Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 699 Deceiving The Water Kylin

"What have you found during this period of observation?" Lord Donald hurriedly asked.

"My Lord, the entrance to the Life Forbidden Zone in the number nine Badlands has been broken bya mysterious man. Darren went to replace the treasures and had come out successfully. When he cameout, I found that he already possessed the talent of the Genuine Domain Degree.

What's more, Darren also possesses the inheritance skill of the Dragon Blood Clan. He is muchstronger than the other members of the Dragon Blood Clan at the same realm. His current strengthis nearly matched to that of an inferior holy warrior. Only a few warriors at the top level of theseven-star Grand Realm could rival his strength. He was besieged by dozens of top-level warriorswho had grasped ninety percent of the Fringe Holy Will. He was able to kill several of them.

He then summoned the legendary beast, Kylin. The beast blew up the heads of several other strongwarriors. Soon enough, more than a dozen masters were killed.”

The golden-armored law enforcer reported the replaceings from his investigation, not leaving outanything.

"Talent of the Genuine Domain Degree! That is what a potential holy emperor genius could have!"Lord Donald exclaimed, eyes flashing with excitement.

"He is the only six-star grand warrior who can transform into a dragon and summon a legendarybeast. It's incredible!" Lord Donald was ecstatic. It was an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity toencounter such an extremely talented young man. "You should go and pick him up as soon aspossible. He is absolutely qualified for the next adventure.”

"Right away, My Lord," the golden-armored law enforcer replied with cupped hands.

"Hold on," Lord Donald walked over the enforcer and said, "the fight just now might have attractedthe attention of that man in the Badlands. You'd better go with No. 3 law enforcer. It would besafer.”

"Yes, sir." The No. 2 golden-armored law enforcer then retreated.

In the Heaven Lake Sect of the number nine Badlands

The golden Water Kylin landed beside Darren.

"The blasted thing is too damn hard! My hand swelled up trying to break through! So, yeah... theyescaped!" the Water Kylin angrily shouted.

He chased the Suppressing Vat for almost one hundred thousand kilometers but had failed topierce it. Eventually, the vat broke through the space and sank into the black crack. The Water Kylinhad to turn back.

"Killing most of them is enough.” Darren nodded in reassurance.

At that moment, Hobson regained consciousness. As soon as his eyesight focused and saw theWater Kylin, he immediately stood up in surprise. "Wow! This dead dog is mighty and powerful! What are you?"

"What? How dare you! You brat!" Hearing Hobson call him a dead dog struck his nerves. He wasabout to slap him with his claw, but then Darren intervened.

"Stop it!" Darren barked out, "This is my friend, Hobson. He's one of my men. Don't be so hot-headed, dead dog!"

Darren chuckled then turned to Hobson. "Hobson, this is the true descendant of the legendarybeast. You can call him Water Kylin," he explained.

"Oh, so you're a legendary beast. I just heard Darren call you dead dog, so I called you that way, too. Please don't be angry, sir." Hobson smiled awkwardly and reached out his hand.

"Humph, since you are my master's friend, I'll let it slide.” The Water Kylin gently pushed Hobson'shand away.

"By the way, you've disappeared for a long time. Where on earth have you been? Your strength hasincreased a lot!" Darren asked the Water Kylin.

"Well, of course. I'm in a closed-door cultivation. I suffered through a lot in order to awaken again. On a separate note though, where's that brat, Finley? I haven't seen him since I got back," the WaterKylin asked.

"Isn't Finley your big brother? He's not here and so you dare call him brat?" Darren said with a smile."Humph! That brat has bullied me for so many years! I just played along and considered him my bigbrother because I was biding my time, waiting for the chance to get revenge! Now that I've becomestronger, I must give him a hard lesson,” the Water Kylin smugly said.

The smile on Darren's face faded and was replaced by a sorrowful look. "My best friend Finley diedsaving us,” he slowly said.

"Come on, master... Don't make that kind of joke. How could that freak die? If he was going to die, itwould be because I tortured him to death!" the Water Kylin roared, gritting his teeth.

