Chapter 536 Get More Spiritual Crystals (Part One)
"A real devil?" asked Darren, unfazed. "How strong a fighter is this thing? Does it have any powerfulskills?"
"It was discovered by my master somewhere in the lava of the Ancient Age,” Anna explained. "By myestimation, it should be about as strong as a human five-star grand warrior. I don't know if it hasany special skills or not."
Darren nodded, knowing that she had told him the truth, in accordance with the rules.
'I'm not sure I'd have an easy time if I tried to fight this devil now, ' he thought to himself. “But Ithink I'll have a better chance after spending a year in cultivation and training. And if I can replace thetime turbulent flows, I will have more time for my cultivation. Right now, though, the mostimportant thing for me is to replace more resources for my cultivation. Mr. Xiao told me there arespiritual crystals here on the third floor. I must replace them as soon as possible.’
still, before Darren started hunting for the treasure, he had one more thing to ask this young girl.He wanted to know exactly how to obtain the premium sword intent through cultivation!
If he managed to elevate his sword intent level to the premium stage or even higher, his overallstrength would also improve correspondingly.
More importantly, if Darren could also promote his blade intent to the premium stage, then his darkgold internal force, formed by fusing the blade intent and sword intent, would also be greatlystrengthened!
However, actually fusing the two intents would be a real challenge, as the Heavenly Repressioncaused by the fusion would be a great threat to his life.
He quickly considered the matter. “Mr. Xiao also told me that there are Primitive Stones on thefourth floor, ones which contain the Heavenly Repression Rule. Even with the help of the spiritualcrystals on the third floor, I still won't be able to break through to the Grand Realm, not until I'vealso defeated the fourth floor's guardian and gotten the stones.’
In Darren's Space Ring, there were only a few Primitive Stones containing the Heavenly RepressionRule remaining. They definitely weren't sufficient for him to fuse the blade intent and the swordintent. As such, he would have to acquire more stones from the fourth floor before he could start toworry about the Grand Realm.
After questioning Anna further, he learned enough to practice the premium sword intent. However,he was determined to not rush through it. He knew he would have to wait until he had enough timeto get it right.
While he was at it, Darren asked the girl where exactly the treasure was at and, finally, for moredetails about the devil. Once he was armed with that information, he felt he'd be ready for justabout anything.
According to Anna, the treasures on this floor had all been buried in the edge zone. But even if anychallengers made it there, they still wouldn't obtain the treasures easily, because the edge zone washeavily guarded by what she called the ruthless creatures.
The very phrase "ruthless creatures” caught Darren's attention. He decided, therefore, to ask forsome details about them.
It turned out that the ruthless creatures had been created by humans. Though in many respects theyappeared as alive as anyone, they possessed no thoughts or feelings, and could do nothing exceptcarry out whatever orders their creators gave them.
As he listened to Anna's description of these adversaries, Darren inferred that they were similar tothe "manipulated soldiers” that he had seen before. But the girl went on to say that almost all of theruthless creatures had strength equal to hers!
"Those things aren't as naive or as easy to beat as me," she snarled, her temper flaring up again."When they kill you, I hope nobody replaces your body, you shameless bastard! Here, this will take youright to the edge zone. Go there and die.” When she was done, she produced a sheet of sheepskin, which turned out to be a map, and threw it at Darren's face.
He caught the map without batting an eye. "Hey, young lady, I know you are upset because Idefeated you. But you really don't need to keep up all the insults, do you?
Besides, it's not such a good idea to be so mean to someone when you're not as strong as them. Isit?"
Despite how much he teased the girl, Darren wasn't at all bothered by her childish behavior, nor didhe take her curses seriously.
"Get out of my sight, you cheeky bastard!" she shot back. "You wouldn't have beaten me so easily ifyou hadn't been able to sneak up on me like you did. Like I said, you're nothing but a shamelessbastard."
"I've never met someone so childish,” Darren muttered with a shake of his head. By then he'd hadenough of Anna, so he flew off, following the course on the map.
The girl watched him leave and continued to scold him as he shrank into the distance. She couldn'thelp but vent her anger.
"No," she said to herself at last. "I'm going to follow that brat. When he gets himself killed, I want tobe there to see it." When she thought of the strength of the ruthless creatures, she thought for surethat Darren was going to lose badly, and be killed. As she daydreamed about this, she calmed downa little bit.
She considered it further. There were a lot of ruthless creatures in the edge zone, not just a few.Even Anna would replace it hard to resist their attacks. But a cocky sneak like Darren, who only knewsneak attacks? He was dead meat for sure.
The girl couldn't help but laugh cruelly as she imagined Darren's end. But it wasn't enough. She hadto see it for herself. Making up her mind, she disappeared and set off after him as fast as she could. After two hours' flight, Darren found himself over a dark and very unfriendly-looking swamp. Thestench of rotten plant matter assaulted his nose.
Doing his best to ignore the smell, he extended his spiritual sense and started scanning for the auragiven off by the spiritual crystals.
