Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1304 The Strange Ball

Finley projected his soul voice in the direction of the mist.

He waited. There was no reply.

Suddenly, there was an enormous boom.

Instantly, the foggy space began collapsing rapidly, as though the world itself was being crushedand destroyed.

Finley's expression changed. He felt as though his own soul was also about to collapse.

"What's happening?"

He gasped for breath. "Wow, * he thought to himself, as his soul quickly retreated from the space. He had not expected that.

Darren noticed the panic on his face and asked, "What the hell are you doing?”

"Nothing..." said Finley. His face was still pale.

"Finley, stop playing tricks. Are you doing this because you want me to notice you? Don't even thinkabout it," said Lindsay with a short laugh. Lindsay seemed to be reading his mind.

This time, Finley did not bother to explain. He smiled blandly and said nothing.

Lindsay felt strange about being ignored by Finley, but she didn't know why.

Her brows drew together. “So he's not even refuting my words. Is he angry?’ She sighed and beganmoving forward. The others followed behind her. “Forget it. Anyway, it doesn't matter if he's angry, because I don't have any feelings for him at all."

They had been walking for a while when Lindsay finally halted. She lifted a hand, beckoningeveryone to stop moving.

Jeremy was feeling faint, frightened by the strong aura. This must mean they were close.

Everyone began using their god's sense to probe their surroundings.

Murphy was the first to detect the aura of something alive. It came from about a hundredkilometers away.

"Someone's coming,” he told the others.

"Master Murphy, could you see it clearly?" asked Darren.

Murphy shook his head. "I can't see it clearly. It's foggy.”

Darren looked thoughtful. "It's likely to be the Archean Beast. Should we retreat now, or go andcheck it out?" Darren's question was met with silence.

No one wanted to answer him.

They all knew that if it was truly the Archean Beast, it was extremely likely that they would get killedif they confronted it.

Finally, Lindsay spoke. "In my opinion, we'd better retreat,” she said.

No one looked enthusiastic about Lindsay's suggestion, either. Although they were afraid, they werealso intensely curious about the power of the Archean Beast.

Murphy suddenly spoke again, his voice harsh with urgency. "It's too late! It's moving more quicklythan I anticipated. Everybody, run! It's coming!" His face was grim and anxious.

They could hear the faint sound of trees collapsing in the distance, then another crash of trees, much nearer this time, as though something huge was rampaging through the forest.

Even as Darren and the others started to flee, they realized it was too late. Something very powerfulwas approaching. They could not outrun it.

Murphy grimaced and stepped forward. He motioned for the others to step behind him, so he couldprotect them as best as he could.

A voice sounded near them. "Why are you running around? I thought I had found the target.”

It was a middle-aged man in a cyan robe.

Darren and the others were relieved to see that it had been a human coming towards them

"I am Murphy You, a disciple of the Starry Sword Sect. May I know who you are?" Murphy asked thestranger politely. He bowed a little, to show that he was not hostile.

But the stranger did not look pleased about encountering them. "No questions. Leave me alone. I'mlooking for treasure,” the man said coldly.

"Are you looking for the Archean Beast? We thought we felt its aura, so we came to take a look,"Darren said. He did not want to give up on their search, not at this point.

"Are you sure you sensed its aura?" the man asked doubtfully. He added, "You're all so weak! Howdo you even know that there is an Archean Beast here?”

"It was the law enforcers of the Ninth Precipitous Mountain who told us. Those idiots were headingin the opposite direction,” said Lindsay.

"So you really can sense its aura?" asked the man.

"We think so, but of course, we can't be sure until we actually encounter the beast. We're trying totrack it now," Darren explained.

The man's eyes widened. "Lead me to the Archean Beast. If you don't, I'll kill you right now," he saidthreateningly.

Lindsay stayed calm. "We think it's not too far from here. It will take some time to pin down its exactlocation, though.” In fact, she was waiting for Jeremy to wake up.

"All right. I'll be watching you and I expect you to tell me where it is as soon as you know. If youdare to lie to me, you'll be sorry,” the man warned

"What if we actually replace the Archean Beast? Will you reward us?" Lindsay said with a faint smile. The man said loudly, "Of course you will be rewarded. I can offer you the right amount of DivineEssence Stones." Everyone could tell he was only pretending to be generous

"No, we don't want that. It's enough for us to see what the beast looks like," Darren saidimmediately.

The man in the cyan robe was silent for a while, lost in thought.

After a few moments, he agreed to Darren's request. He was concerned that if he forced them toleave now, they would spread the news that there seemed to be an Archean Beast here. He did notwant others coming and competing with him.

Moreover, it wasn't his style to kill them directly. After all, he had his pride, and his reputation tothink of. It would be disgraceful if he slaughtered those people at will.

"If you replace it, I can agree to that. Otherwise, you know what you'll end up with," he said curtly.

"Got it. Thank you so much, sir!" Darren replied.

As they proceeded, the man waited. The minutes passed slowly. By the time a quarter of an hourhad passed, the man in the cyan robe was obviously impatient and on the verge of anger.

"How much longer? Are you cheating me?" he demanded.

"No, I'm almost done, sir.” Lindsay's spiritual sense had already entered the space she carried.

After a while, she finally woke up Jeremy.

"Jeremy, tell me, where is that thing?" she asked.

Jeremy trembled with fear. "I'm scared,” he admitted.

"Don't be afraid, my dear. You hide in my space, and nothing can hurt you," said Lindsay soothingly. After a pause, Jeremy said, "It's on your left.”

"How far?"

Jeremy flew directly into the air

to show her how far away it was.

She estimated that it was about three hundred kilometers away.

"All right. Thank you, Jeremy. You better hide now, and hide well.”

He nodded.

Lindsay was relieved. She withdrew her spiritual sense and went to the man in the cyan robe.

"I found it. It's three hundred kilometers away to our left,” she said with excitement.

The man sniffed.

"Wait for me to check,” he said.

In the blink of an eye, the man had dashed away. As he had shown when he first approached them,he had incredible speed. Darren and the others had to go as fast as they could to keep up with himThey kept their eyes on the man in the cyan robe. They must be nearing the spot Lindsay hadspecified, but they couldn't see anything yet.

'Oh, no! Did Jeremy make a mistake? If we gave the wrong location, this man might kill us all, *Lindsay thought uneasily.

Suddenly, the man stopped, and they all stopped behind him. They couldn't see any beast. Lindsaystepped forward. "Sir," she began, wanting to explain. The man raised his hand, indicating that sheshould remain silent.

Murphy went to stand beside the man in the cyan robe.

He seemed to be looking at something. "What is this?" he whispered. Darren and the others movedcloser to see.

There was something in front of the man, after all. It was just so small that his body had blockedthem from catching sight of it until now.

A ball floated in midair. It was about the size of a child's head. Darren stared at it. He thought itlooked familiar, but he said nothing and kept his expression impassive.

"Sir, is the Archean Beast inside that thing?" Lindsay asked in a low voice. Like the others, she wasstaring closely at the floating ball.
