Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 575 The Young Man In Black Armor (Part Two)

"What did you say?" barely hearing the words that were muttered by Darren, the elder man lookedand asked.

"Oh, nothing. Just never mind that.” Casting a pretentious expression like he had just said nothing, the confused Darren shook his head.

However, a thought bothered Darren. It was the fact that the Sacred Palace knew that Darren couldtransform into a fiend before. But the Sacred Palace had no idea where he had obtained that powerand capability of transforming into a fiend. Probably it was because Darren was not worthy of theirattention at that time.

"Now that I have relayed to you the facts I know about the mutant, please take the situation intoaccount. If you will, please hurry to the forbidden areas and try everything to stop the catastrophefrom happening as soon as possible,” pleaded the elder man. After which, he utilized some runesand procured on his hands something valuable, which he handed towards Darren, saying, "Theseare the Killing Elixir and the Soul Exploding Rune. Take these with you. They might come in handy incase things get rough for you." The elder man's tone was foreboding as he handed the rune andelixir to Darren.

At the sound of it, Darren thought to himself that the old man still wanted him to die.

But before Darren could say anything, the elder man continued, "You are such a genius. It will be apity if we lose you. You can go to the Lotus Holy Land and hand these two things over to theguardian there. He knows what to do, and need not say any other things.”

Hearing his words, Darren immediately understood what the elder man had meant. He wanted theelder who was responsible for guarding the forbidden area of the Lotus Holy Land to do his part instopping the most powerful mutant.

"Must someone die to stop that mutant?” For the threat the task imposed, and the uncertainty of it,Darren sighed and dropped his head low at the same time. He was reluctant to follow the elderman's order, for he knew that he was putting his life on the line.

"Young man, you have experienced less and don't know how cruel the crisis of human extinction is.You just need to give these two things to the guardian. We won't force him to sacrifice, and wewon't even communicate with him. It's up to him to decide what to do," the elder man replied witha persuasive voice that somehow entice Darren's conscience.

"Fine, I'll do it, for the sake of the human race.” Convinced, at last, Darren nodded. The resistanceand reluctance that he felt earlier were somehow relieved at the thought that he would be doingthe endeavor for humanity's welfare—or least humanity's existence.

"Our lives depend on you, Darren.” The elder man cupped his hands and lowered his head to bowpolitely towards Darren, and his figure increasingly wore off because the rule power projection wasunable to maintain itself anymore.

'As far as I know, the elder who is guarding the Lotus Holy Land is a five-star grand warrior. Even if Igave him these two things, could he stop the mutant?’ left alone now, Darren thought worriedlywhile looking at the rune and elixir in his hands.

For reasons unknown to him, Darren felt guilty and thought that he was a little selfish at thismoment.

When the elder man implied that he had to sacrifice himself to stop the mutant, he was verydisgruntled and showed strong resistance to the idea. Contrariwise, when the elder man had achange of mind and asked the guardian to do it in place of him, Darren only felt sympathetic andnot so angry.

"Maybe it's just out of human nature,” shutting the insinuation off his head, Darren sighed slightly."The strength of that elder is limited, so I should explode myself when things get edgy. After all, Iam just an avatar.” Weighing his alternatives at the moment, Darren smiled bitterly.

Though he was aware that the death of his avatar would do great harm to his real body, Darren waswilling to take the rest. He was determined to do so than do nothing and just put all the burden onthe guardian. There hindered a doubt on his head whether his real body could survive the demise ofhis avatar or not. But if he couldn't stand out at the critical situation, Darren would regret it later.Having made up his mind, Darren made himself ready to investigate in the Holy Lands.

At the same time, Darren did not intend to inform Scott of the situation at hand. He feared that themutant was too strong, and Scott would die if he were not careful, in case he interfered.

"Scott, I'm still investigating. It will take me about ten days to half a month. You just wait for me onthat uninhabited island. Please don't leave until I tell you so," Darren whispered to Scott, using hisspiritual sense.

"I understand, be careful,” Scott replied, along with a gentle reminder.

After such, Darren didn't reply back lest their conversation would lengthen, and his mouth mightbetray the truth on Scott. Thus, he ended the conversation abruptly and flew up to the sky, headingto the Dragon Holy Land.

However, when he had just flown for less than half a minute, a figure like a phantom suddenlyflashed next to him!

"Who's this?"

Cold and pale in the face, Darren's heart skipped a beat at the sight of the phantom's loomingfigure.

It was so fast that it dashed from one point to the other. Darren couldn't even follow it with his eyes.Worst was, after several attempts, Darren couldn't capture the phantom with his spiritual sense.Caught unaware and surprised at the instance, Darren looked around warily. After a while, a familiarand frightening figure suddenly appeared and flew towards him.

"It's you. Why are you here?" As the phantom drew closer to him, Darren murmured and was totallystunned.

In front of him, a young man in black armor gazed at him coldly and without any expressions. As theyoung man was just a few inches away from him, the hair of Darren's skin stood on ends at theyoung man's dominating aura.

Rummaging through the memories on the back of his mind, Darren grew familiar with that youngman's face. He knew very well that he was the one who flew out of the bronze coffin.

"So, you have been following me all this time, and not the shadow of that elder man?" asked Darrenin a probing tone. He had such a realization as to the young man's sudden appearance. Darrencouldn't believe that he had lazed his guard too lax; he wasn't able to notice that he had the youngman like his shadow.
