Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 803 A Mad Monkey

"What a strong aura of the fiend!"

Darren frowned when he felt that the evil spirit inside the cave was stronger than before.

It didn't take long for Darren and Finley to reach deep inside the cave.

To Darren's astonishment, the cave was empty. It had been full of black beetles as well as the blackmutants before.

"What has happened there? Where are those creatures now?" Darren was puzzled.

Finley frowned and glanced around as a sense of foreboding filled him.

"Hurry up! We need to leave as soon as we replace the Fiendish Root," Finley said as anxiety coursedthrough him.

Squeak. Squeak. Squeak.

The sound of crunching bones echoed through the cave.

"What are you guys looking for? Do you need my help?"

Darren and Finley were astonished when they heard the voice.

"Who are you?"

they asked, but there was no reply. Gradually, a short figure walked out from a narrow crack.

Bang.

When the figure tripped over a stone, the nervousness Darren and Finley had felt, turned tosurprise.

Both Darren and Finley glanced at each other.

"Fuck, I fell over a stone? Just get out of my way!"

The figure stood and punched the stone on the ground.

That ordinary stone was not hurt at all. Instead, the little figure's fist began to bleed.

Darren and Finley were rendered speechless.

How weak was the creature if it couldn't even break a stone?

"Ahem, as I haven't eaten much recently, my strength has reduced significantly. I apologize for myoutburst, though.”

When the figure stepped out of the darkness, Darren and Finley saw that it was a monkey.

As soon as the monkey neared them, Darren's and Finley's hearts trembled as if they had receivedan electric shock.

However, the monkey hadn't put any pressure on Darren and Finley. On the contrary, it gave off anatural aura that intimidated other creatures.

"Darren, we must be careful. This monkey scares me. And the fear I feel is coming from the depthsof my soul.” Finley sent a secret message to Darren.

"I feel the same," Darren replied.

"We came here in search of a kind of herb. If something we did made you uncomfortable, pleaseforgive us, sir." Darren was the first to speak.

"Well, you don't need to be so formal and apologetic. You can just call me bro.

Now, come and sit here.”

The monkey was as polite as the farmer from the human race.

Both Darren and Finley felt their blood freeze when the monkey behaved so calmly and friendly."No, thanks. We just need to replace the Fiendish Root, and then we'll leave. We don't want to botheryou, bro." Finley waved his hand as he tried to offer an explanation that wouldn't offend thecreature.

"Oh, are you too important to sit with me?" The monkey curled his lips.

"No, it's not like that at all! You seemed busy when we entered the cave, and we didn't want tobother you."

The monkey smiled and said, "I've just stewed some pork bones. Come. Let's eat together."

On a stone table stood a large stone pot with boiling water. It was full of fresh meat and bones aswell.

Darren's brows furrowed at the sight.

Now he knew why they hadn't seen all those black beetles and black mutants. They were in this pot!Darren and Finley stood still as trepidation filled them. They had no intention of drinking that soup."If you two keep acting like this, I will get very mad.”

The monkey narrowed his eyes as he glared at Darren and Finley. He didn't have enough food forhimself, and yet, he had invited these two to share his meal out of kindness. But they seemed tobehave disrespectfully.

"You've seen my temper before. I could not forgive that tiny stone. And now you are going to refusemy kindness? You guys are smart, and you must know what you are going to face if you insist oncontinuing like this, huh?" The monkey raised his bleeding fist and shook it at them.

"Let's just leave as quickly as we can.” Finley sent a message to Darren.

This was the first time that Finley had taken the initiative to ask for a retreat.

The aura emitted by the monkey left them feeling so strange, so weird.

"One, two, three, run!" Darren said. In the next second, both of them turned and ran.

Bang. Bang.

Darren and Finley hit on a transparent wall at the end of the gap.

"Shit, it is blocked."

When they turned in unison, they saw that the short figure was already behind them.

The monkey grinned at them.

"If it were possible to leave this cave, I would have escaped already. I have waited three months fora meal!

Come on, brothers. Let's have some soup and chat.”

The monkey turned without waiting for Darren and Finley to respond.

"Damn it! Just screw it!" Finley couldn't stand it anymore.

So, they both flew over and landed in front of the monkey.

The monkey, however, looked nervously at the two men. As he neared the stone pot, the monkeysaid with a serious expression, "What are you thinking of doing? Everyone can have only one bone.Don't you dare try to bite another bone. The soup should be evenly split between us. If you dare todrink one extra drop, I will be ruthless.”

Finley was speechless. The courage he had summoned to fight the monkey vanished.

"What are you doing, bro? We told you that we came here to pick some herbs and that we'll leaveas soon as we replace them. Why are you trying to scare us?" Finley asked.

"You idiots! Do you want me to beat you?

Profound Eighteen Punches, Nine-Life Palm, Wind and Fire Kick..."

The monkey summoned a dozen martial arts skills in a row. Simultaneously, he clapped and kickedFinley and Darren, and made a horrifying sound of "ha-ha.”

Finley and Darren looked at each other, speechless.

"Drink! This is the end of the work!"

The monkey jumped back ten feet and glared at Darren and Finley arrogantly.

"Are you afraid? Did my attacks hurt? Do you regret being so ill-mannered? I told you not to messwith me, but you didn't listen. You deserve it. Bah!" The monkey spat disdainfully on the groundwhile hiding his palms behind his back. He had injured himself so severely that they had swollen tothe size of pig's feet.

Darren and Finley stood motionless as if they were petrified

They didn't even feel the monkey's attacks even though he had used over ten sets of martial skillson them

It was like being beaten by a kid!

"Fuck you! You are just a crazy monkey! I can't believe I was scared to death just now!"

Finley was no anxious anymore. Instead, he flew to the monkey's side, grabbed him by the tail, andslapped his butt several times.

"Squeak! Squeak! Squeak...” The monkey screamed as agony coursed through him.

"How dare you? I will not spare you!" The monkey tried to protect his head with his arms.

"Idiot! I just hit you on the ass!"

"Really? Oh! Beat me wherever you want. As long as my handsome face is spared, nothing elsematters. Just like the wind, I am doomed to be unrestrained for a lifetime.”

Darren couldn't stand it anymore. He shook his head and probed the cave with his spiritual sense tolook for the so-called Fiendish Root.

According to what he had been told, the Fiendish Root grew in wet underground surroundings. Itwould be easy to replace as it would emit an extremely strong evil aura.

Darren found something after searching for a while.

He leaped a few feet forward, released a wave of blade and sword intents toward the dark redground, and opened a cave ten thousand feet deep.

Darren jumped into the cave and followed the strong evil aura inside. When he reached the end, hewas stunned.

There was no Fiendish Root here. Instead, the cave was full of heads. Most of these belonged to theblack mutants.

They had died miserably—the remnants of their skulls were covered in claw marks, or their headswere cracked open, and their brains had been shattered.

The stench of death and rot made Darren want to throw up.

"The monkey is so ferocious. How could it be possible that it has no strength left now? Did he hidehis power from Finley and me on purpose?” Darren looked serious as he tried to replace answers tothese questions.

The howl of the monkey reached Darren's ears. A shiver tingled his spine as he glanced at thecreatures one final time. The scene was so tragic.

Darren focused his spiritual sense again as he tried to identify the location emitting the strongestevil aura.

Buzz.

Darren's brain trembled a little. He sensed a breath of fiendish aura that was so intense that it madehis heart palpitate. It was almost as powerful as the moment when Darren sensed the first fiendancestor's broken body.

"It's that monkey..."

Darren found that his spiritual sense had converged on that monkey.
