Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 1461 A Hometown Fellow From Lothlann Continent
The gray figure landed a swift slap on the back of the Rule Soul Avatar.
The sheer contact with his atoms made the Rule Soul Avatar shudder in place; the feeling of hismeridians shattering upon bearing the brunt of the violent force raised alarms throughout his bodyand caused him to disperse himself immediately.
He reduced himself into several minuscule specks of light, frolicking in the space above to removehimself from close range with the gray figure.
"Nice try. But you still can't run away from me," the gray figure said condescendingly.
He was well aware that the Rule Soul Avatar wasn't dead, but used a special method to disintegratehimself, attempting to deceive him.
With a confident smirk plastered across his face, the gray figure pressed his palms forward, causingthe space surrounding him to collapse. He was planning on completely erasing the existence of theRule Soul Avatar.
As space collapsed under the intense pressure, the light spots that dominated the surroundingswith their brightness dimmed down, slowly losing their vitality.
The aura of the Rule Soul Avatar gradually dissipated until it wasn't felt anymore.
The gray figure raised his head to stare into the distance, widening his search radius. His thirst forblood was insatiable. Now that he got rid of Darren's avatar, Darren was going to be his next victim. With his mind made up, he propelled himself into the air and dashed towards the SecondDangerous Area.
Determined to escape, Darren and the others flew with all the speed they could muster up. Withoutwasting a moment, they transferred themselves the minute they reached the transmission array."Roland, where are we? What is this place?"
The city they landed in appeared to be densely populated, bustling with people walking on thestreet.
"This is Zone City, the territory of King Juan. He is one of the Five Kings. It should be safe for us tostay here.”
More than half of the Chaotic Region was now the property of the Five Kings, who had consentinglydivided the territories among themselves to avoid disputes. Only some barren parts were occupiedby small forces.
The Five Kings were the strongest masters in the Chaotic Region. The most levelheaded and contentone of them all was King Juan. He only stressed over the patch of land under his rule without caringabout expanding it and avoided indulging himself in unnecessary wars.
Upon the revelation, Darren was thrown off into silence. He had two reasons for entering theChaotic Region, the first being rescuing Yolanda. The second being him conquering a territory underhis name after formally entering the Chaotic Region.
But the terms in which he had entered the city was different than what he had initially imagined. Hewas on the run from powerful warriors, who were desperate to end his life. The fact that all he coulddo for now was hide instead of putting his plans into play made him feel aggravated.
But sizing the odds of the situation he was in, it was in his best interests to hide and lay low for awhile. If he were to fall into the hands of his enemies, he might never be able to accomplish all thathe had planned.
"This feeling of being helpless is overwhelming. I feel useless.” Darren heaved an exasperated sigh, defeated.
Even though he improved his strength to an extensive degree ever since he arrived at the PrimitiveWilderness, it was still not enough. He still had a ways to go before he could reach the high level ofthis world.
The stage was too vast, and he was small in comparison. Without the intervention of external forcessupporting him, he would probably not even last against a middle-level warrior of the Superior GodRealm.
Now, in the Chaotic Region, his enemies were much more powerful than the ones he had previouslyconfronted. Their cultivation level was at least at the Deputy God Realm. Darren wouldn't stand achance against them.
"Don't let this setback falter your will, Darren. After all, your time for cultivation isn't long. You'lldefinitely revive our Chu Clan once you grow stronger. I have full faith in you,” Roland said, attempting to lift his spirits.
"Thanks for your encouragement. But time waits for no man," Darren said, shaking his head todeflect his negative thoughts.
"Let's go look around for a place to stay."
For a while, Darren and Roland wandered aimlessly on the streets, like sheep separated from theirherd, unable to tell where they were going.
"We're being followed!"
As they trod along the path, Roland caught on to the aura of their stalkers and frowned, putting uphis guard.
"Come on out! We know you're here!" Roland shouted, provoking their pursuers.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
The next second, two men appeared in front of them, blocking their path.
Judging from their appearance, they seemed to be in their late twenties. The auras they exudedwere distinct, yet dense and deep.
"Why are you following us?" Darren asked, annoyed.
"Come with us," the tall man gestured Darren to walk behind them, emotionlessly.
"And why should we trust you? We barely know you."
"Spare me the small talk. Someone wants to see you."
Seemingly confused, Darren tilted his head and protested, "That's impossible. I don't know anyonehere."
