Chapter 1095 The Riots
Darren did not ask for much in front of the old man.
"Witcher ancestor, I'll leave him to you then.”
"No worries.” He then carried the old man up with his Witcher Power and the old man disappearedinto the air.
"Darren, look!"
After the witcher ancestor had concealed the old man, he pointed towards the depths of the void.Darren followed the direction the witcher ancestor pointed at, and was shocked in amazement.Another Crisis Star had lit up in the sky!
Although the light of this star was fainter than the first one, it was clearly shining in the vast expanseof the sky.
"Witcher ancestor, why did another star light up?" Darren asked immediately.
"Did the Shura go with you?" asked the witcher ancestor.
"Yes, he did."
"Then he should have obtained a lot, correct?” the witcher ancestor asked again.
Darren suddenly realized what the witcher ancestor meant by asking—the second Crisis Starsymbolized the Shura!
Since the Shura had obtained the God Character of his ancestor back in the Virtual Battle Space,Darren was worried he'd grown stronger. At present, the Shura was already a graver threat to theLothlann Continent than the first fiend ancestor since the latter's body parts hadn't completelyescaped yet.
"Oh, it's him. So I guess now I know who the five Crisis Stars you mentioned are.”
"Enumerate them, then,” the witcher ancestor said as he stared blankly at Darren; testing him.
"The first Crisis Star is definitely the mysterious man who is currently hiding in the River ofForgetfulness. The second one is the Shura. There's no doubt about it. The third one will be therecovered first fiend ancestor, while the fourth will be the immortal. As for the last one..." Darrenpaused for a moment.
"You are correct. Now, who do you think the last one is?" The witcher ancestor's voice was flat, butbrilliant green flames began to show in his eyes.
"It's me," Darren answered calmly without hesitation, and then added, "Or it's my friend, Scott?"The witcher ancestor looked at Darren—surprised but impressed. "Why do you think it could beScott?" he asked.
"In the Virtual Battle Space created by Hiram the Great, I was unable to use my dragon blood aura. The guardian stated that my dragon blood aura conflicted with the abilities of the destroyers in theupcoming fifth crisis. From this, only two individuals came to mind—Scott, or me," stated Darren infull honesty.
The witcher ancestor was silent.
"To be frank, even I have no idea who the fifth Crisis Star is," sighed the witcher ancestor hoarsely."Darren, I have a question for you."
"What is it, sir?"
The witcher ancestor quietly turned with his back to Darren, and spoke in a dark tone. "If it turnedout that your friend Scott is indeed one of the destroyers of the fifth crisis, what will you do about2"
"Kill him!"
To his surprise, Darren didn't hesitate at all. The witcher ancestor had expected Darren to hesitate atsuch a ghastly question. To his surprise, Darren was quite decisive!
"You have always been such a kind person. How could you do such a thing?" The witcher ancestor'svoice was very light and almost guilt-tripping.
"You see, sir. In my travels I've encountered countless people who've shown true kindness and valuefriendship. They too have brothers, sisters, and relatives. I can't leave those precious lives in thisworld to perish just because the destroyer turns out to be my good buddy.
But, if I really have to kill Scott, I will commit suicide to atone after the world is safe,” said Darren. Hecould not keep his composure as he spoke this truth. Deep down, his heart wrenched at thethought.
"Phew!"
The witcher ancestor let out a sigh of relief.
"Your justice and righteousness is truly unparalleled in the world.
Don't worry. According to my calculations, the probability of Scott being a destroyer is actually verysmall," said the witcher ancestor assuringly.
Darren kept silent for a while, then he asked, "So who is the fifth Crisis Star? Is it me?”
"Not quite," the witcher ancestor replied. His figure began to fade out as he said, "Next year, I'llsend you to the Godly City to cultivate.”
Darren's mind was in a mess after the witcher ancestor left.
He decided to quietly cultivate in the River of Forgetfulness.
