Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1423 A Glimmer Of Hope

"How dare you!"

Nasir shouted. He was a sect leader and someone had dared threaten to kill him right out in theopen, for all to see. How could someone be so foolish? He could not let this slide.

"I don't care who you are, you bastard. If you dare cause any sort of trouble in our sect, I swear youwill never make it out alive!"

Darren stared back at him blankly and said nothing more, but a sword intent then spiraled out fromhim.

In an instant, the clouds grew darker and the air seemed to have thickened and created anunnerving atmosphere.

"Guards, kill him where he stands!"

Sensing Darren's aura increase did not raise any fears in Nasir. At his command, more than tenelders of the sect showed up out of nowhere and attacked Darren one after the other. It seemed asthough Darren was done for. Or so Nasir thought.

The elders were all at the low-level of the Celestial God Realm.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

They launched powerful attacks at Darren, holding nothing back.

Whoosh!

Darren's sword shone brightly, the light reflecting off it brilliantly as he swung it.

The sword strike sent all the elders flying off into the air with ease.

Everyone was stunned. They knew Darren was only at the top level of the Star God Realm, yetsomehow he had defeated more than a dozen warriors at the low-level of the Celestial God Realmwith a single move. This terrified them; what untold strength did he possess?

"Who are you?" Nasir asked wearily.

He did not dare move again after witnessing Darren's incredible strength. Provoking such apowerful warrior was certainly not in his plans.

"I am Darren Chu," he replied with rock solid confidence. He pointed his sword at Nasir and askedsternly, "Where is Elsa? Tell me or face your doom!"

"Humph, I told you I don't remember this person. I have sent someone out to investigate. You seeminsistent on fighting me so it is clear you're here to cause trouble. I'm offering you a chance to leavewith your life. I can forget what just happened, but if you continue causing trouble, I will be forcedto report it to the Blood Cloud Palace. And when their elders arrive, you will regret not having fledlike a scared little dog.”

Nasir spoke, feeling he had nothing to fear. His sect was close to the Blood Cloud Palace. Ifsomeone like Darren ever came in disturbing the peace, all they needed to do was inform the BloodCloud Palace right away and their law enforcers would come by soon after to resolve their problems. He would probably have to report this situation anyway as it seemed the person Darren asked ofwas of great importance.

"Go to hell!"

The more Nasir tried to keep the answers he needed from him, the more anxious Darren got. Hewas so filled with rage now he could no longer contain himself.

Shoop! Shoop! Shoop!

Three Spiritual Flying Swords pierced straight through Nasir's body.

"Huh!"

Panic filled Nasir's eyes. He was caught totally off guard; he had never imagined this young manwould have Spiritual Flying Swords. As far as he knew, only powerful warriors in seclusion werecapable of creating weapons such as the Spiritual Flying Sword.

'Who the hell is this guy?

I must report this to the superior as soon as possible!" Nasir thought in his shock.

In fact, when he had sent people to investigate Elsa, the elder who had carried out the order hadalready realized the importance of the matter and reported it to the Blood Cloud Palace. The elderhad heard tales of Elsa; she was one of the most talented warriors that had been accepted by thesect in the last ten thousand years. She was obviously on the elders radar. More to it, someone likeDarren asking after Elsa was bad news, so he decided he had to report it.

Nasir's vital parts had already been penetrated through by the three Spiritual Flying Swords.

He immediately activated his god's power to form a protective shield around his body, retreatingwildly as he did.

But his speed was not enough to dodge or outrun Darren's Spiritual Flying Swords.

The Spiritual Flying Swords struck Nasir's protective shield, sending ripples throughout the spacearound it like disturbed water.

Boom!

The ripples spread out like deadly shock-waves and cut the top of the mountain clean off anddamaged the high palaces as well.

It was a truly terrifying force.

Everyone was astounded by this young man that had the strength of the middle-level of theCelestial God Realm.

Nasir's shield was shattered like glass under the impact of the strike. He desperately mobilized hisgod's power once more and retaliated.

