Chapter 1246 The Angry Gambling King
The fused sword intent once again poured into Darren's body. As it was enhanced, it pushed hisSword God Character to a higher level.
Darren's soul returned to his body, but he was exhausted. It had completely worn him out.
"Darren, you have great potential. I will treat you with respect, even if you do become my slave.”Caleb had activated the Blood Sacrificing Belligerence to defeat Darren. The two of them had beenfighting for a long time before Darren was brought down. Thus, he thought highly of Darren now. Itwould be beneficial for him to keep Darren as his slave.
"I have to disappoint you because you won't win," Darren said, raising his head.
The sword intent was swirling in his eyes. His power reached its peak in a flash.
Swish!
With a slash of the sword, a harsh, bright light soared into the sky.
The sword intent penetrated through the space and approached Caleb.
"What?!"
Caleb was shocked upon feeling the powerful sword intent.
How did Darren obtain such a powerful sword intent?
Without any hesitation, Caleb doubled the Blood Sacrificing Belligerence, forming a protectiveshield around his body.
However, to Caleb's disappointment, Darren's sword intent, combined with the powerful black god'spower, shattered his defense.
Shoop! Shoop! Shoop!
The sword intent went through Caleb's body, tearing his skin and boring holes into his bones. Hewas badly mangled, and it was a miracle that his heart was not hit.
Caleb fell to his knees in the arena, his strength completely diminished.
He looked at Darren, speechless and in shock. He was on the verge of beating Darren but at the lastminute, Darren turned the tables and got better of him.
"As I said before, I will spare your life.”
With these words, Darren slowly landed on the arena. If he hadn't shown mercy, Caleb would havebeen dead.
"Ha-ha, ha-ha!" A moment later, Caleb burst into laughter. He felt a pang of bitterness enter hisheart. "Fine, I lost. I didn't expect that you would be just as powerful as Mr. Feng. I feel ridiculous!"Darren shot him a cold look. “Let's stop talking about nonsense. You'd better run away as soon aspossible. The Gambling King has lost a lot this time around. If you stay around, he will take all hisanger out on you and you will perish.”
Caleb looked at him in disbelief. "Why don't you kill me? Why are you showing me mercy?"
"I am a man who always keeps my word." Darren had promised to spare his life when Caleb decidedto give up using the Gambling King's power.
"I will come back for you. I hope that next time, we can be friends.” Without any hesitation, Calebflew out of the arena.
The spectators who had been watching them were dumbfounded. Tens of thousands of peoplestayed silent with their eyes fixed on Darren
Darren jumped off the arena. The onlookers were stunned, but they finally realized that Darren hadwon.
"He won!"
"He won. Ha-ha. I have earned a lot this time! My bet paid off!"
"Darren is truly a genius unlike any other. As long as he keeps practicing, he can become a masterof the Superior God Realm in the future.”
"That's right! The last move he adopted—the sword intent, carried some of the aura of a SuperiorGod Realm cultivator. It's incredible.”
The crowd whispered excitedly among themselves.
"Darren! Congratulations!" Murphy came over and patted Darren on his shoulder.
"It was a close fight," Darren replied calmly.
Darren shot a glance at the direction where the Gambling King was seated. The Gambling King'sface turned deathly pale and his hand was trembling. He was livid with fury, and he stared at Darrenintently.
"Darren, you'd better leave as soon as possible. Don't let him hurt you.”
"I know. That's what I'm going to do," Darren replied with a nod. Such a volatile man was capable ofdoing anything.
Murphy watched Darren fly away, and he walked toward the Gambling King.
"Fifteen million points by a fluke. I hope you can deal with that,” Murphy said with a smile.
"A piece of cake," the Gambling King said. He appeared calm, but the resentment in his eyesbetrayed him. He took out a blood red stone from his pocket and threw it to Murphy. "It's all yours.Take care. With so many points in your hand, maybe evil ideas will rise in people's heads.”
"Oh, I believe that you're a decent man who is not too stubborn to admit his defeat. You won'tbreak your word and kill me, will you?" Murphy said jokingly. He laughed, but it sounded forced andhollow.
"Fuck off! I am a king here. I know how to admit my defeat,” the Gambling King sneered. However, itdawned on him how much he stood to lose. His face turned red, and he began to tremble oncemore.
"I'm leaving but before I go, I want the divine pattern fragments that I bet on.” Murphy extended hishand as he spoke.
The Gambling King gritted his teeth.
Immediately, a vast number of divine pattern fragments floated in front of them.
Murphy looked at them greedily and snatched up each and every one, securing them in a bag."Thank you. Bye." He then flew away as fast as he could.
The divine pattern fragments alone cost him fifty million killing points. The Gambling King felt as ifhis heart had stopped beating.
"Sir, I have wagered ten thousand points.”
"I wagered seventy thousand points and a level-one fragment.”
The gamblers all came to look for the Gambling King to claim their winnings
"Be patient, you lot. I don't have enough points with me. Please wait a moment. They're on their wayhere," he said loudly and clearly. The voice of the Gambling King was strangely calm, showing nosigns of anger whatsoever.
"It's alright. We can wait."
"That's right. We will definitely join the next game. Thank you for your generous rewards."
The gamblers were not worried that the Gambling King would go back on his words. After all, hewas a noble and came from a powerful family with great reputation.
The Gambling King nodded slightly. Then, suddenly, he disappeared. King Winfred had alsodisappeared.
"You have suffered great losses,”
King Winfred said regretfully, walking side by side with the Gambling King.
The Gambling King cast him a sideways glance, his eyes cold and calculating.
"You should bear half of my losses," the Gambling King said coldly.
"Pardon? Are you kidding me? You were the game master, not me. Why should I bear half of yourlosses?"
"You know as well as I do that Caleb's cultivation base did not improve in the end.”
"It was an accident. I didn't expect that young man to be so powerful. I thought we would win,” KingWinfred explained.
"I don't care. You have three days to give me two hundred million points, or else I will kill you," theGambling King said calmly. The calmer he was, the tenser the atmosphere became.
"Humph! Don't be so shrewd! You can't get my points.” King Winfred ignored his threat and flewaway.
After he left, the Gambling King took out a piece of parchment. It was dark red on the inside and onthe top right corner, it bore two words in an ancient language: “Killing Token."
"Darren Chu, Murphy You, King Winfred.” The Gambling King called out the three names, and theywere automatically written on the parchment.
In the blink of an eye, several black shadows appeared beside him.
"The first two are easy to deal with, three million points for their lives. However, King Winfred is aking of this area. I'm afraid it will not be easy for us to take his life," one of them said, his voice voidof emotion.
"Just do it. I'm sure there won't be any problems for you guys. Didn't you say that as long as theprice is high enough, you can hunt down even the masters of the Superior God Realm?" mused theGambling King.
"That's right. But you can't afford to kill a master at the Superior God Realm. Even the force backingyou up can't afford it," the man sneered.
