Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1450 A Good Bargain

The two sets of cultivation method of the Deputy God Realm level were priceless to all regionleaders.

More infuriating was the dozen level-eleven divine patterns Kermit had set as the price and was sodesperate for. Even some deputy gods had not yet gathered a dozen level-eleven divine patterns, let alone these region leaders!

Ordinary people could not understand the value of these divine patterns; it was beyond theirimagination.

Connor had been the leader of the Blood Cloud Region for many years and had only integrated ninelevel-eleven divine patterns, the other divine patterns he used being level-ten.

Yet somehow, Kermit still asked for the ridiculously high price of a dozen level-eleven divinepatterns. How preposterous!

"Kermit!"

Hood grumbled seriously. Both Connor and Darren remained silent, their faces straight and blank."You've gone too far. Don't you think that price is a bit too high for hiring a master at the top levelof the Superior God Realm? If not for the fact that no one else is able to set foot in the ChaoticRegion, hiring a middle-level deputy god would have been enough!

Let me explain something to you then. One of these two masters has been an old friend of mine formany years. The other is the benefactor of the human senior leaders. Do not ask too much of themI urge you to reconsider!”

The more Hood spoke the more his rage built up. He had asked Kermit to take on this task, takingfor granted that he would offer a moderate price because the leader of the Blood Abyss Sect andHood were disciples of the same master. But much to his surprise, Kermit had his own plans, plansto overcharge. It was quite embarrassing for him to have to deal with this.

"Master Hood, please listen. This is after all a life threatening task. Bid too low and these top levelSuperior God Realm masters will not be moved. I believe they would rather cultivate than take thatoffer. So you see, the price I ask for is in fact not high at all. The great masters will only accept sucha price. Trust me,” Kermit explained sincerely.

"Okay," Hood said flatly. "In that case, we can't afford it. Thank you for your time. That'll be all.”"Then I'll take my leave. See you again sometime.” Kermit did not bother wasting any more timeseeing as they were not willing to pay the large sum he was asking for.

"Take care,” Hood said indifferently. He paused for a second and then murmured, "Oh just by theway, I was thinking that my senior brother must be quite rich now; the Blood Abyss Sect has sentout masters at the top level of the Superior God Realm at least seventy to eighty thousand times inthe last million years. At that price, he must have saved seven to eight hundred thousand level-eleven divine patterns. I'm sure he'd be generous enough to give up a few thousand.”

He spoke softly but it was enough to reach Kermit's ears.

Kermit stopped in his tracks and asked back, "What do you mean, Master Hood?"

"Forgive me. I didn't mean to offend you." Hood's face darkened, his menace clear on his face as hespoke. "You've been a guard for what, about one hundred thousand years? You've no doubt dealtwith thousands of requests for tasks requiring masters at the top level of the Superior God Realm. Ibet quite a few level-eleven divine patterns must have passed through your hands. Pity you had tohand it all over to your leader. You must not have made too much money yourself. I'll talk to mysenior brother later and ask him to raise your salary."

Kermit's face twitched behind his mask before Hood had even finished speaking. His discomfort wasgrowing.

He had by then realized that he was being blackmailed

As it turned out, his usual price was not that high, usually four or five level-eleven divine patterns. However, with every hundred deals, he would keep one for himself. He had embezzled a lot withthis scam over the years.

He set a sky-high price today in the hopes of a big take for himself. What he had not taken intoconsideration, was Hood, his leader's junior fellow apprentice. If he went to the leader and told himthat Kermit had asked for twelve for such a task, the leader would naturally be suspicious that hehad been taking divine patterns for himself. If the leader then sent someone to investigate, Kermitwould be doomed.

"Please, Hood, hold on. I made such a thoughtless offer and I regretted it immediately. Please, don'tbother speaking with the leader. I was just kidding actually. Let's talk about it,"

Kermit said suddenly and nervously after considering his situation for a while. He had decided itbest to not take the risk and his attitude had taken a full 180 degree turn.