"Humph! Don't refuse a toast and prefer to sip on losses!" Unable to tolerate this blatant exchangeof words, the short man was pushed to his wit's end and activated his god's power, preparing totake them by force.
"Are you two looking for a fight?"
Refusing to hold back, Roland took a step forward and forcefully pushed the two persistent menback, using only the intense pressure of his god's power as a weapon.
"Damn. How interesting! This guy is at the top level of the Superior God realm?"
Taken by surprise, the two men eyed Roland and Darren up with newfound respect. They didn'texpect that even the servant who followed Darren would boast of such a high realm.
Compared to Roland, the two men were at the low-level of the Superior God Realm. Sizing thetremendous gap in their abilities, they didn't dare provoke them further.
"We apologize for our rash behavior in receiving you. We came to escort both of you to our master. He wants to invite you over. We have no personal ill will against you." With just a tiny spectacle ofRoland's strength, the two men backed off and switched their conduct.
"Not interested. You can fuck off now."
Without giving them a second glance, Roland brushed the two aside with a wave of his hand. If theyweren't on the run for their lives, he would have disposed of them instantly.
"Respected Patriarch Darren, my master invites you sincerely and expects your presence. Pleasecome with us. We mean no harm," the tall man bowed respectfully in his direction, requesting oncemore.
"What did you just say?"
Astonished, Darren suddenly eyed the tall man. The fact that this person knew Darren's identitycaught his attention.
"Who is your master?" Darren asked, giving in to his curiosity.
"You'll know once you come with us.”
Whoosh!
Cautious as he was, Roland felt an unsettling feeling sprout in his heart. Acting on instinct, he benthis palm into a claw and grabbed the throats of both men on each hand, subduing them.
"Sir, please, calm yourself... It's not what you think..."
The two of them struggled, choking between their words as Roland tightened his grip around theirnecks.
"I'm not in the mood for guessing games. Now, tell me who is your master, or I'll snap your necks intwo."
"My master told me that you come from the same hometown as him.”
Just as he revealed this information, Darren fell into his thoughts, trying to deduce who this personmight be.
"He's from the same hometown as me? I wonder..."
"Is your master from the Lothlann Continent?" Darren asked, returning from his thoughts.
"I. I don't know..."
"Roland, let them go.
Their master might not harbor any hostility towards us. I assume so since he didn't send anyonepowerful to receive us,” Darren said to Roland, convincing him.
With a scoff, Roland loosened his grip on the men. They fell to the ground, squirming to catch theirbreath.
"Patriarch Darren, we apologize for offending you. Please forgive our ignorance. We request you tocome with us, so we could finish our task."
"I'll say it again in case you didn't hear me properly the last time. Fuck off!" Keeping his guard up,Roland shouted, headstrong on protecting Darren against involving himself in potential risks.Signaling Roland to stop, Darren raised his hand. Then, he turned to the two men and spoke. "Fine.I'll go with you.”
Still unsure, Roland's lips parted slightly to voice his concerns, but he remained silent instead, choking on his words.
"Thank you, sir. Come this way, please.”
The two men escorted them to a small transmission array.
Soon, Darren and Roland were transported to a mountain. A flat ground opened up for them tostep on, and they noticed various houses of ordinary architecture built across the landscape.
Soon, they were greeted by a figure who flew over in their direction and planted himself in front ofDarren.
Without uttering a word, the man scanned Darren from head to toe and nodded convincingly tohimself.
"Who are you? Why did you want to meet me?" Darren said indifferently, cutting straight to thechase.
In response, the man smiled warmly and said, "Darren, I am from the Lothlann Continent. We arefrom the same hometown. Since we're meeting each other in a foreign place, it is only right for meto invite you over for some drinks and maybe have a chat.”
Sure enough! He was from the Lothlann Continent.
Hearing his welcoming tone, Darren's expression relaxed. "You must be my senior then. May I knowyour name?"
"I don't see the point. I'm a nobody."
"Sir, you are being way too modest. Those who can come to the Primitive Wilderness are all peerlesstalents,” Darren said, honestly.
The man nodded slightly and said, "My name is Todd. You must have never heard of me, isn't thatright?”
Once he heard that name echo through his ears, Darren was left frozen in place.
This name had a deep influence on him!
Who was this man?
He used to be one of the protectors of the Lothlann Continent, known as Todd, the God of Sword.Because he had destroyed the avatar of the Dark Immortal Master, he broke into the PrimitiveWilderness in the past.
