Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1376 The Terrifying Little Straw Girl

Darren and the young man traveled together. They stopped for a rest every now and then. Theyeventually came across a human along the way, but he appeared to have just died.

"The straw men must have killed him," said the young man, squatting down to look over the body."Yes, it would seem so," Darren responded.

Darren raised his head and scanned the area for footprints left by the straw men. He soon locatedsome, trailing off into the distance.

"Let's follow the footprints and see what this is all about.”

They tracked the marks on the ground for as long as they went.

A long walk later, they stopped, stunned by what they discovered.

There were many straw men of all kinds of different shapes and sizes, standing on the ground infront of them. They were all rough, tattered and damaged; some without arms and legs, somewithout heads and some with their buttocks turned the wrong way around

"Darren, look!" screeched the young man, his voice trembling.

Among the straw men lay around a dozen corpses. Judging from their clothes, they seemed to bethe human talents.

Darren's heart stopped at the sight of the bodies.

He quickly ran over to check the corpses, praying in his heart that Finley and his other companionswere not among them. If they weren't, they might still be safe somewhere.

Relief washed over him after he had looked over them all, replaceing that Finley, Weber and his othercompanions were not one of the dead that lay there.

"Let's get out of here. These straw men are quite vicious and I want no part of it,” said the youngman, a slight nervous urgency squeaking in his voice.

"Yeah..sure."

Darren didn't want to provoke these many straw men either. Falling back did seem to be their bestoption at the moment.

However, just as he was about to leave, he noticed something else that caught his attention.Several straw men had tied a group of humans together with straw ropes and had dragged themover nearby.

Darren sensed that the humans were all still alive.

"You'd better let go of me now, or I'll be forced to burn you all to ashes!

Are you pretending to be deaf? That's it, you've sentenced your whole family to die..."

Darren was shocked. There was no mistaking that voice; it was none other than Weber!

Weber had been captured.

In fact, it seemed that he was not the only one. Darren also detected the auras of Eallard, Finley andSally.

Although he burned with rage, he felt grateful as well. At least they had only been captured and notkilled.

He could not leave now. Finley, Weber and his other companions were being held; he needed tofree them.

"Darren, what are you waiting for? Let's go!" urged the young man softly, lying in the grass on hisstomach.

"Go? Have you checked to see if any of your friends are among those captured over there?"

"We don't have time for that. Staying here is just asking for death. All we can do now is pray forthem. God bless them," said the young man, backing off and wanting to leave.

"Ha-ha," Darren sneered. "You're right. You can run away now."

"What do you mean, Darren? You're not leaving with me? Why are you being so stupid? Saving yourown life should be your first priority, and then you can think about other things," said the youngman seriously, a true coward at heart.

"I do not need your advice! Leave if you want to so bad!" growled Darren back at him, angered byhis insistence on running from doing what was right.

"As you wish, do as you please then," sighed the young man.

He then quietly slipped away after seeing Darren's intense displeasure, wondering why Darren tookhis words so hard. Staying was obviously not the wisest move at the moment.

But he had failed to consider whether Darren thought of his own safety when he had rescued him.Darren hid in the grass alone, holding his breath and crouching low, meditating and waiting for histime to strike.

The straw men dragged the group of humans over to where even more straw men had gathered. It was then that Darren saw a little girl limping out to the crowd. From what he could see, it seemedto be a little straw girl, but she still looked as rough as the others. Both her pigtails had been tiedhaphazardly with different kinds of withered straws.

"Where is my mom?"

she asked in a childish voice, so loud in the stillness and quiet of the wilderness.

How could the straw girl speak?

Darren was astonished by the sound of her voice. He had not heard a creature utter a word since hehad entered the Archean relic, apart from the straw man who would repeat his words. Not only hadshe spoken, she spoke the human language in the Primitive Wilderness.

How could this be possible?

There was a gap of billions of years between the Archean Age and the present. How did shemanage to learn the human language in this era?

Darren stayed hidden, waiting to see how this would play out. If these straw men intended to killWeber and the others, he would have to rush over and rescue them, no hesitating.

"Where is my mom?" the childish voice asked again.

The captured humans were dumbstruck as well. It took a long time for them to snap out of theirconfusion and astonishment and realize what was going on.

"Little girl, your mom was taken by a cat. I had nothing to do with it. Let me go. Look howhandsome I am."

Weber did his best to force a warm smile, his face fatter than anything else.

"Where is the cat?" the straw girl asked, tilting her head contemplatively.

"It's very far away. If you let us go, we'll take you to replace your mom, okay?" Weber said, squattingdown to her level and using the most caring voice he had.

Bang!

The little straw girl kicked him square in the face.

"You are so ugly,” she said, withdrawing her foot with her face twisted in disgust.

Weber slid across the ground for what seemed forever, his face tracing a clear line in the grassland."What have I done? God, guide me..." Weber was on the brink of crying now. Why did he alwayshave to get hit in his handsome face?

It was quite a while later when Weber finally picked himself up.

When he finally got to his feet, his face was swollen and had turned a dark green.

"Where is my mom?"

the straw girl asked again, more aggressively this time and walking towards another human.

"I. don't know..."

the man replied, terrified.

The little straw girl continued making her way around to every human, asking the same question.Once everyone had the question posed to them, the little straw girl sulked off to one side alone andsquatted down on her haunches, cupping her chin in her hands. She sat there, frustrated anddejected, staring off into the distance and sighing.

Whoosh!

The girl turned her head to the humans.

Something seemed to possess her as her face expanded, her mouth stretching wide open like adeep crack in space itself, revealing many sharp, black teeth.

Her two muddy yellow eyes suddenly flashed with strange light.

Every human that set their eyes on her shuddered in terror.

From afar, Darren sensed her change as well.

"You all deserve to die!"

Her bellowing voice echoed, her voice sounding like countless voices all speaking at once.

"Go to hell!" she roared ferociously, raising her head to the sky.

As a result of her powerful voice, a wild wind kicked up and swept across the entire wilderness."Hahaha..." she laughed barbarically.

"Damn it! She is going to kill them!"

Darren yelled out and immediately flew out to her.

"Stop! Who the hell are you?"

Darren shouted, his voice intimidating.

The straw girl shifted her gaze to Darren and opened her massive mouth like she had created ablack hole right where they stood.

A peculiar beam of light shone from her mouth and shot out at Darren.

Darren dodged without even thinking and made the straw man that had been following himpositioned in front of him.

Bang!

The beam of light struck the straw man head-on and sent him flying

Darren stepped back and landed beside him. He had thought the straw man would be dead already, but to his surprise, he was totally unharmed.

After she had struck down the straw man, the little straw girl didn't move anymore. Her eyes werefixed on Darren's straw man.

"You variant straw man, how dare you oppose me?" the straw girl roared frighteningly.

The straw man sprung to his feet and stood facing the straw girl.

In the next moment, his arms had turned to a blade and a sword.

Ignoring the straw girl's horrific eyes, he jumped over, leaping huge strides with no signs offlinching or slowing down.

"Go to hell!"

the straw girl shouted viciously.