"Oh, to think I almost took it seriously,” Hood said, his words thick with disdain. "We don't have anycultivation methods of the Deputy God Realm level. Tell us then, how many divine patterns do youwant? What is the real price?”

"Well, usually,” Kermit began slowly, "that reclusive cultivator asks for twelve level-eleven divinepatterns for tasks such as this.

But we are on good terms and so I'm sure I can ask him for a favor. You may be able to reach a dealat the price of nine divine patterns,” Kermit said somewhat hesitantly.

On the other side, the three of them kept silent and dead faced. Nine level-eleven divine patters wasstill much too high for them.

"Okay, okay, don't worry, we're all good friends here, I'm sure I can figure something out to makethis a little easier for you. Here is the final offer; six divine patterns! All you need to do is provide sixdivine patterns and I'll handle the other three. Deal?" Kermit said patting his chest. He seemed quiteconvinced that he was being helpful.

Darren pondered on this for a moment. This shouldn't be much of an issue for the two regionleaders. He decided he would borrow the payment from them now and would repay them double inthe future.

With that plan settled, he wanted to take the deal.

But Connor and Hood were still not satisfied with the price. Now that Hood had something onKermit, he would never allow Darren to have to pay that much

"We can agree to six divine patterns, on one condition; please bring the two masters together,”Hood said calmly.

He didn't want to bargain anymore, but he increased the number of killers to two, not asking, buttelling Kermit to do so.

"Hood, that's no way to do business,” Kermit responded, visibly displeased.

"Alright, Kermit, no more games. You've made a lot these past years. My senior brother is busycultivating in seclusion and doesn't pay much attention to these things. But if I tell him what's goingon, maybe he'll investigate it. You know that he hates two-faced liars and cheats. Do you really wantto gamble and see how this plays out for you?"

Hood was done with his silent threats and made it very clear now that he knew what he was doingwith these deals.

"Ahem, Hood, you misunderstand me," Kermit said meekly, softening his attitude. "I'm always veryfair and precise and never dare to fill my own pockets. I'm not entirely sure why you would evensuspect me of such heinous things. However, I won't blame you for it. I've gotten used to people'smisunderstandings and I do not wish to offend you. How about this; I'll ask the two Superior GodRealm masters to accept the task and I'll make sure they accept the divine patterns offer. Pleasedon't be suspicious of me anymore. I can't afford that,” Kermit said hastily with a nervous fake smile."Ha-ha, I was just kidding. I know the kind of person you are. Please do it as soon as possible. Twohours is long enough, isn't it?" Hood said pleasantly.

To hire two masters at the top level of the Superior God Realm with six level-eleven divine patternswas a good bargain. Hood wouldn't bother arguing with him anymore.

"Very well. Wait to hear from me,” Kermit said courteously and left with a flick of his sleeve.

"Ha-ha, thank you so much, Hood!" Connor was overcome with joy.

"Thank you, Master Hood," Darren said seriously and sincerely filled with gratitude, cupping hishands towards him. If not for Hood, he would have paid a much heftier price than this even withAkbar's help.

"You're welcome. You've helped me a great deal and I'd like to repay the favor.”

"Uh... Actually, there is one more thing I need to ask of you two. I don't even have one level-elevendivine pattern in my pocket, I'm quite short on them in fact. I was hoping to borrow the six divinepatterns from you, and I'll pay you back double in the future,” Darren asked awkwardly. He had noother option and had to force himself to ask.

"Don't worry about it, Darren. It's not a problem for Connor and I. Besides, he never mentionedwhat kind of divine pattern, did he?" Hood said with a cheeky smile as he winked at Connor."Ha-ha, what can I say, you're really the best at doing business."

Hood's words were pretty clear. Kermit had asked for level-eleven divine patterns and he would getthem, but they did not necessarily have to be of the same series.

"Ha-ha!" Darren chuckled and smiled as well. He had not expected Hood to be so cunning.

Now that the powerful masters he wanted were successfully hired, he would rush to the ChaoticRegion.