Several days later, the water in the River of Forgetfulness suddenly turned muddy. This greatlybothered Darren.
"What happened?”
In a situation like this, Darren wanted to call upon the witcher ancestor to ask about it, but thewitcher ancestor didn't answer to his call after several tries.
Out of options, Darren flew straight ahead by himself to assess the situation.
Since he had passed the twelfth restriction before, he could flew straight into it without anyhindrances.
The color of the river water at that point was dark yellow; it seemed much darker than on theoutside.
Darren immediately spread out his spiritual sense and headed to where the one hundred thousandancient senior holy warriors were hiding out.
He found it unsettling that his spiritual sense was being blocked; unable to detect anything.
"Oh, my God. There is going to be riots in the River of Forgetfulness.” Darren frowned with hisbrows furrowed.
He was at a loss on what to do next.
"You don't have to worry about it. We still have peaceful days ahead of us.”
The hoarse voice of the witcher ancestor suddenly echoed throughout the space.
"How? Why?" Darren asked, confused. The situation seemed to have turned dire. He couldn'tunderstand how the witcher ancestor was calm.
"Even if you did want to do something about it, you aren't able to, are you? Only with great strengthcan you master everything.”
Darren bit his lip and did not reply. The witcher ancestor spoke a hard truth.
"Got it," replied Darren.
"It's none of your business in this area, but you can still do something about the riot in theforbidden areas. Hurry there. The riot in the forbidden area where the first fiend ancestor is stayingshould have started by now," said the witcher ancestor.
"What?! The forbidden areas are guarded by your Witcher Power. How could a riot be startingthere?” Darren yelled in frustration.
"The first fiend ancestor has already gathered five parts of his body now. My Witcher Power can onlysuppress him, but it's not able to trap him there forever. Moreover, my Witcher Power shouldprioritize the areas where humans reside to prevent the violation of the first fiend ancestor.Otherwise, endless slaughter would ensue.
Once the human race is in danger, it's a lost cause to try and protect this world,” the witcherancestor explained.
Darren kept silent as he mulled over a trifling question: If worst came to worst, who would he haveto choose to protect? Surely, the ordinary civilians had to be protected the most. They had nomeans to do this themselves.
"Then I will take my leave now. Please take care of this area for me," said Darren.
"Leave it to me."
Darren said nothing more. Still shaken by the words of the witcher ancestor, he swiftly flew awayand left the River of Forgetfulness.
As soon as Darren stepped into the Lothlann Continent, he saw the sky far away shrouded in anominous black fog. This was the aura of the first fiend ancestor.
"Damn it. He's really starting to take action!"
Darren gritted his teeth and flew forward; trying to locate the first fiend ancestor by following hisdark aura.
Darren arrived at one of the forbidden areas and found a figure floating in the sky from a distance. It was the first fiend ancestor using his power to break the Witcher Power defense hanging over theforbidden area.
"Fuck off!"
Darren shouted, standing in the air.
A beastly roar ripped throughout the space in reply.
Even from a distance, the first fiend ancestor sensed Darren's arrival instantly.
"You must die."
The ice cold words of the first fiend ancestor echoed into Darren's mind from afar.
"Humph! Last time, I failed to kill you, but this time I will have no mercy!"
In all actuality, Darren had zero confidence in defeating the first fiend ancestor—who had alreadymanaged to gather five body parts. Despite this, Darren had to replace a way to distract the first fiendancestor from continuing his attack on the forbidden area.
"You insect. You're far too arrogant.”
As the cold demonic voice sounded, the first fiend ancestor's bloody body flashed and headedstraight towards Darren.
Darren tried to keep a calm look as the fiend came towards him. He sensed the sheer power of thefirst fiend ancestor. The fiendish aura it wielded was now equal to that of a warrior at the higheststage of the Emperor Realm.
However, Darren was left with no choice but to fight him.
Quick swipes of a blade could be heard as they gained momentum.
The intangible blade and sword intents began to circle around Darren.
