Chapter 1278 Killing The Feathered Monkey

The feathered monkey foamed at the mouth, thirsty for blood. He had already sensed Darren's fleshand blood and would by no means be letting him go.

"I'm afraid you're not capable of eating me,” Darren announced, his face darkening.

"Humph! Don't bother pretending to be strong! I can feel your cultivation stage clearly; merely atthe upper-level of the Domain God Realm,” the feathered monkey revealed with contempt for him.He brimmed with confidence, believing that he would be able to kill such a weak opponent with justa single blow.

"The Domain God Realm?’ Darren thought to himself. He was surprised that his revelation was soinaccurate, but soon realized the feathered monkey had not sensed the strength of his body butrather his soul.

"The Domain God Realm is enough to take on the likes of you!" Darren said calmly, clearlyunshaken.

"You must be out of your mind! Just yesterday I destroyed someone at the top level of the Star GodRealm and absorbed his strength into mine. You still dare challenge me?" questioned the featheredmonkey proudly.

A sense of relief washed over Darren when he heard this.

It turned out this monkey was only at the top level of the Star God Realm. He had thought thecreature was at the Celestial God Realm, but that was probably because he had sensed traces of thepowerful laws left on his body.

He knew there was no need to be afraid of the monkey now; his body strength had already reachedthe low-level of the Celestial God Realm, so this monkey would be no problem for him,

"I think it is time for you to die now," Darren said with a menacing grin creeping across his face."How dare you!"

screeched the feathered monkey as he pounced at Darren.

He struck Darren square in the chest with his claw, all his strength behind the swing.

Darren remained dead still, standing up straight; a motionless obelisk.

"What?! What's going on?"

The feathered monkey began back-paddling, wide-eyed and astonished.

"You are not at the Domain God Realm!" he squealed in disbelief. Even with all the strength he couldmuster, he could not break through Darren's defenses. He was shocked and rattled to his core. "Thisis impossible. I sensed so clearly that your soul is at the top level of the Star God Realm. How couldyour body be so strong?"

"Quite a surprise, isn't it? Does my flesh and blood still smell so good? Come on, let's see whatyou've got!" Darren said, calm and composed, towering over as he stepped towards the quiveringmonkey.

"Ha-ha," the monkey laughed nervously. "I think there's been a misunderstanding. I didn't mean tooffend you." He stretched a fake smile across his face and began retreating.

"Oh, I don't think there's been a misunderstanding. What were you just saying? What amazing skillswere you boasting about?" Darren asked, smiling devilishly.

"I don't have any great skill. I have to go now. Bye!" said the feathered monkey hurriedly, beforetaking off in the opposite direction.

Whoosh!

Did he really think he would be able to outrun Darren? In a flash, Darren was in front of the monkeyand stopped his escape with little to no effort.

"By the way, I forgot to mention, I possess an ability capable of ripping your merging ability awayfrom you. Perhaps I should give it a try," Darren said, pondering.

"No, please! I was wrong. I was a fool! Please, don't kill me!" pleaded the feathered monkey,kneeling down and crying out for his life.

"Your remorse appears truly sincere. All right. I won't kill you if you swear to believe in theConflicting Chief God for the rest of your life.” Darren would leave the monkey here and let him goon with his life if he could become a believer. That way Darren would benefit greatly if the monkeygrew quickly.

"Believe in the Chief God?" The monkey was utterly confused. He was born to be a Defiant Master,so how could he then believe in the Chief God? More to it, he had no memory of a figure such asthe Conflicting Chief God.

"You are a Defiant Master as well!" the feathered monkey exclaimed, suddenly realizing what wasgoing on.

"As well? Do you mean you are the same?" Darren asked.

"Of course! I have known since the day I was born. My existence is not permitted by heaven andearth or chief gods. Alas, it seems that we are fellow sufferers. It is fate that our paths have crossed.If you would be so kind as to spare me, I will serve as your attendant. However, you know thatDefiant Masters can't believe in each other, so..."

the feathered monkey said, raising his head and looking at Darren as a devout servant.

"I would be glad to call you my friend,” Darren agreed, nodding. He walked up to the monkey andhelped him to his feet. "You are wise. You may follow me from now on.”

"Yes, yes, yes." The feathered monkey nodded repeatedly, grateful for his life.

Suddenly, Darren launched a fierce attack, throwing a deadly punch into the feathered monkey'sback.

"You!"

squeaked the feathered monkey, turning back in horror after being thrown thousands of feet away."Did you honestly think that I didn't know you were plotting a sneak attack to kill me?" sneeredDarren. The monkey uttered words of surrender but his eyes were filled with murderous intent. If hehad spared him, he would have certainly been in grave danger.

There was another important reason as to why Darren did what he did. No Defiant Master couldstay in the tomb. It would be terrible if the blood essence creature and Avery found the featheredmonkey. Once the monkey had been killed and assimilated, Avery and the blood essence creaturemight get the chance to escape.

He knew of the monkey's cunning ways and would not spare his life for a few flattering words."Please trust me. I don't want to kill you,” the monkey said, stumbling towards Darren, pain strewnall across his face.

"Is that so? It seems that I have wronged you," Darren said sorrowfully.

"Yes, you have it all wrong. I really do want to become friends with you."

"All right,” Darren said, nodding. He then dashed towards the feathered monkey.

With hundreds of punches in quick succession, the feathered monkey was shattered to a millionpieces.

"Hooooooo!"

roared the feathered monkey, revealing his sharp teeth.

"You see right through me! It seems I will have to fight you to the death!" A strong law force begansurging on the monkey's body.

"You had hidden your intentions well, and almost gotten away with it,” Darren said with icy disdain.If the monkey had successfully tricked him and managed a surprise attack, his life would have beenin serious danger.

"Let's do this!"

Darren yelled, charging at the feathered monkey with all his physical strength

The monkey went berserk and became much more ferocious with the help of the remaining laws onhis body. But in the end, his cultivation level was too low and he stood no chance against Darren.The feathered monkey was defeated in fifteen minutes, his body broken and laying on the ground,dying.

Darren immediately activated his Assimilating Force to absorb the talent and Evolution Force of thefeathered monkey.

There seemed to be a bead inside the monkey's body as well, which Darren also assimilated

"Is this the monkey's essence bead?" Before he had the time to discover the bead's effect, he flewtowards the cave.

The sky began changing drastically. A mass of bloody god's power suddenly rushed overhead, tensof thousands of kilometers away.

"Oh my God! He's here."

Darren might have only been hundreds of kilometers away from the cave, but he was still in dangerof being caught. His adversary was a powerful creature capable of escaping Lord Starry Sword afterall.

Darren accelerated with all his strength, but the bloody god's power crossed hundreds of kilometersin an instant and was about to strike him.

The bloody god's power was already right behind him when he was only a few kilometers from thecave.

The bloody god's power exploded into a claw that came rushing at Darren.
