Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1240 The Plan

In the span of just half a month, the number of killing points that were bet on Darren's victory in theduel had reached tens of millions. There were a number of people who wanted to place their bets, but since not everyone could afford the one million killing points, the Gambling King lowered theminimum bet to ten thousand killing points. This was the reason why so many people had joined in."Darren, it's been half a month, and the number of killing points that were put on you winning thefight has far surpassed that on Caleb. He is running on only a three million killing point bet on hisvictory,” said Murphy worriedly.

"There is no need to rush.” Darren smiled and said, "Master Murphy, do you still have any killingpoints on you? If we bet more killing points, we could make a fortune.”

"Darren, don't think too far ahead. Think about how to win the battle first.” Murphy shook his head, trembling with a queasy feeling in his gut.

"Don’t worry about it. I have the confidence to easily win that battle. At the very least, I canguarantee that the Gambling King won't be able to play any tricks on me behind my back,” Darrensaid boastfully.

"So, what's your plan? Now that the killing points bet on you winning the fight are many more thanthe bets on Caleb."

If Darren managed to win this duel, the Gambling King would lose ten times the killing pointspeople had put in on the bet! That was to say, unless the number of killing points bet on Calebexceeded several hundred millions, the Gambling King would play tricks behind Darren's back.

"It's not a big problem. If I get seriously injured, the people who placed bets on me will definitely beantsy about taking their money back, and thus increase the bet on Caleb."

"What are you going to do about that?"

"You'll replace out pretty soon."

After Darren said this, he quickly soared off.

Later, Darren found Lindsay and asked her to summon General Kerr.

"Sir, what can I do for you?"

"I have something very important that I need you to do," said Darren, very sternly as he gave Kerrthe instructions.

"Yes, sir!" Kerr nodded and took his leave.

Darren then went to Murphy and asked, "Master Murphy, do you have many friends in thesurrounding area?”

"Why do you ask, Darren?"

"I want to ask you to invite the warriors from the different forces to a banquet. Let's enjoy ourselvesfor a change."

"What the hell are you pulling here?"

"Haha, let me tell you the truth. I've arranged for one of my subordinates to attack me and seriouslyinjure me while everyone is enjoying themselves at the banquet.” Murphy immediately understoodwhy Darren suddenly wanted him to hold such an event. The more people that knew that he wasseriously injured, the better.

"Alas!" Murphy gave a heavy sigh and said, "You've been so secretive with me lately. I thought youhad some kind of grand scheme ready. But it turns out that you've really just arranged for someoneto attack you? Nobody's going to believe you even if you try to pretend to be injured. They'll know.Otherwise, if you do actually injure yourself, you will not be able to defeat Caleb on the day ofbattle. This plan is completely useless."

Murphy was at a loss for words. He was terribly disappointed that Darren had been planning this forsuch a long time in secret, only for it to turn out to be so utterly pointless.

"Look, Master Murphy."

When Darren spoke, he stretched out his hand. A dark aura was flashing in his palm.

As Murphy felt this aura, his expression suddenly changed and his eyes grew in shock

"You! How did you obtain a fiendish aura?!"

There was a flicker of suspicion and hostility in Murphy's eyes as he stared daggers at Darren, awaiting a quick explanation. In the Primitive Wilderness, the fiend race was the biggest enemy ofthe humans. Almost all the humans hated the fiends to the core.

"Master Murphy, calm down. Allow me to let you read my memories.” Darren then sent all of hismemories about how he had transformed into a fiend directly into Murphy's mind.

After Murphy read through these memories, the hostility in his eyes faded away.

"Good job, my boy! I see that you have actually inherited the bloodline of the fiend race?"

His face beamed with admiration for Darren.

"It just so happened to turn out that way, I guess.”

"Anyway, it's a great fortune and advantage for our human race that you have this bloodline. Onceyou hone your strength, it'll be easier for us to deal with the fiend race and launch a surprise attack,”said Murphy.

"Let's discuss that later, then. Allow me to explain the plan. The subordinate I arranged to attack mealso has the fiend power, and this is what he is going to use to attack me during the banquet. Afterhe “hurts’ me, I will mobilize my fiendish aura, make it flow throughout my body, and even penetratethrough my heart. This way, no matter how they see it, I would look gravely injured.”

Darren was just a normal human being in everyone's eyes. If there was fiendish aura coursingthrough his body and into his heart, it would be very convincing that he was taking immensedamage. As far as everyone knew, the fiendish aura was extremely harmful to human beings. Oncethe fiendish aura was left in a human's body, their strength and health would quickly deteriorate."This method to fake being seriously injured certainly sounds feasible, but you must be cautious aswell. You cannot let your subordinate get caught,” said Murphy.

"Don't worry. I've already told him that he should run away as soon as he gives me a sneak palmattack. I'll try to replace a safe place for him to attack me," said Darren.

"Well, I wish you all the best in your plan.” Murphy nodded and then asked, "By the way, how didyour subordinate attain this fiendish aura?"

The question suddenly came to him, having just been shocked that Darren had it as well. If Darrenobtained it through mere coincidence, how did his subordinate also have the fiendish aura?"Master Murphy, I know some strong warriors whose bodies had partly mutated as the fiendish auraentered their bodies. Later, I met them by chance and managed to cure them through the use of myown fiendish aura. From then on, they also had the fiendish aura.” Nothing about Darren's tone ofvoice gave away the fact that he was lying right through his teeth.

Murphy nodded his head slowly as he tried to wrap his head around it. It seemed that he believedDarren's explanation.

"Well, then I'll arrange the feast right away, saying that it's to announce and celebrate you becominga disciple of the Lord Starry Sword."

"l am ever so thankful, Master Murphy.” Darren cupped his hands together in respect.

On an open field at the edge of the Ninth Precipitous Mountain were many tables and chairs, onwhich all kinds of delicious dishes were served.

Murphy had invited people from dozens of forces to attend the banquet. He was quite the popularone, and had many great connections in the area.

"Today I invited all of you here to introduce Darren. He is now a nominal disciple of our Lord StarrySword in the Starry Sword Region. I only hope that if Darren unintentionally does anything thatoffends you in the future, please forgive him."

He made up an excuse for holding the banquet, and it sounded reasonable.

"Haha, since he is the nominal disciple of Lord Starry Sword, we will naturally be polite to him. Please rest assured, Master Murphy.”

"Don’t worry, Master Murphy. Of course we will be nice to him for yours and Lord Starry Sword'ssake."

"Well, I don't think that would be so necessary. Darren is set to duel some guy at the Celestial GodRealm. I don't think he'll survive it."

"Nonsense! I heard that Darren could kill someone a realm higher than him. Even if the opponentwere a warrior at the top level of the Celestial God Realm, when he is degraded to be at the samelevel as Darren, they might lose to him, more so one at the low-level of the Celestial God Realm."People at the banquet started to have heated discussions on Darren's strength and odds at winningthe duel as soon as Murphy finished his words.

"I happened to have bet on the old man named Caleb or something winning the duel. I think I cantake this opportunity to attack this lad and test his real strength.”

Suddenly, someone soared through the air and landed right beside Darren.

"Boy, it is said that you have the strength at the upper-level of the Star God Realm. I'm DonnellyHuang, let's fight to see if you really have the strength everyone talks about,” the boastful mansneered.

"Trust me, you are not qualified to fight me. I'm afraid that one slap from me would be enough tokill you," spat Darren coldly.
