Chapter 1348 The Blood Stone

With the help of his Spirit Power, the Rule Soul Avatar determined Jenifer's location very soon.Jenifer was currently being held in a small mine, where she was forced to work. Fortunately, herbreath was still stable and she didn't have any injury. Perceiving her condition, the Rule Soul Avatarwas somehow relieved.

However, he couldn't make a move right now. He needed to wait and grasp the overall situation inthe mining area before he could replace an opportunity to rescue her. He also needed to plan hisescape route, so he could smoothly take Jenifer out of this place.

"You! And you! Come over here!"

While the Rule Soul Avatar was still racking his brain, a fiend soldier suddenly emerged, calling himand Merle out.

They didn't try to make a scene and just followed the fiend soldier.

"We were informed that you two shall serve in this place for a hundred thousand years. You're goingto be assigned to mining area No. 18.

Now, take them away!"

The two were quickly accompanied by other soldiers and were brought to the northern part of themining area. They passed a dark tunnel and eventually arrived at the mining area No. 18.

They saw that the mining area No. 18 was not that big and only a few people were working there. Infact, there were only ten fiends in the place, working nonstop.

They didn't even pay attention to the arrival of the Rule Soul Avatar and Merle. There were no wordsuttered, not even a glance.

"Hmm, it seems that these guys are pretty strong.’ Merle had a faint grin on his face upon realizingthat he could merge with these fiends.

Without wasting any time, the Rule Soul Avatar used his Spirit Power to explore the area and sensedthat there was actually something special in the place.

Suddenly, both he and Merle were hit by an invisible force. They were caught off guard and felt anexcruciating pain in their heart.

They quickly looked around but found nothing.

Then, the Rule Soul Avatar took a deep breath and activated his silvery eyes.

What he saw startled him. It turned out that the mining area was filled with various laws, most ofwhich were the Shackle Laws, imprisoning the entire area. In addition to the Shackle Laws, he alsodetected some special Attack Laws.

Upon seeing all of these, the Rule Soul Avatar unleashed a tremendous amount of Spirit Power in anattempt to make contact with these Attack Laws

However, these Attack Laws were not easy to be obtained, and so the Rule Soul Avatar neededsome time to focus and meditate on it. He quickly sat down on the ground with his legs crossed andpoured himself into it.

Once again, the invisible laws attacked the two of them, but this time, only Merle was hit. The RuleSoul Avatar just sat still and wasn't affected at all.

"Hey! Quit standing there. If you don’t start working, you'll be repeatedly struck to death,”

an old fiend warned as he continued digging on the ground.

"Who do you think I am?" Even after being hit twice and experiencing terrifying pain, Merle stilldidn't move and remained stubborn.

Another law attacked him and he felt like he was already about to break.

"Xavier! Help me! Damn it!"

Merle bellowed harshly as he saw that the Rule Soul Avatar stayed unaffected by the Attack Laws.However, the Rule Soul Avatar was deeply immersed in the process of absorbing the laws, so hedidn't have time to care about Merle's whining.

"You useless idiot!"

Merle felt helpless, knowing that he wouldn't be able to bear more damages from the invisibleforces.

So, he obediently took one of the shovels and went on to dig the ground lazily.

"What the hell!” Merle was hit yet again.

"Your movement is too slow! If you acted that lazily, you will still be punished," the old fiendreminded Merle.

Merle gritted his teeth and was so furious, but he had no choice but to speed up his movements.But it wasn't an easy task. The rocks in the area were very hard and were difficult to break.

"The Blood Stone." The old fiend gave a brief answer.

The old fiend and the other fiends turned their heads and looked at him with surprised expressionson their faces. They knew that he wasn't lying because the confusion and curiosity in Merle's eyeswere genuine.

"How could you not know what the Blood Stone is?"

They were in disbelief that someone from the fiend race really didn't know anything about theBlood Stone.

"Yeah, I don't know about it. Just tell me!" Merle was pissed at their reactions and quickly grewimpatient.

"Well, where do I..."

The old fiend ignored Merle's outrage and was about to tell him about the Blood Stone when theRule Soul Avatar caught his attention. That was when he realized that even though the Rule SoulAvatar wasn't working, he wasn't being punished.

They saw that he was hit one time shortly after arriving in the area. But after that, he just sat therewithout being affected by the invisible forces.

They had been in this place for thousands of years and they knew that the power of the invisibleforces was absolute. But this man had somehow resisted them effortlessly.

"Hey, buddy, is he your friend?" The old fiend couldn't help but ask Merle as he pointed at the RuleSoul Avatar.

"What? No! He's my enemy." Merle shot a resentful glance at the Rule Soul Avatar.

The old fiend just shook his head and smiled faintly. From Merle's reaction, he could tell that theymust have a unique but complicated relationship.

"Young man, is it possible if you could ask your friend for some help? We just need a little rest.Some of us are too old to move now," the old fiend begged.

The group of fiends had worked in this mining area for thousands of years without ever stoppingbecause they knew the consequences if they did.

They chose to bear the overwhelming fatigue than being tortured by the invisible force.

All these years, their only dream was to take a break, even for just a little while. They didn't needanything else.

"Get off my back. I just said that he isn't my friend.”

Even though he was also too tired, Merle still upheld his pride and just ignored them.

"Ha-ha. Okay, fine." The old fiend just shook his head and smiled bitterly. He continued to work anddidn't dare to stop.

Merle almost went crazy. However, instead of asking nicely, he threatened the Rule Soul Avatar. Ifthis unbearable torture continued, he might really do it.

He knew that the worst result could be he and the Rule Soul Avatar would be killed together. But atthis point, he didn't care about it. He would rather die than experience this hellish suffering.Moreover, in Merle's mind, he was actually blaming the Rule Soul Avatar for being placed in thiskind of situation. Merle instantly perceived that the Rule Soul Avatar had just broken through to the middle-level ofthe Celestial God Realm. With the upgrade of his level, it meant that his strength would alsobecome more astonishing.

It was all thatthey longed for after all these years of constant suffering.

As one of the fiends turned, he saw that the Blood Stone was actually in the hands of the Rule SoulAvatar.

"What are you doing? Give it back to us!" Most of the fiends got agitated and demanded the BloodStone back.

However, they didn't dare to do anything rash like attacking him. After all, their power had terriblyweakened because of all those years of doing nonstop labor. Moreover, they hadn't got the chanceto offer up the Blood Stone to the higher-ups. If they stopped working, they would definitely beattacked by the invisible laws.

"Please, give it back to us.” The old fiend actually started crying.

However, the Rule Soul Avatar just stood there and observed the dark-red stone intently using hisSpirit Power.

As he analyzed it further, he found out that the stone actually contained the Order Law, which wasthe same Order Law that he had acquired from the dark-red chains.
