Chapter 1281 Here Comes Yama

The Rule Soul Avatar didn't say much. Instead, he transmitted a spiritual message to Darren's brain,which contained his previous experiences.

Meanwhile, Darren sent a message to the Rule Soul Avatar so that he knew what had happened.Both frowned when they processed the events that the other had experienced.

"I'm trapped in the abyss, and you are stuck in the tomb. There's no way out for either of us,” theRule Soul Avatar stated.

"Yes, I thought I could force my way out, but it turned out to be wishful thinking!" Darren shook hishead.

Now that the passage ended in the abyss, his soul was unable to return to his body.

On the other hand, the Rule Soul Avatar couldn't cross the abyss since the other end of the passagewas a supreme god's tomb.

"Hey, Darren! You haven't told me what's going on!" Jenifer interrupted when she saw the strangeexpression on both their faces.

"This is my real body."

"This is my avatar!"

The Rule Soul Avatar and Darren answered in unison.

"Oh, I see. Then, there's a problem. What shall I call you?" Jenifer glanced at the Rule Soul Avatarand questioned.

"Anything you like," the Rule Soul Avatar said with a smile.

"If both of you are present at the same time, how can I tell one from the other?" Jenifer askedhelplessly.

"How about this? You can call me Darren and address my avatar as Xavier. What do you think,avatar?" Darren suggested.

"I can live with that,” the Rule Soul Avatar replied with a nod.

He didn't object as Xavier was another name for Darren. Besides, it would only be used todistinguish Darren from his avatar.

"Okay," Jenifer said. Since she had known the Rule Soul Avatar for a while now and had grownaccustomed to calling him “Darren”, she thought it would be a little weird to call him Xavier. But,she didn't mind as he was still the same person.

"You're extraordinary. Not only do you have limitless potential, but your avatar is the same. What asurprise!”

After a long silence, the bloody body finally started to speak.

The Rule Soul Avatar scrutinized it with his silvery eyes.

A moment later, with a frown, he withdrew from his examination of the bloody body.

"Who are you?" the Rule Soul Avatar asked in his typical indifferent tone.

"l am Sheffield."

The Rule Soul Avatar's expression remained cold. Jenifer, however, was so shocked that her mouthwas agape.

"Oh, my! Are you a supreme god of the Primitive Wilderness?" she couldn't help but ask.

As Jenifer's father was a powerful Defiant Master in the abyss, she had heard many legends as alittle girl, including those about the supreme gods.

"You're right. Darren, come and help me open the last few restrictions. Then you'll have fulfilled yourpurpose,” Sheffield instructed with his frog-like hoarse voice.

His voice must have carried some kind of powerful magic as Darren stepped forward despite hisefforts to resist the summons.

"Break! Break! Break!"

The Rule Soul Avatar released a stream of power that shattered some of the laws hidden in thisspace.

Darren was then finally able to resist Sheffield's hold on him.

"The aura around you is too evil. I'm sorry, but I can't help you,” Darren replied calmly as he steppedback.

"I am a supreme god. If you help me, I will give you everything you desire. Are you sure that youdon't want anything from me?" Sheffield tried to tempt Darren, but he could not disguise the tracesof anger in his tone.

"I'm sorry, but that is correct. I don't want anything from you," Darren refused curtly.

The evil aura around the bloody body was too strong. Darren was certain that both the Rule SoulAvatar and he would die once he was set free.

"You made the right decision by not releasing him. If you had done that, you would be the sinner ofhistory.”

A strange voice boomed in the space a split second before a man in an official uniform appearednext to Darren.

Darren, the Rule Soul Avatar, and Jenifer stepped back simultaneously and looked at the man in theofficial uniform warily.

"No!"

the bloody body roared bitterly when he saw the man.

The entire hall trembled violently as if it were about to collapse.

This sound sent a shudder through Darren and the Rule Soul Avatar, and they felt a sharp pain intheir hearts. Jenifer, on the other hand, was traumatized enough for blood to pool in her mouth.The Rule Soul Avatar immediately gathered the laws to protect her.

"Sheffield, you can't get rid of the restrictions. This is your destiny,” the man in official uniform saidflatly.

The bloody body roared continuously in response.

"Who are you?" Darren asked.

"Yama! You are Yama!" Jenifer exclaimed. She was the first to recognize him.

As the Rule Soul Avatar had shared his memories with Darren, the latter was aware of what roleYama had played in their adventures.

"My apologies. I didn't recognize you," Darren said calmly, bowing to Yama

"Darren, you and your avatar have surprised me. If you survive and flourish, your futureachievements might equal mine. At the very least, you will match Lord Starry Sword's level.

But, truth to be told, it is too hard to survive in this world. In the past hundreds of millions of years,several talents with potential higher than yours, or even greater than that of the supreme gods,lived in this world.

It's a pity that most of those talents have died and that the chief gods have suppressed the fewremaining supreme gods and powerful Defiant Masters," Yama said.

"What is your purpose for telling us all this?" Darren asked calmly.

"Don't you understand? You are weak and in need of protection,” Yama pointed out.

It was evident that Yama was indirectly offering to protect Darren and his Rule Soul Avatar.

"That is a very generous offer. However, we're accustomed to our freedom. Moreover, we wouldn'twant to inconvenience you, Lord Yama. We are very grateful though," Darren declined politely."Don't rush to a quick decision," Yama said with a smile. He added, "I often invite talents like you tomy palace. I didn't mean to imply that you would have to surrender to me. I want us to be friends.Why don’t you think it over before giving a reply?”

"Thank you, but I don't believe there is no ulterior motive. If I estimated correctly, you are at least amaster at the Superior God Realm. I can't replace any reason to justify why you would lower yourself tobe my friend,” Darren rationalized. Darren was not a fool. Even mortals forged beneficialrelationships, not to mention the gods in the Primitive Wilderness.

"You are smart. I like you. Allow me to clarify. I was to recruit you because I'm preparing to fight andreturn to the land of the Primitive Wilderness,” Yama explained as he fixed his gaze on Darren"Oh? I'd like to hear more." Darren's curiosity was aroused.

"Do you know of a force called Hades Prefecture?” asked Yama.

"Yes, I've heard of it." Darren had read a scroll where the names of the nine regions and tenprefectures were listed, and he remembered them even though much time had passed.

"Let me make a long story short. My prefecture was located elsewhere before, but Hades Prefecturebanished us to this abyss. My plan is simple. I want to lead my followers out of the abyss anddestroy the Hades Prefecture,” Yama went on.

"Oh, I see. But I'm not sure that we can help you. You are aware that both my avatar and I are notstrong enough in cultivation.” Darren refused with a shake of his head.

"I can wait. I've spent over a million years waiting for the right opportunity to avenge myself. I don'tcare if I have to wait another million years. Besides, you will be stronger by then,” Yama added.

"A lot can happen in a million years. You might even replace other talents that are superior to me.Besides, look at us now. We're trapped in this cave connecting the supreme god's tomb and theabyss. Even if we wish to help you, we can't as we're unable to break free. So, forget about us,"Darren said bluntly.

His words rendered Yama speechless.
