Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 1144 The First Sight Of The Primitive Wilderness
As Darren and the others rose, immersed in the golden light, everything on the Lothlann Continentwas gradually growing farther and farther away from them.
After a while, they looked down and found that the world under their feet was as bright as thegalaxy until they couldn't see the Lothlann Continent anymore. It seemed to have become a tinyspeck among hundreds of millions of grains of sand.
As they slowly rose further, Darren and the others could no longer see anything except the brightgolden light.
"Close your eyes."
A voice warned Darren and the others.
Even without the warning, Darren and the others didn't dare open their eyes again. The golden lightshined so brightly that they knew they'd go blind if they tried.
After a long time, Darren felt his body become heavier. Then they began to fall.
The feeling of the wind on all their faces rustled some of them to open their eyes.
Darren opened his eyes first. What he saw was a desolate and ancient world
It was cold and misty. There was a bountiful primeval forest beneath a cliff. In the distance, the roarsof fierce beasts echoed every now and then.
"This is the Primitive Wilderness."
Darren had mixed feelings when he saw this ancient world.
"Welcome to the Primitive Wildness."
As soon as Darren and his companions descended, an old man with waist length white hairappeared beside them.
"Nice to meet you, sir."
Darren sensed him for a moment and found the seemingly ordinary looking old man had aprofound aura that he couldn't quite figure out.
"Politeness is not necessary in the Primitive Wilderness. In this world, the law of the jungle rules all. This is my first lesson for you,”
the old man said coldly. His expression was devoid of emotion.
"Now, I have something to tell you. Listen carefully.”
The old man paused for a moment and then continued, "There are many races born in the PrimitiveWilderness. They are all very powerful. At the bottom of this food chain however, is the human race. Therefore, we have to make every means to replace geniuses to enhance the strength of the populationof the human race, so as to get rid of our predicament of being enslaved by those stronger thanus."
Hearing this, Darren was confused.
"Get rid of the predicament of being enslaved? So, you're saying the human race is actuallyenslaved?” Darren's heart sank with despair.
"Do not speak unless I ask you a question.” The old man shot a cold look at Darren, and avoidedanswering his question.
"Tell me, when you were in the mortal world, did any force of the Primitive Wilderness come to ropeyou in?" the old man asked with a serious face.
Darren hesitated for a while and answered, "No."
"Tell me the truth.” This time, the old man’s voice seemed to be filled with a threatening god'spower as he prodded Darren.
"No." Lord Starry Sword had told Darren that they weren't allowed to go to the mortal worlds torecruit talents. In order to avoid unnecessary trouble, Darren said no.
"That's good." The old man nodded slowly and continued, "Follow me to the Ancestral Land, whereyou will be given ten years to cultivate. Then, all forces will come to choose disciples. Takeadvantage of this opportunity.”
"Wait!" Scott took two steps forward and asked, "Can we choose not to go with you and cultivate byourselves?"
"Are you sure you'd want to do that?" The old man turned around and looked at Scott with anintense gaze.
Scott was speechless.
"Are you sure you want to give up ten vital years of protection and cultivation period? If you insist, Ican agree.” The old man was still massively indifferent. He continued, "However, once you give up,you will no longer belong to our race. To be exact, you will no longer be a member of human race.”"What?" Finley gave a nervous gulp as he choked back his words.
The Water Kylin couldn't help jumping out and yelled, "Old man, you are way too arrogant! Wedon't need your stupid protection. You can fuck offt"
"You don't belong to the human race, so you shouldn't even be here. Calm yourself. I need thisReincarnation Master to make a choice.” The old man paid no attention to the Water Kylin'stantrum.
"Damn it! I really don't like you. You're such a prick. You can't blame me for bullying you!"
The Water Kylin jumped and swiped at the old man with his claws.
Bang!
Before his claws could even reach the old man, the Water Kylin fell to the ground. His body felt likeit was tens of thousands of kilograms heavy. He lay on the ground and didn't have the strength toeven raise his head.
The Water Kylin was terrified. “This ordinary looking old man is super powerful, * he thought.
"Little legendary beast, don't be so pompous. I'm the middle-level law god. How dare you bare yourclaws at me? One more strike from you and you're dead,” the old man warned sternly.
"Water Kyliln! Behave yourself!" Darren hissed. "We choose to go with you."
Darren made up his mind
"It's very wise of you. If you left the human race, you wouldn't have survived for more than twohours out here. Come with me. Don't look around when you are on the way, and don't provokeanything you see.”
As he spoke, the old man flew down the cliff toward the lush forest.
Following Darren's suit, everyone else began to follow the old man as well.
The rotten smell of dead trees pervaded in the humid forest and the wind that blew occasionallywas mixed with the rotten smell of corpses.
They advanced along a path with fallen leaves. The old man covered five kilometers with a singlestep. Darren and the others followed him.
"Howl!"
Darren and the others could see many powerful beasts along the way. Their roars were frightening."Are they Shuras?"
As they walked forward for a while, Darren suddenly saw two blood-red figures holding spears intheir hands. They looked exactly like the Shura Darren knew.
The two Shuras were attacking a huge beast. They roared so loudly that the earth and sky seemedto tremble.
"Don't watch. Keep walking."
After walking for a long time, they traveled about several thousand kilometers. On the way, they sawmany bloody scenes and many powerful and unknown races.
A faint light shone from the distance. Darren squinted to get a look, and saw a vague shape of whatlooked like a palace.
"Are we almost there?"
"Yes," the old man replied.
Darren unconsciously turned his head to look around again, and saw another bloody scene. Thistime, it was different. The actors of the bloody scene were not beasts, but humans.
"Howl!"
Several black creatures were mauling two humans.
Darren sensed that the two humans were about as strong as the old man.
After a short clash, one of the humans was torn into pieces, and the black creatures chowed downat his corpse, enjoying their food
Another human, standing in the center, looked upon his companion’s death with painful anguish."Get to safety!"
Darren shouted, ready to fly over to save that human.
"Stop!"
Unexpectedly, the old man let out an earth-shaking roar.
"Why? I don't understand. We just watched a human being die, and we can't save the other one?"For the first time since they arrived, anger and rage coursed through Darren.
"Save him? The Primitive Wilderness is cruel. This is survival of the fittest. What reason do we haveto save him? They have cultivated for ten years, but they are just at the middle-level of the PrimaryGod Realm. Their incompetence makes it clear that they don't deserve to live."
These two humans were human geniuses that had just come out of the Ancestral Land.
Darren gritted his teeth and let out a hiss of frustration. While they were speaking, the other humanhad been completely devoured by the black creatures.
"Howl!"
As if not satisfied by their recent meals, the black creatures looked at Darren and the others withblood lust.
"Let's go." The old man gestured for Darren to push forward.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Suddenly, several fierce figures rushed over.
