Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 1401 The Flawed Formula
How terrible was the power of time?
Three seconds could feel like a hundred thousand years. Sometimes, it could even be a million yearsor even longer. It could leave you trapped in endless loneliness, driving you crazy in the end.
At that moment, Darren could feel his control over the power of time slipping. It had now invadedhis body.
A deep sense of loneliness overwhelmed him.
Every moment felt like ten thousand years had passed through him.
He had experienced this before, so he knew what to do. He had to empty his thoughts and think asif nothing existed.
He sat down with his legs crossed. Boredom was slowly creeping its way inside him, but he keptpushing it away.
“This is a test of one's will," he thought.
Everything existed for a reason here in the inheritance space. This was definitely a test. He just hadto safely pass it, and he would finally have the chance to obtain the inheritance.
With that, he could feel himself loosening up. His head was clear from any thoughts
"Look. Darren seems to be fine."
This was how everyone else found him. Nobody dared speak up, only using their spiritual sense tocommunicate with each other. They didn't want to disturb him.
About a quarter of an hour passed when Darren finally opened his eyes.
His gaze landed on the people in front of him. And the feeling as if a lifetime had already passedwashed over him. It made everyone seem strange.
Gradually, his memory flooded back to him like an unrelenting tide. Everything became clear again."Darren, are you alright?" someone asked.
Darren stood up slowly, trying to regain a sense of normalcy. "I'm fine. I've just passed the testsafely. However, time can still attack us here. I must now pass on my experience to you. Justremember to relax.”
He then showed to the rest what had transpired during his test through his spiritual sense.
"Oh, I see! Ten thousand years in just an instant! That is truly terrifying!"
"It is fortunate that Darren had succeeded with the test. Otherwise, we might go crazy when it's ourturn.”
Relief rushed through everyone. Thanks to Darren, they were now prepared to face the next test.Nobody knew how long they stayed there. Everyone experienced the passage of time differently. But with the knowledge passed on by Darren, most of them survived. Only a few of them wereunable to resist time and were driven mad. Those people were knocked into a coma by the othersso that they wouldn't end up committing suicide.
As soon as most of them started to recover, rays of light suddenly lit up the void.
The light enveloped them fully as if baptizing them.
And when it dispersed, they realized that everyone else was gone.
Darren waited quietly. The light had temporarily blinded him.
But then, a red light dot appeared. It quickly flew over from a faraway place.
As soon as it got nearer, Darren realized that it was a blade.
It was blood red all over. Ancient patterns were engraved on the hilt.
Darren found himself wary of the blade. He was prepared to defend himself from any possibleattack.
Sure enough, the blade moved suddenly and flew directly into the light.
"Why didn't it attack me?"
Darren was surprised by the blades behavior. He was expecting it to attack him.
Instead, he found himself standing there and watching the blade fly higher.
"Ah! Perfect! Are you practicing the blade formula?”
As he watched the blade dance, he realized that the blade was probably doing a blade formula
"If this is indeed a blade formula, then it's perfect!”
The trajectory of the blade dance was even more perfect than the supreme sword formula that hecurrently possessed. He could only imagine the power this blade formula had.
"Blade formula? No!"
Something occurred to Darren.
'Was I supposed to memorize the blade formula during my trials?"
It was then that he realized that this was one of his tests! He couldn't afford to miss any details. He tried recalling what he had just seen. Luckily, the blade tracks were still fresh in his mind.
Soon, the blade stopped moving. It now stood in front of Darren.
"This is the Blood Thirst blade formula. I created it myself. It's not perfect yet since it has eighthundred and fifty-two flaws. It can only display its full power once it's flawless. Thus, you can obtainthe inheritance if you perfect the formula. Now, please study it."
A voice came through time and space, startling Darren.
However, its words had only left him feeling confused.
'How can he say that this blade formula has eight hundred and fifty-two flaws? It's already perfectas it is!" he thought. 'But I can only obtain the inheritance if I improve it.
What the hell are the flaws anyway?
This test is just so..." Darren found himself unable to replace the right words to describe his currentpredicament. In his eyes, the blade formula was already flawless as it was. The blade formulascreator was simply being too demanding.
“Well, I'll analyze this slowly."
Since the creator had already pointed out that it had more than eight hundred flaws, he wouldeventually sense them somehow. But for now, he should analyze and comprehend the formula first. After recovering from his initial shock, he quickly realized that he was lucky. If this was a rulecultivation method and not a blade formula, he would be doomed. Likewise, he wouldn't have theconfidence to replace out its flaws if it had been a spear formula
This thought calmed him down a bit. It cleared his mind so that he could recount the past events. He let the whole dance play out inside his head.
Upon recounting its movements, he found himself stunned once again.
It was indeed such a perfect blade formula! It had nine moves. Each movement contained a hundredstrikes.
Counting it all up, the Blood Thirst blade formula had nine hundred strikes all in all.
And among those nine hundred strikes, there were eight hundred and fifty-two flaws! That meantonly a small number of blade strikes were perfect. The rest were all flawed.
Feeling a bit hopeful, Darren watched the blade dance again, relying on his memory.
"A horizontal slash? There's nothing wrong with that." He watched it several times again. If god'spower was exerted in this slash, it would definitely divide the attack into hundreds of strands, hittingevery vital part of an enemy! Perfect!
But he couldn't help but doubt his observation. After all, there were so many flaws in the wholeformula. There was only a small chance that this strike was flawless.
With that, he observed it once more. This time even more carefully than before.
"Ah! I see it now. There is indeed a flaw in this first strike!" He had finally come to the conclusionafter watching it countless times.
The strike alone was absolutely perfect, but it still had its weaknesses. It wasn't compatible with thesecond strike at all! The second slash was to kill the enemy from seven hundred and twentydirections all at once. It would require the blade to fall from the sky. If a horizontal strike followedthe second slash, the movement would become weak and inefficient.
If the first strike was done upwards, the moves could go more smoothly. It would also reduce itsgod's power consumption.
“That's it! The strikes may look perfect, but if you consider them as a whole, the formula is indeedflawed.’
He now understood what the creator meant. The blade formula might look like a perfect cultivationmethod at first glance, but it really needed to be improved.
With this understanding, he had almost forgotten that this was part of the test. He was moreinterested in developing the blade formula.
'The second slash is also flawed. It gives room for the enemy to escape!"
A real perfect blade formula would seal off all escape routes that the enemy could potentially use.Leaving even the slightest opportunity could let the enemy get away.
