Charles' face was gloomy, but he didn't say anything.

"Mommy, you are a doctor. Please cure Aunt Nana as soon as possible, so you finally marry Daddy!" This was the idea Bobby had thought of after thinking for a while.

"Yes, Mommy. You are a great doctor. You can definitely cure Aunt Nana!" Nadia encouraged her.

Waiting for Charles' reply, Nancy stared at him in silence.

However, even after they arrived home, she didn't get any reaction from him.

Did that mean he had chosen his family instead of her and the children?

Disappointed, Nancy just went to the kitchen to cook forthem.

"Daddy, Mommy is unhappy! Aren't you going to follow her? You should coax her," said Bobby.

"Daddy, you are a man. Men should learn to coax women, just like Bobby. Yesterday, Ruby fell down and cried, and Bobby pulled her up. Then he said, 'I will blow your wound, so the pain will go away.' And you know what? Ruby really didn't feel any pain. Daddy, go and talk to Mommy." As she mentioned Ruby's name in her example, Nadia cautiously glanced at Bobby.

Fortunately, Bobby didn't get mad at her this time. "Yes, Daddy, men should learn to coax women. I think Mommy has made a big concession today. She even said she will marry you as soon as Aunt Nana recovers. Therefore, if you really want to marry her, you should replace a doctor to cure Aunt Nana!"

For a moment, Charles fell silent. Then he nodded. "I think you are right. Well, you can go and have fun. I'll coax your mother."

"You can do it, Daddy!" Before the two left, they smiled at Charles to cheer him up. Then they turned around and walked away.

Looking at their backs, Charles smiled helplessly.

Was it difficult to cure Nana's disease? It wasn't.

But it was not as simple as the children thought.

With a sigh, Charles came to the kitchen, but Nancy ignored him, and continued what she was doing.

"The kids asked me to coax you." Obviously, Charles deliberately teased her to get her attention.

"Wow. I see, you are very obedient," Nancy replied, but she didn't bother to look at him.

"You are their mother. I'm afraid that you will join hands to abandon me if I don't listen to them. If that happens, I'll be miserable and homeless." Charles pretended to look pitiful.

Nancy's heart skipped a beat. If she didn't personally hear him say this, there was no way she would believe that Charles would say such words.

He was afraid of losing them! This thought warmed her heart, but she didn't show it.

"This house is yours. What are you talking about? You won't be homeless. It seems that we will be!" said Nancy with self-mockery.

"Nancy, if you don't love me anymore and the children are taken away from me, my heart will be homeless. Please, don't leave me alone." To her surprise, Charles leaned over and held her in his arms. "Don't be so sentimental, Charles. I've told you that we'll get married once Nana recovers. It's easy. I've seen on the Internet that Joseph and Daisy are going to get married. Have you prepared a gift for them already?" Nancy asked.

"Yes, I've bought a house for them in Maldives. They can go there for their honeymoon." Because Charles face was so close to hers, Nancy felt his hot breath when he whispered.

"That's amazing. I like Maldives too." In fact, Nancy loved travelling, but lately, she had been too busy to do so.

"How about we get married on the same day with them and travel to Maldives together?" Charles asked in a low voice.

"Does that mean you will help cure Nana? If you really have nothing to do with the case of the club, then prove it!" An image of Nana, with a pair of invisible hands around her neck trying to kill her, appeared on Nancy's mind.

If it was not Charles who did it, then who was it?

As the days went by without her questions being answered, Nancy became even more upset. She couldn't figure out what was going on, but she knew that Charles could. Things would be easier if he helped

her.

"Okay."

Needless to say, Nancy was surprised with his reply.

"Really?" The scowl on her face immediately disappeared and was replaced with excitement.

After all, Charles had been resistant about this matter before. But now, he finally agreed to help her.

"I made a promise, so of course, I will fulfill it. I will help you with this case. You can rest assured." To be honest, Charles felt sorry for Nancy every time he saw her too preoccupied because of this case.

It was not that he didn't want to help. He just thought that since the police were ready investigating, he should leave it to them.

On the contrary, Nancy paid too much attention to this case. She was determined to get to the bottom of this.

"Then give me a certain date. Only then can I rest assured," said Nancy coquettishly.

"I can't give you an exact date, but I swear I'm going to do my best to help you. After all. I'm afraid that you and children will leave me if I don't." After saying this, Charles gently kissed the top of her head. His voice was so gentle that it melted Nancy's heart.

"Well, thank you. But what if the Fu family is really involved? What will you do then?"

Would it be Frederic? Of course, the possibility was slim. But what if it was? What would Charles do?

Or if the mastermind was any of the other members of the Fu family, what would Charles do?

This was what Nancy was worried about the most.

Looking at her expectant eyes, Charles smiled. "If it has anything to do with the Fu family, the one who did it will be responsible for it."

"Won't you protect them? Won't you try to hide the truth?"

"Silly woman, I am an honest businessman. I respect life and law. How can I protect them? I always believe that whoever commits a crime must be punished!" Although there was a light mocking in his tone, the gentle smile on his face remained.

"I just..."

"Don't argue anymore. You just can't believe in me. I know that." Before she could even finish her words, Charles interrupted her.

"If you want me to believe you, show me you're innocent. It's that simple," Nancy provoked Charles.

"You don't have to provoke me. That's just a trivial thing. Well, Nancy, it's really unnecessary. Let's cook. Nothing is more important than eating!" After washing his hands, Charles began to cook.

Then he took out the children's favorite codfish from the fridge, cleaned it up and steamed it in the pot.

All his movements were smooth, making Nancy realize how clumsy she was in the kitchen.

As he did all of these, Nancy stood aside and watched him.

"Charles, you're a cook hiding behind your CEO title, aren't you?" Slowly, a smile appeared on her face.

"Not just that. Don't you think I'm also an excellent martial artist, a politician, or..." Charles raised his eyebrows and didn't go on.