The violent explosion that erupted from the attack caused the Cloud Refinement Sect to collapse. The three Spiritual Flying Swords were obliterated by Nasir's bombardment of attacks. Nasir hadalready retreated hundreds of thousands of feet by the time the dust had cleared.

He steadied himself with great difficulty, doing his best to regain composure before he flew back."You!" His body was covered in splats of his vital energy and his own blood. He wanted to shoutcurses at Darren but his throat tightened and instead spat out a mouthful of blood.

"This punishment is just a preview. Next time, you will die,” Darren said, his voice thick with hate."Alright! Alright! I'll tell you!"

"He's too powerful. He's not kidding; if he gives it his all, I will no doubt die,” thought Nasir tohimself.

"Elsa was here. She came to our sect, but only cultivated here for ten years before she eventuallyleft," Nasir revealed.

Whoosh!

A sword intent suddenly charged at his head but he managed to get out of the way.

"Bastard! I've already told what you wanted to know. Why are you still trying to kill me?" he snarledat Darren.

"You just said earlier that you knew nothing about Elsa, and now you've given me uselessinformation. Do you take me for a fool?"

Darren's killing intent was fierce now. Nasir obviously knew something about Elsa but still tried totrick him. Something was amiss here...

"Humph! That's all I know. If you want more you'll have to take your inquiries to the Blood CloudPalace,” Nasir said defiantly. He turned to face Darren side-on. He stood his ground, continuing toclaim he knew nothing else, even if Darren wished to kill him.

"Well, then you are useless to me and do not deserve to live."

Darren vanished and a divine sword appeared around Nasir's neck, ready to take his life.

Nasir had been pretending to be calm but had in fact been on guard the entire time. The momentDarren moved, he was ready for it, ready to take the chance and he sprinted madly towards the secthall.

He had only gone a few hundred feet before he was cut off by countless blade shadows in front ofhim. The aura of the god's power attached to the blade shadows was no weaker than the swordintent behind him.

All his avenues of retreat had been blocked off.

Nasir had never seen such an impeccable move executed so perfectly. Even the rule cultivators atthe same level would be unable to avoid this attack.

The aura of death enveloped him, almost suffocating him and sending him into a panic.

"Hey, hey, calm down. I'll tell you more!"

Nasir shouted out, left with no other choice.

More swords and blades than could be counted had already started raining down on him. He knewthat these blade shadows were on their way to slam right into his head.

He closed his eyes, giving over to his despair, when he felt a gust of cold wind blow past his ears.Somehow, he had felt no pain.

He opened his eyes, trembling and deathly pale to discover that the horrifying blade shadows haddisappeared without trace. The sword intent behind him had quietly vanished as well.

His mind was a blank. What had just happened? How had he survived?

A sword gleaming with an icy glare pressed up to his throat, close enough to shave the hairs on hisneck.

"This is your last chance!"

Darren roared with seemingly all his strength behind his words. He had lost all his patience.

There was one reason holding him back, the same reason that had made him change the attackingtrack of the blade shadows. He knew that killing Nasir would do him no good. He could not get anyinformation if he was dead.

"Some law enforcers took Elsa."

"What law enforcers?" Darren frowned.

"Law enforcers from the Blood Cloud Palace. I don't know exactly what happened or why. Ten lawenforcers showed up to our sect and took her away without any explanation. It was all verymysterious. Later, I inquired about it and almost lost my life for it. It's not that I didn't want to tellyou. I didn't dare to, for my own safety,”

Nasir blurted out, his voice trembling meekly.

"I believe you."

Darren had finally calmed down. He did not know what had happened to Elsa, but now there was atleast a glimmer of hope.

"By the way, sir, I heard that Elsa was..."

Bang!

Suddenly, a palm appeared from thin air and attacked Nasir, bulldozing through his chest. His auradissipated in an instant.

Several shadows flashed and darted around, landing in front of Darren.

Four old men stood solemnly before him, wearing bamboo hats.
