you even ask that? Don't put any more negative ideas in our children's head," Charles said rather coldly. The disdainful look in his eyes made the children laugh.
"Would you care to answer my question? Just so the kids could not misinterpret the situation," Nancy urged.
Charles had always been cautious when talking in front of the children. He was a little bit annoyed that Nancy had put him in a tough spot.
"Daddy, I think I can only accept a sibling if it is from Mommy. As for the baby you might have with another woman, I forbid you from doing so!" Bobby frowned as he spoke.
"Bobby, don't listen to your mommy's nonsense. I can't have a baby with any other woman except her. Do you understand?" Charles said seriously.
"Why, Daddy?" Nadia suddenly asked.
Charles sighed once more.
More and more questions seemed to arise from the children. Charles began to caress his throbbing head. "Because only two people who love each other can give birth to healthy babies, just like you two. As for another reason..." The man cleared his throat before continuing, 'Tm already occupied with you two. If I have more babies, I won't be able to handle them!"
Bobby and Nadia were integral to their family. Albeit special, another child would not be ideal.
Being a parent had proved to be a tiresome endeavor. Most days, Charles had little energy left to deal with his children's trivial concerns.
What was more, his children often berated the man for things they did not understand.
"Are we not good children, Dad?" Obviously, Bobby was confused by Charles' words.
"Of course, you are great children! It's just that sometimes, you guys are not obedient." Charles spoke his truth.
"That's very sad to hear, Dad," Bobby said coldly.
"No, no, no. Bobby, I think you forgetting our real problem," Nadia said while blinking her big eyes.
"What? And what is that problem? Tell me," Bobby asked, unconvinced with what Nadia was insinuating.
"Bobby, just now, Daddy said that only the two people who love each other can have smart, obedient children, just like us!"
"Yes, Daddy did say so. I heard it too!"
"That means that Daddy and Mommy still love each other. They love no one else but each other. Don't believe what you see on the Internet. If our classmates gossip about Mom and Dad again, we should do our best to defend them. They should know that our parents love each other dearly. Daddy won't betray Mommy, and Mommy won't betray Daddy. Am I right?" Nadia spoke and smiled smugly.
The girl felt smart and articulate. Even Bobby could not speak as she just did.
That was indeed a child who came from a happy marriage.
It would seem that Nadia was indeed an example of a well-loved and pampered child. None of her parents would allow her to be dumb.
She was at the top of her class. She even did not want to go to the kindergarten, given that she rarely found any of the activities challenging.
The rumors about her parents added to that pressure. She never wanted to hear that her father was dating another woman, most especially in school. Whenever she heard such rumors, Nadia felt as if she were losing her father.
Thus, Nadia often felt sad in school.
The girl often distanced herself from her classmates, even from her closest friends. Somehow, she always felt as if she was not wanted in those circles.
'If Daddy doesn't even love Mommy, then how will he love me?' That was the question that always plagued her little brain.
Having that family conversation proved to be helpful for the girl. Once again, she was assured that her parent truly loved each other.
In that moment, Nadia enjoyed a brief surge of innocent bliss.
"Yes, Nadia. Daddy and Mommy love each other! We've heard that already," Bobby said seriously.
"Great! I'm happy. Are you happy too, Bobby?" Nadia asked innocently.
"I don't feel anything. It's Daddy and Mommy's business whether they like each other or not. I don't care about them!" Bobby pretended to be indifferent as he spread his hands and shrugged.
The boy could recall how anxious he felt when he saw his father with Brandy. For that reason, the boy had brought Nadia to visit Brandy.
As a boy, Bobby knew that he shouldn't be impulsive. He did not want to be as impatient as Nadia was.
His constant exposure to rumors about his father had forced Bobby to be indifferent.
After all, not caring was the boy's only way to avoid being hurt.
Bobby truly looked up to his father. As such, the boy knew that Charles could fix those problems singlehandedly.
"Don't lie, Bobby! I know you are still happy to know that Mom and Dad are in love! Otherwise, you wouldn't have attacked that kid who said that Daddy was teaching you howto be a playboy," Nadia said. "Nadia, will you please stop talking?" Bobby always
hated it whenever Nadia would tell stories about what happened in school.