"It's true, legendary beast. In order to save us, he was crushed to dust by a half-step emperor. He isindeed...” Hobson added, playing along with Darren's little show to tease the Water Kylin. As itturned out, Hobson really had the talent for performance as he let out a rather extremely believablewail.

"Are you trying to fool me?" The Water Kylin gave a grimace, his face twisting in an unnatural smile. Both Darren and Hobson stayed silent, staring at the ground with mournful looks on their faces."Really?" The Water Kylin was stunned.

Darren and Hobson made a show of nodding their heads slowly, adding to the theatrics.

"Oh... my brother! Oh... No!" The Water Kylin collapsed to the ground and burst into tears.

"Bro, why did you die? What will I do without you now? Oh!!!"

Darren's eyes widened in shock as he watched the scene in front of him. “The dead dog is a bitoverkill with the crying. His tears are flowing like a river!" he thought.

"Sheesh! Is this legendary beast actually crying or just pretending?” With furrowed brows, Hobsonturned to look at Darren. He sent a message with his spiritual sense.

Darren shrugged. "Who knows?"

Ten days had passed. Darren and Hobson flew aimlessly and slowly.

To Darren's astonishment, the Water Kylin was still crying when he followed them. Thankfully, he wasnot bawling like a newborn infant anymore and was now only sobbing quietly.

"I'm sorry, Water Kylin. You've fainted from crying three times already. Please take care of yourself."Hobson nervously walked towards the Water Kylin. He wondered whether the beast would kill themif he found out that he and Darren were just messing around with him.

"I wasn't able to see him in his last moments... My brother... Oh... Oh-oh.” He was unable to controlhimself anymore as a fresh new set of tears streamed down his face once again.

Darren swallowed heavily. He was starting to feel the guilt from his deception. He had seen theWater Kylin cry and beg for mercy countless times, but he had never seen him so depressed before."Master..." the Water Kylin quietly sobbed out. "If someday, I die... Will you mourn for me too?" hewhimpered out.

"Of course. We are brothers,” Darren blurted out without a second thought.

"Ohhh!" The Water Kylin burst into tears and loudly wailed.

"Okay, buddy. I'll tell you something. Don't get excited,” Darren said, the corners of his mouthpulling up into a grimace.

The Water Kylin nodded. "Okay."

"We lied to you about your brother... Please stay calm." Anticipating the worst, Darren and Hobsonstepped far away from him.

"What?" The Water Kylin looked up at the two, clearly expecting more explanation.

"He's still alive and is trapped inside a palace, but he should be able to come out after a few years..."Darren awkwardly clarified.

The golden hair on the Water Kylin's body exploded all of a sudden as he gritted his teeth andgrowled.

"Calm down, man. I didn't know that you were so sensitive." Both Darren and Hobson continued tostep back.

The Water Kylin growled louder. He rushed towards them with all his might.

Violent growls and screams were heard for three days and three nights.

The Water Kylin eventually calmed down. Darren and Hobson were completely tattered—teethprints and several wounds covered their bodies

"Are you... satisfied now... legendary beast? Please... just... stop biting me... already..." Hobson barelyhad enough strength left to speak.

"How dare you deceive me and ridicule my feelings? You definitely deserve to be bitten.” The WaterKylin gritted his teeth, growling like a ferocious dog.

"That's enough, Water Kylin." Darren got up, wincing at the pain.

"It seems that you have a deep relationship with him. You won't be so sad when you replace out thatyour father is dead, will you?" Darren smiled triumphantly.

"Bah! I don't have a father. Besides, I had long figured out that you were lying to me. I just playedalong. As for Finley, once he escapes from that palace, he will taste a beating much harder than theone I gave you guys!" the Water Kylin roared with laughter.

"Legendary beast, Finley is now at the peak of his ability and would be able to kill an inferior holywarrior. Are you sure you still want to fight him?" Hobson warned.

"What?!" The Water Kylin was frozen in shock.
