Chapter 1006 Out Of Danger

In the midst of crisis, Darren realized that he had lost his avatar completely.

"Avatar, the ancestor is dying. We need your help!" Darren called out.

Next to him, the ancestor was dying. His body was riddled with holes after being stabbed severaltimes by the tentacles.

"I swear to you in my name..."

All of a sudden, the avatar's cold voice surrounded them. But before he could even finish his oath,another tentacle shot out from the void, and a figure in white followed suit.

"Humph! My Spirit Power covers the entire sea. I've already seen how you used this trick to defeatthe old ape. Do you dare use the same trick against me?" The voice of the Sea Spiritual King echoedaround them.

With the Sea Spiritual King's strong soul and Spirit Power, he could clearly detect what hadhappened in this sea by the second.

Prior to their arrival, he was already aware of the battle between the humans and the old ape, buthe refused to meddle with their affairs. However, he didn't expect for them to willingly come to himafterwards.

Therefore, he already knew their tricks, and he vowed to not fall for them. Particularly, he was waryof the strange Oath Rule. In fact, he had been preparing himself against the Rule Soul Avatar eversince they arrived.

"You have some skills. If you hadn't showed up, I wouldn't have caught you at all," the Sea SpiritualKing sneered.

The Rule Soul Avatar was now helplessly entangled by ten black tentacles. He couldn't move at all."This is bad." Darren immediately regretted his actions. The avatar could have avoided capture if hedidn't summon him in the first place. But now, there was nothing they could do. The Sea SpiritualKing had the avatar in his grasp.

"Let them go," the avatar demanded. The tone in his voice was cold and menacing.

"How dare you order me? What makes you think I will just let you all go?"

"Of course you will. You covet the Oath Rule for yourself,” the avatar replied.

A look of surprise crossed the Sea Spiritual King's face. It was as if this human had read his mind.Indeed, this human's Spirit Power was powerful too.

Then, the entire space shook.

Huge waves crested and fell as a dark shadow gradually formed into human-sized figure.

"I appreciate you very much. Now, pass the Oath Rule to me, and I shall spare your life." The SeaSpiritual King walked towards the Rule Soul Avatar.

"Let them go first.” The avatar looked composed in face of the Sea Spiritual King's own eagerness topossess the Oath Rule. He knew that the Oath Rule was his only leverage against the Sea SpiritualKing. With it, the latter would accept his requests.

"You want to save them? How about I kill all of them now?"

"You should know by now that your threats won't work on me.”

The Sea Spiritual King narrowed his eyes at the avatar and said, "You are smarter than I thought. Youcan actually see through me. So now, I've changed my mind. I'll kill the two of them first.”

"Go ahead.” The Rule Soul Avatar's expression was void of any emotions as he continued, "Youshould know that I am an emotionless creature. Your decisions won't affect me at all. These peopleare essential to me. If you kill them, you will never get the Oath Rule even if I die.”

These words shocked the Sea Spiritual King.

He did know that the Rule Soul Avatar was a ruthless and apathetic creature. This kind of creaturehad no human emotions and only cared about benefits.

"Human boy, you have won." The Sea Spiritual King finally conceded

The Rule Soul Avatar was unable to hold back his sigh of relief upon hearing the Sea Spiritual King'sremark. He didn't show it, but he was afraid that the Sea Spiritual King would end up killing his realbody. If that happened, he would perish as well.

"Get out.” With that, the Sea Spiritual King withdrew the tentacles and threw Darren, Hailey and theold man out of the sea.

"Now give the rule to me,” the Sea Spiritual King demanded.

Meanwhile, outside the sea...

"Darren, I..." Hailey was unable to finish her sentence as tears flowed freely from her eyes. Fatdroplets of them streaked her cheeks, smearing her beautiful face with grief.

"You what?"

"I'm sorry. It's all my fault,” she murmured.

"Don't talk nonsense,” Darren reassured, calmly.

"Miss, do you know why the Sea Spiritual King caught you?" the old man asked, curiously.

"I don't know. He mentioned something about devouring my blood to improve his Spirit Power,"Hailey answered.

"That's strange. Why would he be interested in a human being?" the old man mused.

"I think we should continue this discussion next time. We have to leave now," Darren announced."But your avatar...” Worry etched lines across the old man's face.

"I'm sure he can handle himself. His life isn't in danger, but we'll only cause more trouble to him ifwe stay. Let's go.” With that, Darren took off. The others followed right behind him.

Now that they had put enough distance between them and the sea, they could feel the tensionslowly leaving their bodies. Before they knew it, they were starting to relax.

"Hailey, you seem hurt.” Darren took note of Hailey's pale face. He and the old man had alreadyrecovered from their wounds, but Hailey's seemed to be a different matter.

"It's nothing. I'm just tired.” She lowered her head, avoiding Darren's eyes as she said this.

"Darren, I'm really sorry..." she apologized again.

"There's nothing to be sorry for. You're my friend, and I can't just watch you die.

But now, let's think of why the Sea Spiritual King is interested in you." Darren looked thoughtful fora moment.

Hailey pondered on this as well before saying, “I was searching for you and thought that the seawas the best place to replace you. I didn't encounter any strong beasts while I was there, but I ate twobright red fruits. They were sweet and delicious...”

"Really?" Hearing this, the old man's interest perked up noticeably. "Miss, can you describe the fruitusing your spiritual sense?"

"Okay, I'll try."

A moment later, Hailey conjured up the image of the red fruit and showed it to the old man.

"No wonder.” A look of understanding passed on the old man's face upon seeing the fruit.

"Sir, are you implying that the red fruit has connections to all these?"

"That's right.” The old man nodded. "This kind of fruit is called the True Spiritual Fruit. Legend saysthat its seeds fell from beyond the sky and have taken root here. Once you eat this kind of fruit,your Spirit Power will increase by a hundred fold. It is truly an amazing treasure.”

"Really?" Darren was in awe by this. "If the Sea Spiritual King eats this fruit, how powerful can heeR?

The Sea Spiritual King was already extremely powerful even without the fruit. Darren couldn'timagine how much stronger the Sea Spiritual King could get if he ever did eat the fruit. Heshuddered just by thinking about it.

"Miss, did you feel your Spirit Power increase upon eating the fruit?" He then turned his attentionback to Hailey.

"No, I don't think so. I am also rule cultivator, but I didn't feel my Spirit Power growing." Haileyshook her head.

"How strange!" The old man seemed disappointed by this.

"Forget it. Let's go back to the tribe first.”

"Okay."

The three of them sped up as they flew towards the Primitive Tribe.
